I thought this would most likely be the best place to post this... So here we go...

Lately im having every thursday free from school and when i have nothing to do i useally go and watch T.V. Well since there was nothing on TV and i started watching Nickelodeon or Jetix... And i notced alot is actually not fun anymore to whats...
Sure most shows are still fun to watch like Spongebob Sqaurepants, Fairly Odd Parents or Totally Spies... But what happend to the old series everyone used to love like: The Spiderman, The Incredible Hulk or Biker Mice From Mars... i grow up with those shows, why change stuff that almost everyone loved and most like still loves... Those shows are also in almost every country simply English with Subtitles, but these days, everthing is Dutch or German spoken, and its horrbile most of the time... Were did everthing go to when it simply was still English and voices that simply dont make you duck becuase of the evil sound of the voices...

Some programs i simply miss, or are changed so bad that is HORRIBLE...

Spiderman: This was great, i really miss it once i heard they were making actual movies from these series i litterly screamed it out with excitment, i was so happy to hear it was still alive and well...

Pokemon:
Well i guess this all speaks for it self, we all used to whats this when we were kids... We cried if something happend to Pikachu, and smiled when Team Rocked blasted away...

Samurai pizza cats:
My absolute favrete... one picture says more then enough:D
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y298/KunimasaKunimasaOiOiOi/SamuraiPizzaCatsWallpaperSm.jpg
Absolute classic...

But what happend to the good old TV Series we older kids used to watch... well were never going to find out most likely... But share your thought about this subject if you like, and most important staying a kind from inside can never harm anyone:tmb:

I used to love telebugs.

Can't for the life of me remember any details about plot etc (as it was about 20 years ago when I watched it), but I remember thinking it was awesome!

And don't get me started on how much Teletubbies are a BLATANT rip-off of the obviously superior telebugs. Incomprehensible morons.

Goodness, so many to list. Here's a few I used to watch as a child.

1. Battle of the Planets, a 1970's anime that I used to watch on Saturday mornings.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v306/manypersonae/botp.jpg

The opening titles:

FoO5H_UKCrw

2. Bod. I used to absolutely love this programme as a toddler. I remember Aunt Flo too.

3. Bagpuss.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v306/manypersonae/bagpuss.jpg 70kUVZWokm4

4 & 5 Another programme from my toddler years. Play School. Who remembers Big Ted, Little Ted, Humpty Dumpty, Hamble and Jemima? My favourite window was the round window.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v306/manypersonae/playschool2.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v306/manypersonae/playschool1.jpg

6. Mr. Benn

7. And even this as a toddler Clicky (http://625.uk.com/tv_logos/flash/ou_bbc2.asp). Only those in the UK will know what this is. And don't ask. My mother was very bemused. :S

As far as regular type shows I never missed a Columbo or an episode of Mission/Impossible. Both featured the finest writing in the business and had the best directors. Even Spielberg directed a couple Columbo's. And the MI series featured the best writing and plots ever in a tv series. Throw the MI movies in the garbage, they sucked.

When I figure out exactly what linux plugin this baffling machine wants me to install (on hubby's ubuntu laptop since mine died), then I shall watch away... :D

Bod was very strange, though. Very minimalistic.

:yik: Fenella the witch used to terrify me. :D Still loved the programme though.
My father used to do the best Fenella impression (and Chorlton, come to think of it...) We were often regaled with 'Ooooooooaaaaa yoouuu stuuuupid Oooaaaaff!'

I was fascinated by the weird sea-urchin things, myself. What on earth were they for?!

Aww man, the Flumps. Loved that too. I used to be fascinated by their hands.
They were very special, weren't they? I found it very amusing that there was a flump called Pootle, too... :D

And then there's Danger Mouse, of course! I had a Danger Mouse fountain pen and a Colonel K rubber that smelt of chewing gum (ahhhh, the 1980's... wasn't it a grand decade to be a child?!)

:D Magic. What fun your dad must have been with that.

I don't remember them. It's mainly Fenella who I remember. And I thought it bizarre that she lived in a kettle.

He was my first ever TV crush, and started me on the long slippery slope that led to my penchant for chaps with long dark hair in tight trews... :cln:

I also LOVE the music (Clannad 'Legend') and listen to it a lot even now. (There again, I have all the Praed episodes (not the Jason Connery ones - he was Nasty Fake Blonde Robin) and watch them fairly regularly.)

Visionaries
Mr.Bogus (love/hate relationship)
Mighty Max
Count Duckula

etc etc

I also LOVED the those cozy classically-drawn british (I think) cartoons with animal characters. I'm really sad I don't recall any of their names or anything relevant really.

EDIT : OMG I just found one of them british cartoons I LOVED to death - Wil Cwac Cwac

They look so familiar, must of watched that when I was really young. They sort of look like the couple in every street that keep inviting you to look at their garden. :p
