The Fall Of Natla- WIP

Serious Advice Needed on this one.:D

Okay, so basically Im trying to combine the two TR Canons into one. This means taking the charaters from TR1 Atlantis (Classis Natla, Tihocan, Qualopec etc.) and placing them in environments similar to those of TRA Atlantis (costumes, places, lava, mutants etc.) In a nutshell: cutting out all the stuff I hate from both Canons :p

So, this piece is how I imagineed the defeat of Natla to have taken place in both worlds. It takes place after Qualopec was crippled (hence the spider legs).

Problematic Areas:
-Natla's hand placement both left and right.

-The placement of her front knee. This is a foreshortening issue.

-Qualopec's leg. Appearance matters people :p Does it look correct for this world?

-Placement of the scion. Should it be caught by Qualopec or should Natla be clinging to it for dear life?

-Any other noticable flaws.

Any advice you guys have on this piece would be greatly appreciated. Also, the image quality sucks because of my scanner. Bare with me please :D

It looks perfect so far - a fiery atlantean background would be an interesting addition :)

As for the leg/knee that you're having foreshortening problems with, I think what seems unnatural is the thigh portion lying too closely to her stomach. The whole limb looks like a separate object from Natla. The thigh would come towards us more, and there would be a visible space behind her knee/calf between her legs, before her foot would disappear under her other leg. If you haven't tried it already, try lying in front of a mirror the same way. I did it so I could 'see' what was wrong, and if my thigh was that close to my stomach my foot wouldn't be resting under my other leg, and if my foot was resting under my other leg, my thigh wouldn't be that close to my stomach.

Nice work so far :tmb: :

1. About Natla's hands, make them face up, looking weak. That's defeat for her, sister :p

2. Her front knee looks fine (either left or right :rolleyes:)

3. The Scion should be with Qualopec. Have him dangling the Scion (in his hands) in front of her.

4. Where's her crown? It should be on her head, or at least muss her hair up a little :D

I found this tip really helpful! Im always having trouble with foreshortening, it's an area I really need practice in. I'll definatly try the pose in front of the mirror like you said. Thank you for the advice :D
