Before i start i ll tell you thats my friends opinion not mine.So dont tell you suck and things like that.Anyway.Thats what he says:

Why do people buy xbox360 and ps3s.If they have a pc that can play crysis for example why should thay take a ps3 and play crysis on it.And i know there are titles on ps3 for example which are good. For example tekken, uncharted drakes forutne, halo 3 etc.But is it worth buying a ps3 when you have a powerfull pc for just 2 games which are ps3/xbox360 exclusive? He wants to ask a ps3/xbox360 owner which has a powerfull pc this question:Why did you spend money on this gaming console when you have a powerfull pc and the most games come both on pc and ps3/xbox360

Any xbox360/ps3 owner with a great pc which can play todays games ok, would be greatful if he replied

Thank you

All I can say to that is just go with what you like to play games on. :)

For me it's all about games and ease of use. Most of the great games nowadays come out on consoles and are designed with them in mind, even if they are not exclusives they usually come out on console quite a bit before PC. With a console you pop the game in and play, simple as that, can you say the same for ANY PC game?

A better question would be, if you already own a console, why fork out so much money for a top end PC which needs to be constantly updated and maintained when the only benefit is slightly nicer graphics (usually played on 19" monitors) and the VERY occasionally exclusive (compared to the high number of console exclusives coming out every week).

At the end of the day its what works best for you, different strokes for different folks.

mainly because of the fact that many console games arent released on PC. My PC isnt the best but its capable of running any game out there, Plus I own a PS3. I really only bought it for Final Fantasy and Soul Calibur, and all of my other favourite franchises that arent on PC.

Someone above posted that PCs have to be updated to keep up with standards, which is a very good point. With a PS3 you are set for the next 5 or more years.

That's a very good reason. People know that a console isn't going to be pout of date within a year.

Basically, ask yourself the Question- why would you pick a PC over a console? Many of the answers you come up with can be turned on their heads and used to answer your question.

I can see why people who have a good PC buy another console, but for some reason I fail to understand why they buy more consoles than one.
More so, why do a lot of people buy the same game for two or more different consoles?

An OK computer for gaming is in $400-$600 ranges
A really great gaming computer is $1000+

Many just can not afford that.

A console is $200-$400

Much more doable for many.

There are a lot of console games that will never be ported to a PC.

Granted a console will never achieve what can be done on a PC. That is one of the reasons I recently bought a new PC. But most of my gaming is on a console and I am happy with it.

For me it was always nice to have the option of checking out multiplatform reviews and getting the version deemed better.

Also there are quite a few genres that have no real representation on the PC side of things, while the only popular "PC genre" that seldom-ly gets console attention is Strategy.

I feel able to answer this question since I have done it numerous times :D.

For me it's just how much I enjoy the game. Tomb Raider for example is something I enjoy massively (more than massively even) and I like to be able to get the experience as many times as I can as each console/machine gives a different experience. Even if it's very slight, it's still different. The PC can give higher framerates and the ability to mod and download mods; the Xbox 360 has Achievements and a great controller; the PS3 usually gets extra content due to alater release; the PSP is obviously smaller and so is "On the go" and it usually has some extra stuff; DS doesn't have the capabilities of the consoles so it's different experience because it has to be made differently and the Wii has the motion controls.

Really it's just how much I enjoy the game and I don't mind shelling out for it again. I wouldn't mind buying Mass Effect or Assassin's Creed again for the PC because I enjoyed them that much plus I'd get smoother graphics and extra features.

Not the best answer in the world but that's it for me. I enjoy the game. I don't mind.

As for the actual topic at hand the answer has been said many times. Many exclusives do not come out on the PC so it's for the ability to be able to play games not normally found on the PC and that also have a slim (if any if it's a Nintendo or Sony exclusive) chance of ever playing.

Cheaper, more reliable, better variety of games.

I love the fact that I can buy a game for my PS3 and I know it;s going to work. And it's going to work the same on any PS3 I put it into, it's not going to crash every five minutes and I won't have to upgrade it (costing me a fortune) every 6 months to play the latest games. For me, the constant out-dating that happens with PCs just isn't acceptable given that generally, the only improvement over console versions of the same games is graphical.
