Being a student I have to make a detailed report about British holidays. So, I managed to find some information on this subject & the thing that surprized me was that ALL Christian holidays are remembered to have some pagan background in Britain.
So I'd like to find out if British people really remember the history of their holidays, what traditions are preserved in families & at last do all these holidays mean anything else for you except an extra day-off ?

P.S. This thread isn't adressed only to British, of course. Everyone is welcomed:D

Sorry to break it to you, but none of those statements are accurate.

And it's true, all of the holidays that are commonly observed have pagan origins. Do a small amount of back history research and it won't take long to come to that conclusion.
