For the first time in a home console, users will be able to record gaming footage without any outside sources as the PS3 continues to push the envelope for user-created content and Game 3.0. The first game that will feature the ability will be the free-to-download Mainichi Issho - a Sony Playstation Network title in Japan. A report from Nikkei Net states that development kits which feature this ability are being sent to various developers so hopefully some big name titles will feature the ability soon.

Egads that's technical! So now you'll be bale to record you playing games and your favourite shows off of the TV? The PS3 truly is more than just a games console...

Update from Sony:

"[UPDATE] Responding to GameSpot's request for comment, a Sony representative confirmed the YouTube integration is now available in all regions. As noted by Nikkei, SCE is handing out the development software to various studios, and it's up to individual developers to decide whether to offer it in their games," according to the Sony representative. YouTube's API blog has more information on the deal. "
