indiana jones emperors tomb xbox 360 problem

hi there

having recently bought a 360 i thought i'd invest in the xbox emperors tomb.
even though an update for the 360 is available when i try it the console already seems up to date and won't install it.
subsequently i cannot play the game.
an ideas?

What makes you think there is an update for it? I'll go and check to see if its on the list

EDIT: Yep it's on the list so the latest update should get it to work. What happens when you put the disc in? Have you checked the disc in another Xbox to make sure its not damaged?

it identifies the disc as indiana jones but leaves a message saying an update is needed.
my console will play the xbox game buffy the vampire slayer so i am reasonably confident the console is ok.
i had read on the indiana jones website that someone had the same problem as me but nobody had got back to his query, which is why i asked here.
i have yet to test it on another machine but the person who sold it to me says it worked on the original xbox.
the surface of the disc looks in pretty good shape.

still a problem - got another disc and this won't play either.
has anybody had the same problem?

Hmm, rather unusual. I would try buring the latest backwards compatabilty update to disc from the website and use that to update the console. Worth a try.
