I picked up the new PS3 Metal Gear Solid 4 Bundle Pack today. I had only planned on getting a plain 20 GB PS3, but the store ran out, so I just decided to upgrade. It's freakin' awesome! I've played Uncharted more than anything. :mis:

It got overloaded with dust meaning it overheated frequently unless I'd turn it off after using it VERY briefly. Plus, my hard drive corrupted while playing GTAIV. So, I'm in the process of getting another. I'm on the waiting list for a 60GB model.

As of today, I've still played a lot more Uncharted than anything else. It's so amazing. I'm only on level 9, but that's because I have an extremely short attention span and I take a lot of breaks from my games. Usually to watch a movie or something. I've also started over on Metal Gear Solid 4, because the storyline is sooooo confusing. I wish there was more gameplay and a little bit of training because I suck at the (extremely short) gameplay segments. I've also played a bit of Assassin's Creed, although, I'm extremely let down. I played it back in November and liked it, but when I compare it to my other PS3 games, it's just not that good. Oh well. I'll probably borrow Grand Theft Auto IV from a friend of mine soon. I've played it and I love it, so I want to try and beat it. It's amazing! :D

It's leading game, Halo, is a shooter,

It's why I tend not to like the 360, as I'm not a massive fan of FPS

You should have waited a few more weeks, our computer shop got a notice that the prices for the PS3s will probably drop after the Xbox dropped them too.

If they don't drop in about 1 month then it will be a few months from now.

At the E3 Media & Business Summit, Sony announced it was introducing a new PlayStation 3 model with a built-in 80 GBhard drive for $399, replacing Sony’s current 80GB PS3 which retails at $499. The new 80GB model essentially doubles the storage capacity of Sony’s currently offered 40GB PS3 model, which is also priced at $399. The new 80GB PS3 will start shipping in September, according to a statement on Sony’s Web site. The new 80GB PS3 will also include integrated Wi-Fi and a built-in Blu-ray player, but like the old 40 GB model it will not be backwards compatible with PlayStation 2 games. The 40GB version of the PS3 will eventually be phased out, Reuters reported.

Sony’s announcement comes after Microsoft cut the price of the 20GB Xbox 360 to $299 from $349. Microsoft also plans to introduce a new 60GB Xbox 360 model that retails for $349, to eventually replace the 20GB model, which will be gradually phased out. This price cut is not Sony’s only salvo against Microsoft. Sony announced earlier at E3 that it would be introducing a new video distribution service, as competition for Microsoft Xbox Live, according to Reuters. In addition to watching videos on their PS3s, users will also be able to transfer downloads to their PSPs for portable viewing. With these new announcements from both Sony and Microsoft, Nintendo’s next move is open to question.

Mine arrived yesterday and it's caked in dust already. :yik: I didn't know the console was so big and hefty lol. So far I've played about 2 and a half hours of Metal Gear Solid 4 and spend about the same amount of time on GTA4. Both are awesome. Uncharted should be arriving today. :D

I also downloaded Medievil from the PSN Store but haven't really had a good look at what the PSN is all about yet. To Add people, do I just need their PSN IDs or do they have to have mine as well?

i'm not into baseball or most field sports to be honest :D

I don't really know the technical aspects of it... but we've been buying and renting Blu Ray movies and loving them! It really takes our home theater set-up to the next level watching in High Definition! :D

A lot of people on this forum don't like sports games--and if they do it's soccer, which is understandable outside the States. The game is a true wonder, though, in how well it represents the sport it's trying to emulate. To me it's among Sonys' crowning jewels as far as PS3 games go... and it is one of their best sellers too. I can't wait for next years' game already!

i can't stand football/soccer, it's dull, so is cricket and rugby to be honest

give me 4 wheels and i'll watch it...i only watch/play racing games :D
