View Full Version : New Lara model, means: New Amanda?
I was just thinking, the new Lara looks awesome, can we imagine what the next gen-Amanda looks like?
What are some things about the old "Amanda" you would like to see change, or improve on?
With me I think she resembled Lara too much. I think she should be adjusted to be more unique, especially in facial features.

I think Amanda looked a bit too much like Lara too. I hope they tweak Amanda's model in TRU(if she returns) so she will look less like Lara and more like Amanda(if that makes sense).

Never paid too much attention to her specifics. If she's back, leave her the way she is is what i say. Just my opinion on this. :)

I'm not too pleasant with her either, but that's why I want her improved. If she looks half-way decent, and was given a makeover (not so-Goth), I would like her a lot more. :p
I think it's obvious she'll get really make-overed unless she doesn't appear in the game. :p
If she comes back, I wish they'd change her hair. The style is fine (not great, but fine), but it looks like it's made of plastic.

EDIT: i don't hope she'll return, because i don't want to fight against the same enemy again. furthermore Lara would have not let her alive, if she wasn't sure, that she won't return.
but if she'll return though, there's a lot to be improved on her look then...

I also dislike amanda. But I have to say the odds say she will probably be in. As well as zip and alister.A nd yes it makes sence to have every character more detailed since its supposed to be a really good looking game

I think everything on her should be redone, the 1 thing they need to keep is her short hair cuz if not shell most likely look like Natla from Anniversary.

It's true, next gen Lara but no next gen Amanda would be lame. But that's minor tweaking, I don't know that her actual physical appearance will change.
Would we want to see her be a good guy again? Or continue on being a bad girl?

1. Anya looks totaly like Lara and there was even a Mod to make Lara black and if you put them together, you can see they almost match. ;)

Nope, i quite enjoyed her character :D Her appearance depends on the nature of her return, assuming she does come back.
I wouldn't want a complete face change, jus a few features to be tweaked.
If she returned, in an antagonist role, id like for her to have maybe longer hair, and not as BIG as it was in Legend. Maybe a change in clothing, the dark goth look that says "my friends thought i died and i cant get over it" thing doesn't do it for me. Maybe a bit more colour in her face, she always seemed too pale for me
Maybe something slightly more formal? An evil woman in a suit is brilliant in my opinion :tea:
If she returned in a good way, longer hair again, and maybe she could slip back into her tomb raiding gear we see in peru? If she's gonna lend Lara a hand, why not in appropriate clothing :jmp:

I liked how Amanda looked in Legend. So if the new model is a more polygon-rich version of the old one, it'll be fine with me :)

Something tells me that the reason Amanda wanted to go was one of the untied aftermath problems of Legend that will be solved in Underworld and who ever said she was a villian? Whenever her and Lara were near eachother, it was near enough always Lara being the aggresor (sp). Amanda actually always told Lara to stop following her.
I hope Amanda has some sort of scarring due to the blow she took from Lara's pistol whip. That'd be pretty cool :)

I´d also love Amanda to look like the concept art you posted, Conway :o She looks fantastic, much better than the one we got in Legend. Though I´d do something about those rubber trousers (:p) but the rest is fantastic :D
There´s a lot of cool Legend artwork that didn´t make it into Legend (really cool artwork)...and if such artwork (scenarios and THIS Amanda) does make it into Underworld, I´ll be more than happy :)
P.S.: I love Ugly Betty´s Amanda...
I hope she appears only to die in horrible way two seconds later and I hope she´ll take all Legend characters with her too.

She was, without a doubt, the lamest, wettest, most intolerable villain from any TR game so far. Every time she opened her mouth, all I could see was Phil and Lil from Rugrats and that kinda spoiled the illusion of her being a so-called villain.
Get rid of her for TRU, that's what I say. Have a character that is actually a worthy adversary. Ruthless, cunning and bad to the bone!
I hope Amanda gets killed off in Underworld.

I liked her there. Also I would like the fact that her hair can actually move and is not stiff..

I can picture something like this for Amanda in TRU:
The player gets to have a shootout with Amanda in some wicked awesome tomb or in Avalon.
After you get Amanda down there is a cutscene.
One again we find Lara with a gun to Amandas head, but she is beelding and badly hurt (Lara is, not Amanda)
And then Lara saying something like:
I should have kill you in Bolivia when I had the chance!
Then a tight shot of Lara's finger as she pulls the triger.
Or a view of the back of Amandas head when Lara shoots her.
(M Raiting) The back of Amandas head blows out and she falls to the ground.

i actually hope her hair would MOVE in TRU instead of being stiff. it annoys the crap out of me.
I'd want her to return as a more mysterious character who is bad and kind of watches her from afar.
She doesn't help Lara in any way, but instead tries to make things more complicated for her. Like if Lara had to quickly run away from something bad, Amanda shows up right in the middle, only to cause trouble. But, I wouldn't want her as the main bad guy. Just a minor return and she dies sometime during the middle.:mis:
Oh yeah, and give her a more unique hairstyle. maybe her short hair pulled back similar to a bun with strands hanging from the back. And maybe some short bangs, i don't know. Just something to make her stand out and be more memorable.;)
And make sure she has a "not-too-obvious" scar from where Lara pistol-whipped her in Bolivia.

LOL, tell me about it. The first time I saw Amanda, Anaya and Amelia, I was quite disappointed that they all looked like Lara. Makes you think that they just copied and pasted Lara's face and tweaked it a bit. Amelia's an exception though, since she is supposed to like Lara.

Amanda needs her own unique appearance this time. I don't want to see Lara in a wig or a Natla clone trying to pass off as a new character. Keep the basics to her appearance like her small size, the goth influence and the tattoos, but everything else should be redesigned.
Same goes for Anaya if she returns. She should have her own unique appearance instead of Lara having dark skin and dreadlocks.

I liked her too, even if she was Natla Jr. I won't date her again though, just as friends. When we went out she wanted me to dye my hair black, wear makeup, and pierce everything. Just a little too weird for my tastes!

Ugh, God. That concept drawing of Amanda is no good in terms of creating a good villian. All this talk of Legend Lara being a Barbie doll? That's a freaking Barbie doll.
I don't care much for Amanda. I thought that brief glimpse of her on the helicopter in Bolvia made her seem mysterious and dark, but after her character is revealed, she was just annoying. There's almost a childish aura about her.
And she did look too much like Lara. I think if she was thinner and had a more gaunt look to her, Amanda would look more like a villian and not some 20-year-old goth broad. I'd love to see some refinements on her character should she return.

Amanda was already a bit skinnier than Lara in Legend, they could change the height a bit, but she could be smaller than Lara
Most of what they should change is her facial features to be less alike to Lara
but I love her style, tattoos, and revealing outfit, all that should stay.

Amanda has never been a villain. She is just a person who wants to accomplish hew own mission (like Rutland and Takamoto). Villains are in generally the main foes of the hero of the situation, in this case Lara, and Mandy has not interest in killing her. Even if she fights against Lara, her purposes (revenge for Rutland's death, envy, etc.) are too weak for defining her the major villain. So Amanda is just one of the characters of Legend. Crystal Dynamics is working on the saga idea, and this doesn't mean that every chapter has its own major villain. I'm sure that someone else is behind everything... and S/HE will be our little villain. :)
I actually liked Amanda. Sure shes no good as a villain but I loved her character, like the way she seemed so bitter and twisted and I liked the gothic look she has cos there never has been a gothic villain in any TR. Anyway she does need a slight tweak so she looks alot less like Lara but her gothic look should stay. :tmb:
