Its not much but it is Underworld related, shows the level from Mexico l believe, after she has broken through and climbed down to the lower level.

Perhaps they are recruiting for TR9, or just thought Lara's latest game looked interesting enough to recruit some new talent.

Pretty sure they would be, they looked climbable in the screenshots, but l think the room looks better in the add, lighting seems much more atmospheric and interesting from that angle.

That looks interesting, apart from those lovely eye-catching perfectly cut ledges....

They are no more perfectly cut than the ones built flush with the wall on the adjoining side, they are probably even the same colour but look lighter because the light is reflecting off them, things that stick out do usually seem a different colour. It would not be unusual for a different coloured stone to be used as a decorative feature in a situation like that anyway.

And did not think to share it with us? I do not suppose you would also happen to have that very nice Riley Cooper interview from the August 2006 issue, unfortunately l do not have that issue.

I wasn't active on TRF in Feb that was when I got this issue. I have the Riley Cooper interview from the August issue it some where, I will have to look for it.

Is there some place online where I can buy the magazine that you know of Aussie? I read Gamasutra all the time but the magazine is probably even more in-depth.

Thanks for posting btw. Can't wait to finish my major so I can get a internship or a QA position somewhere...

Thanks for posting. :tmb: Those white ledges really do ruin the room's beauty, though...and I'm not a fan of Lara's silhouette. Looks a tad masculine and slightly hunched. :o

Thanks, but I personally think they could have done better. It's kind ugly. Just my opinion.

Needs a byline,

"only those interested in resurrecting TR to it's former glory need apply"

Larapink

"only those interested in resurrecting TR to it's former glory need apply"
That won't happen, most games designers only look forward and take what works now and use technology that is the most recent.

Sorry, today's byline would read more like...

"take a classic and hack it to bits, it will sell on name recognition alone anyways..." :hea:

"take a classic and hack it to bits, it will sell on name recognition alone anyways..." :hea:
That is just the way it is in the games industry, everything only moves forward. Anniversary was a great example of this, it is based on a classic but there was so many things that CD added into the game. So it really isn't a classic more like an updated version of the first game.

Are you kidding me? Anniversary wasn't a great example of that all. Annivesary was average, mediocre because they were too busy concentrating on TRU.

Wasn't a seperate team used to make Anniversary? Also Anniversary wasn't mediocre nor average, it's just your opinion that defines it as that.

But, if I'm going to be honest.. I think they could have made a better pic for that add.

They have back issues available or you can get a digital version, l was looking at purchasing the digital one when they offered a sample for free which turned out to be February's issue. :D

The Legend article is a very good in depth one which l have patiently waited for someone to post, l finally gave up and started looking for it myself yesterday. l believe the article is based on a presentation that Crystal Dynamics did for the International Game Developers Association.
http://www.igda.org/sf/0605.htm

Since it basically deals with a similar situation that Core Design faced and failed to overcome l was interested in seeing how Crystal Dynamics approached the problem, unfortunately l have not yet had a chance to read the article though. :(

Pardon me while I knock you off your high-horse and then slap you around some but there was a different team of people working on anniversary while another team was working on Underworld. It's been repeated time and time again. Or do you just listen to the things you can bash on?
