as in the grapple icon, exclamation marks... stuff like that?
i'm not THAT bothered, tbh. But if theres an option to turn them off (like in Anniversary) which is extremely likely since i can't see why they'd take that option away... then i'd have them off. ;)

Too early to tell. I don't mind them all that much, but sometimes I would prefer it if the only icon that appears is her health or ammo bar.

I don't particularly mind them, but we didn't have them in TRs 1-6, and I'd be far happier if you could turn them all off, including target things.

I don't care for them at all. They appear very clutterd and are very obtrusive IMO. :( Wish they had stayed with the more traditional on-screen icons. Not sure why CD felt the need for a change with this. :confused: :(

I don't understand what you mean. Why is this poll dumb? :confused: It's expressing whether or not you like the new style icons in Underworld. More specifically the ones in the upper-left corner of the screenshot that are her health? icon symbol and the weapons icon. ;) :)
And the choice isn't "I don't care ABOUT them" it's "I don't care FOR them at all" which means you don't like them. ;)

The new style icons that are supposively her health and weapons icons. ;)
Without actual confirmation to what they are i didn't want to presume they are her health and weapons icons when i asked for this poll. ;) :)

actually i thought yu were talking about the icons that show up while moving the stones in the underwater gameplay... in that case i dont like them at all... we never had them before and i dont think they are nesecary,.. the rest like life bar or weapons signs i dont mind.:D...

anyway, i still don't mind what they use for the HUD, aslong as it is'nt too over the top cluttered and i prefer it when it's not on screen all the time. :)

But it doesn't say that. If you look at the third choice it clearly says: "Don't care FOR them at all" which does in fact mean that you don't like them. ;)
Get rid of them. Any kind of help is unwelcome.

I don't really like it because it seems too big to me. I prefer the long skinny health bar from early TR games which went across the top of the screen without cutting into the view too much. I also don't see the point of the weapons icon since we should be able to tell which gun Lara's holding by looking at her hands, right?:confused:
However, it does look smaller than the Blood Omen 2 HUD and I had absolutely no problems with that, so I will wait to see more before judging the new TRU HUD :) I have to see if the color and shape distract me or not.

Looks kinda...tacky to me.
I prefer a single line for health. I don't know why I need to see the guns... I want the least number of distractions on screen possible - that includes not having unnecessary gimmicky shapes and forms.
I don't want any help icons either in the gameplay. If these exist, then hopefully we'll be able to switch them off.
I don't need an "interaction icon" everytime I get near to a door handle or a moveable rock in the real world. As a baby growing to a small child, I learnt how to recognize patterns and navigate my way through a reality infinitely more complex than any game we can ever play, but somehow when I play Tomb Raider I need EXTRA HELP telling me that a lever can be pulled or a rock can be moved? I don't think so.

Yeah. The only justification for having a Lara-shaped health icon that I can think of is if she can damage individual body parts ala Deus Ex. If that's the case, then all I'm going to say is the moment she starts limping, I'm putting her down faster than a racehorse with a broken leg :whi:

Like several people have stated, I don't need a sign to tell me that the lever can be pulled. I though wish to comprimise anbd have the 'Help Icons' to be turned off.
I voted that 'They're OK' because sometimes I don't see the grapple ring, but other than that, I don't need them. I prefer Legend's way rather than Anniversary's, I didn't see a little icon, I saw shine, except for a few occasions.

The health bar? it looks like it came out of a fan made flash game, those really bright ones :o I'd get distracted by it, and it does look too tacky :s cause its going to be on the screen for the whole game :o otherwise I wouldn't mind.

I don't really like the healthmeter right now, it does look tacky. The only thing that I'd like to see are the grapple signals, but that's about it. I prefer the long line as well. I'm okay with it being smaller and taking up less space on the screen, but can we please not have it look so awkward? The Green Lady should go, or at least change the style so its not such an abstract color. The light blue color for the health meter in Anniversary and Legend were fine with me.

I did, but I saw the screenshot and hated the new icons anyway. :D
Seems ok to me. It makes no difference to me what they use.

"Don't care for them at all" DOES mean that "you hate them". It's just a milder way of putting it. If you hate them then that IS the third option. :) I didn't see the need to put a strong word like "hate" in the options.
If you still don't understand the options then i am sorry, but it seems easy enough for others and myself to understand. It is my first poll request so please forgive me. If i decide to post any future ones i will make sure to use a stronger choice of words such as the "I HATE" option. ;)

It was my fault because english is not my first language .:o Now I know there's a big diference if you use don't care about or don't care for. So you have done a nice poll and it is well done.
By the way, I would prefer none symbol or icon on the screen .
