I think they serve an important pupose to be honest. Its important for the guys at Crystal and Eidos to see what is being done wrong, otherwise how can it be put right? A perfect example of this is the G.r.o.w.l thread. :)

Nope. The "get rid of" threads usually express dislike for several things I think SHOULD and COULD be changed in the games, so I agree with them.

I don't mind the G.R.O threads if they are something many people want. But silly G.R.O threads that only few agree with are pointless IMO.

nobody likes when their job is under constant negative criticism.
it's not a good time either for us or tomb raider but I just hope that things will be changed. developers want to release a good game, players want to get a good game all deamands are fair and natural. I just try to be optimistic now :)

This thread is just as legitimate as any other G.R.O. thread. After all we must say that 1 or 2 G.R.O. threads were more than enough. It seems that recently everyone makes a G.R.O. thread out of something trivial.
I strongly support GROZAA and GROWL, but enough is enough, and if this continues soon we will have a new GRO thread everyday.
I see jay's point on creating this thread, because some of the GRO threads are becoming ridiculous...

Look, either a position is defensible or it isn't. If a point is valid and the argument sound, than others will see the value in it and get on board. Certainly others will see it the opposite way and add their two cents (Endow anyone?), and this makes for intersting and many time enlightening banter.
Members have strong opinions and sometimes post them forcefully and with passion. Sometimes many are in agreement, and sometimes not. Personally I laugh at some of the posts, and many times nod my head in agreement. I see no harm in these threads whatsoever, in fact they make for pleasant and sometimes beneficial conversation, along with the occasional snipe. I enjoy reading what stirs up other TR forum members and gets their goat. Most times I can predict which members will fall on what side in the discussion. But other times a member will totally surprise me with an unpredictable opinion and response. That is when one can respect that member for forming an independent and objective opinion. Not simply falling in line as one would expect from a homer or a simple complainer.

Imo this thread reaching so far is amazing... As already said by many, GRO threads are for those that don't like something specifically. Personally I don't like white ledges, Zip and Alister on TRs, Kurtis Trent, mommy story, Emo Lara, and some other stuff that will surface with time. If I'm not happy with them then all I have to do is going to a place where I'm understood, instead of starting a war with those that like what I don't.
Also, personally I see this thread as offensive to me and to those that joined GRO threads. We all stand against something all we want changes in the next TRs, and you make joke of us with this thread (I'm not referring to the KTEB here, because they like Kurtis and defend him, and I can't force them to not like him just because I don't like him)

Yeah, you must be finding it all a bit disheartening and wearisome.
I'd like to say that i personaly think crystal are doing an amazing job with Lara and Tomb Raider, it's just that complaining is so much easier than congratulating...:D
Seriously though, i just want it to be as good a game as it can be, and i for one acknowledge that some of us are extremely ungrateful b**tards.

Have you visited the GROWL thread? :) it seems anyone who drops by decides to sign up.. and a slight majority (if I remember correctly) supports the noble cause of GROZAA... I agree that some GRO-threads seem a bit unnecessary, but not all of them are..

Absolutely, damn things are a menace to a nice enjoyable read. Nothing like reading through how all the "fans" cannot stand some change in the new games, they all fancy they can make the game better than the developer these days.

I do READ the other G.R.O threads, only reason dont comment on them is because anything i say will be taken down and used against me in a court of law, erm, i mean forums (ie will be more analysed then Britney's daily routine) and people will think i say something because it means this or that. So for sheer `not going there` safety i dont post.. :)

Iīm in those threads gets boring. I can understand why people gets annoyed with Z and A so they should be optional, but I donīt understand why people dislike the mummy and daddy storyline so much, I think itīs kind of interesting, but itīs was wrong to change the original biograph, and it wasnīt any need for it Amelia could have disapear when Lara was an adult but itīs to late to change that now. I donīt think searching for her parents is a sign of weakness, even the toughest guy cares about his mother or at least most people do. I would be more upset if her parents disapear and she didnīt care at all that would just make her a heartless *****. And about TR being about adventure and not mummy and daddy isnīt searching for her parents in some creepy jungle an adventure? :rolleyes:
GROWL can be justified though since it affect the gameplay, even though I can live with white ledges as long as the whole game isnīt obvious.

I suppose youīre right but I get tired about hearing people complain about that mummy and daddy story which I donīt think is a big problem it feels like they just hate it because CD made it. Lara having some emotions doesnīt make her weak but human. I donīt think CD are perfect there are thing that can be improved like the lineary and easinest of the levels and I was definitely disappointed with the cut levels in TRA but CD has also done a lot of good things but doesnīt seem to get any credit for it. I can agree that changing the original biograph was wrong but the story is what it is now so get over it and come with good critisism instead. :p

Obviously people should be able to come with good criticism, but sometimes it feels like people never satisfied no mather what CD does and thatīs tiring - some people even complain about her hair like thatīs a big thing and now people complain about her wetsuit like it mather if it has shorts or not. Okey maybe it will look more natural with shorts but it also looks fine the way it is. It feels like there are bigger things for CD to focus on like gameplay.

Crystal are the developer, Eidos is the publisher. We do all the publisher stuff
We dont only make Tombraider games remember. Theres a lot of other games coming thru us that are nearer to completion etc..

At the risk of sounding cheeky, may I ask why Eidos no longer publish the Lego Star Wars games?
We had agreement to do first game, and it was a great success, that catapulted the title into the mainstream and obviously when it came to bidding for the next ones a lot more people were interested in it. TT games had to make a decision who to go with, they picked someone else (more money offered? who knows)
I love the whole lego series, looking forward to batman as much as i was to indy :)

oh hell yeh.. Was little worried about Indy since the use of the force etc was being replaced with Whip etc, so wasnt sure how it was gonna mix in , but loved it :)
