I have a friend that also has a PS3 and we would like to copy items from one console to the other (eg. Demos, full games, videos, songs, photos). If I were to insert a memory stick into my memory stick slot, (We both have a 60GB PS3) what process would I then have to go to to copy items to that memory stick?

Moderators, please feel free to close this thread as soon as I recieve a proficient answer.

Thankyou to all replies. :)

You go to the file you want to copy, press Triangle, and then choose "Copy". That should be all. :)

I see that I can copy images, songs and videos, but am I able to copy demos and PSN downloaded games?

Don't think so. You can create a profile on your friend's PS3, link it to your PSN account and re-download the demos and stuff onto his machine. I think. May be wrong on that, though, have never actually tried it!

I doubt that you'll be able to copy over games, as if you paid for them, its like giving them away for free. They probably have some kind of Copy protection on them.

you CAN do this though. create a new account on your friends PS3 and on the Playstation Network bit on the XMB, choose create new account, where it asks you to enter new information, choose NO and select "i already have a PSN account" or something simular. put your e-maill adress and password here to allow you to gain access to your PSN account. then simply choose "downloaded items" in the PSN store to show you a list of everything you have downloaded :wve:

if you have any problems PM me :tmb:

I don't know what PM means but I still have a question.
Would my friend still have to wait hours for the items to download again, even if I make a profile on his PS3? The reason I wanted to transfer demos and other content is because, He has his console in his bedroom and if he sets his PS3 up to download overnight, he claims that it runs too lowd and that he has to turn it off so he can sleep. I want to make it easier on him. :)

PM just simply means Personal Message :p

right okay back to the question: you will still have to spend hours downloading all the content again, because you are downloading it to a new system. its a pain i know but tell your friend that if he puts a desk fan next to the ps3, it will run more quietly. the only reason for the noise is that the fan inside the ps3 system is spinning faster in order to suck more air in to keep the console cooler. ;)

some memory devices don't work. 1 of my memory sticks dont and one does. Try using a different device. :)
