View Full Version : Unfinished Business - Peru/Greece Edition
TR1 was a masterpiece. I only played UB last year and I still enjoyed it quite a bit even though I found it lacked context. When it comes to interactiveness within imaginary worlds context is everything for me. But I digress....
As much as I like Egypt and Atlantis, Peru and Greece would have been my choices if I were to be responsible for a add-on pack. In Greece's case in particular after 5 awesome levels I still hungered for more.
So, if Unfinished Business was set in Peru and in Greece, what kind levels would you like to see?
Um, can I like give descrpitions? Well, I have four levels that I think would be great. I liked Egypt and stuff, but I personally think that Greece is so much more interesting than Atlantis and Egypt. Peru, is, well, meh. Its interesting, but we already know so much about it, and I think the Greek Empire still has much more things, but four levels.
Greece
Level 1: Ancient temple of Zeus
Lara discovers an underground pit in the St. Francis Folly, while she is still exploring the great unkown shrine of Domacles. She starts to dig her way into an underground paradise. Incredible grass and towering trees cloud her. Beautiful architecture and impressivly detailed fountains and waterfalls cover most of the landscape. As she walks toward the doors of the amazingly large Manor, she tries to find any ancient artifacts, but non were found in this area. As she enters, she finds traps and incredible architerture in here as well, but for better or worse, she could still die from the traps. Most of them contained knifes or axes. She sees a waterway with a waterfall at the end of this incredible well thought out boobietrap system. She could smell the flesh of a dead body, and something was coming. What was it?
Level 2: The Shrine of the Gods
A more dark feeling atmosphere was entered in this room. Rats, spiders, and many more disgusting things came in as Lara had entered the room. A distinguised figure was there, it was a statue of Cupid holding his arrow to Athena as she fell to the ground, or at least the symbolism said so. She knew that all of these incredibly detailed and beautous statues were some kind of weapon against enemies who came into this shrine. She heard water, and beautiful waterfall was in the small room. Lara dove into the simple seeming water. As she was swimming, something bumped into her. She looked back, barracudas. She knew she couldn't shoot them in water, soe she found a way to hide, but lost so much breath. Escaping the water hell, Lara entered calm place, with a key on a statue of Poseidon. She heard a rumbling. The floor started to crack, and 50 foot tall realistic statues came out of the ground. It wasn't a set of statues, they were real. All the gods wouldn't let Lara have the key, so she had to find a way to kill them off. She noticed the large boulders on the Hill.
Peru
Level 3: The great Peruvian pyramid of Light
Lara had the key, and she read the descrpition on the large key, it was written in Spanish. It said, " The Peruvian Pyramid is in the Mountain of the great, find the secret of life and death," She knew where to go after she read that helpful descrpition. She found it after hours of looking through many places. Massive, large, and golden with light, Lara uses the key to open the large door. This place was old, Lara could tell is was older than the Egyptians. The dead await Laras arrival, the secret of Life and Death is at hand.
England
Level 4: A happy return home
As Lara returns home, to Croft Manor, Lara finds that people have been searching through her artifacts. Most of her artifacts and ancient relics were gone. She heard some people laughing and talking up in her manor lounge. She ran up into the large room, making a dramatic arrival, and seeing that the theives weren't any people, it was Pierre. Lara was very tempted to kill him right at the stake, but she decided to go for a chase. Pierre has most of the relics in his bag that he carried throughout Laras house. Grabbing her shotgun, Pierre thought he was for sure going to kill Lara, but Lara had many different plans. What do you think some of her plans are?
You can comment my thought of the game that I wish that I saw, but whatever.

I have a bit of a passion for Greek mythology, Erussack. This sounds great! :tmb:
Yeah, I'd love to see more Greek and Peruvian action in a special Edition TR one day :D
Somebody should make this unfinished business with the level editor. Your ideas sound great Erussack. I am a bit confused about how Pierre was still alive though.

Unfinished buisness is ment to be played right after TR1, though its a bit mixed up, you really need to play atlantis BEFORE EGYPT, the timeline is like this.
1) Lara slides down the shaft after defeating natla.(TR1)
2) And into the Hive. (UB)
3) Escapes Atlantis. (UB)
4) FMV showing lara escape from exploding island. (TR1)
5) Years later lara returns to egypt for some reason. (UB)
So for the genuine experience and feel of TR1, play TR1 from begining to end , skip the first 2 levels of UB, finish it then view the TR1 finish FMV on youtube, then play the first two levels of UB.
So thats what you need to do.

I have found a way of swapping the Atlantis levels with the Egyptian levels around.
One problem is that the names don't change, so the Atlantean Stronghold is actually called 'Return to Egypt' etc..., oh well who cares? At least it gives you the feel of the timeline right :)
To do it, is by renaming the data files, basically. This should be it -
EGYPT.TUB - END2.TUB
END2.TUB - EGYPT
CAT.TUB - END.TUB
END.TUB - CAT.TUB
or
CAT.TUB - END2.TUB
END2.TUB - CAT.TUB
EGYPT.TUB - END.TUB
END.TUB - EGYPT.TUB
Try it out and please send feedback if it works your end, should do.
I figured this out myself, by thinking about the script! :) Thanks to TRLE showing how scripts work.
btw - You will obviously need to move the files around, in a different folder, otherwise you'll get that message saying there is already this name...

It would be nice if they did make a Peru and a Greece bonus. However I think it would be a bit much.
