is that such a big problem that will prevent you from playing? I think there are bigger bugs to be handled.

There nothing wrong in that, when you have long hair in a ponytail sometimes it does move on your shoulder. The animation for her hair that is perfect, it's just detail really. Also it's not stopping you from playing.

No, it going in her back and out her belly

No that kind of error in animation or physics won't happen in Underworld, hopefully. :)

Yes but that doesn't really happen every single time. It isn't something that would affect gameplay that much. It's one of those things that I don't think you have to worry about, as sooner or later time will take care of that.

^^ all this questions are useless. No one can answer them but CD themselfs, and they have more things to worry about than this. You all will just have to wait.

To have a ponytail that long is rather unpractical for raiding tombs. Even if mods try to texture her ponytail to be that long it would be impossible because the length of the hair model isn't that long.

Lara doesn't care about fashion. Plus the plait is her thing. the hairstyle that makes her recognizable. each time you see a person with a loooong plait don't you have the instant association to Lara? I think everyone does.

Imo,in the old TRs you could only tell that it was a braid during FMVs.In the actual game it looked like a ponytail that was tied on both ends.
And it's just hair! The ponytail and braid are almost the same thing. It's not like they made Lara bald(the vman:mis:)or made her hair short.:)

so? A braid is tighter and harder to fall apart and loosen up. Its far more practical and comfortable. Plus looks better. And not to mention this is a game... that its tied quicker or stays with its right shape longer isnt an issue when we are talking about a game. take Altair's hood for example. When he starts running and jumping, teh hood doesnt fall on his holders because of the wind... because its a game

:wve:ANYWAY back to the topic at hand. Persnally I think this is a good thread for CD to come and take a look at, b/c if they're going to make Lara more realistic as stated earlier, than her hair should be the same. It's not like I'm overobsessed as to whether it is fixed or not, I'm here 50/50. But, if CD does want it to be better and look EXTRA presentabe, than yeah they should def fix the problem with Lara's hair glitches. I mean, st some points in the game, it rather does get quite annoying. So, yeah. People stop complaining about useless threads and blah blah blah, b/c it's not really for you guys to decide, whether or not it is one. And this has not been mentioned b4 (If i can recall). So, everyone just answer the question and back off of the whole useless threads crap. B/c honestly, I've looked at some of everyone of you guys threads. And TBH, some of them are pretty crappy and useless, as are some of mine. So stop HATING!

Ponytail v. braid doesn't bother me as much as how much length she's lost since Legend. If it gets any shorter she really will look like a little girl with that high ponytail :p As long as she's got those thigh holsters, she'll still be recognisable for the most part.

Well back to the original point again, having played 8 games with Lara's hair falling through her neck and other parts of her anatomy it would be nice to finally sort out the collision detection problem. Lara's hair has been getting shorter lately, so perhaps this time it will not be long enough for us to see it poking out of her shoulder/chest/neck on odd occasions, l preferred Lara with the long braid though, but it seems it is just to much for the developers to get it right. It is hardly going to ruin the game for me if they did not fix it.

That is probably the best attitude to have.

I am hoping the ponytail will be single strands of hair pulled back, but they still seperate rather than being a huge clump that looks glued together. I saw a trailer of DOA on the 360 (even though I don't play the games) and the females have their hair down and it is all single hair strands, which was very impressive. It moved over their shoulders and then down their back.

If Computer Animated Movies can fix the Hair problem and even go through the smallest detail by going from screen to screen, why cant Game Developers do that.

We got Threads like:

Hair color
Ponytail
Braid
Boobs
Butt
Finger Nails
Shoes
Feet

So are we giving Game Developers a Good sence of Direction or do we make them feel Small as if we can do a better Job then they.

Both are real time, rendering.

A CG movie is not real time rendering.. its pre-rendered.

Keeping this on topic.. Games render `polygons` so hair is made up of polygons, more detailed means more polygons, means more power needed, just to render the hair.. theres a compromise :)

I agree, there's always a glitchs in her hair and we reach the next-gen it shouldn't be that obvious.
But damn, who cares about her hair, it's like when I see a thread about her make-up. Get a life. No seriously I understand you but no need to create a thread for that. ;)
