Saw isn't a horror movie, even if it's marketed as such, it's more like gore and thriller. And though I'm here speaking only for myself as a big Saw fan, the reason I like it is certainly not because I just "want to see buckets of blood". It's because of the way the stories are set up and the surprising and imaginative traps. Mostly in the first movie which is by far the best. When I went to the cinema and watched it for the first time, I can tell you that no movie had surprised me and impressed me as much in YEARS. It was really refreshing and innovative and just because it became a successful franchise it shouldn't automatically make people judge it as dumb.

I'm saying it's the best I've seen in a while that actually cared about the story, rather than many others who think they can throw some random 6ft guy in a mask that they picked from a random pile and think they'll have a success. I'm a die-hard 80's horror fan, so I guess that's what appealed to me.

Tomb Raider Ascension.:) I actually quite enjoyed it.:D

There are tons of horror movies of many different kinds and I wouldnīt consider Raimiīs deliciously goofy horror fun to be the one to rule them all :). I adore Drag Me To Hell... I love it to bits and pieces but as far as horror go I would prefer more serious attempts to be on top of the genre as a whole... like Eden Lake :).

I watched Eden Lake a few nights ago. It is a brilliant tense British horror but my god it's terrifyingly horrible at the same time!:yik: My fingers were crossed the whole time for the poor female protagonist.:)

Did you hear that Meg? Guys can marry other guys now. So...this is awkward, but I mean, if they can do that, that is pretty much it for you, isn't it? I mean you as well pack it in. Game over.

:vlol:

I love Family Guy so much...

I re-watched the 2nd episode of season 7, I dreamed of Jesus... I don't like it so much... and I can't take Peter singing that song about the bird! :cln:

I found it highly disturbing, I had a tear in my eye for the woman at the end. There aren't many horror's that can make me cry.:o There was a point in the movie were I stopped seeing the children as children, but brutally disturbed human monsters. I felt the women could only be safe if she ended them all, esp the ring leader which was an uncomfortable thought in itself.:yik: A very powerful film that haunted me a bit after as I felt heart broken for the leading female.:(

I agree 100%. The point when the kids set them on fire was the moment I said screw them all. Sadly because the heroine did the same thing it all ended badly.

Seriously her screams that you hear when the parents drag her to the shower... *shudders*

Well there are books & comics but it actually started of as a gothic soap opera. It ran for over 1225 episodes in the USA in the 70's. There was a remake in the 90's as well that ran for 12 episodes.:)

Johnny Depp was a big fan of Dark Shadows & is apparently now going to play his favorite character from the series, vampire Barnabas Collins, for the silver screen. Johnny Depp fits like a glove when it comes to a Tim Burton production. I think he would make an excellent Barnabas Collins.:D

You can buy the the box set of 12 episodes really cheap. I bought the DVD recently after owning the comics but I never knew it was a TV show.:D The actor, Jonathan Frid, who plays Spock's father in the new Star Trek film played the vampire Barnabas Collins in the 90's show. I've borrowed the whole 2 series of MOH. I'm getting the feeling I am going to have to wade through a lot of bad episodes.

I did enjoy "Sick Girl' tho and will have a look for more of Angela Betiss's films. Sure it was silly but it was tongue in cheek which is good. I am not a big fan of horror films that take themselves too seriously and enivitably fall on their arse.

The next one I am going to watch is "Jenifer". I've heard that "Cigarette Burns" is good.

Have you seen "Imprint"? Even although it is not gory I found some parts of that hard to watch.

The World Is Not Enough was just on TV. Denise Richard's wet T-shirt provided us with a good ending.

Love the ending to Cruel Intentions. It's so satisfying. :)

I know! But I always feel really upset and bad for Sarah Michelle Gellar, and I know I shouldn't But I always do

The new season of Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List and I absolutely loved it! Kathy is so hilarious, I never get tired of listening to her,

that movie is great rowie, I always thought Stephen King was better writing this kind of material than his usual horror stuff.

Misery is Kingīs only real try at psychological horror (I mean Geraldīs Game wasnīt that bad but it was lacking any real character) and certainly one of his best books and movie adaptations of his work.

Plague Town - Dissapointment... some very creepy scenes but every action scene was horribly cut, acted and executed. The acting was as wooden as it can get.

Alien 3 (Special Edition)

<<<333 this version so much! All the extra scenes that were cut from the theatrical version add so much to the story and characters. And the bambi-buster PWNs the dog-buster sfm.

My one critique regarding this version is that I prefer the theatrical version of Ripleys sacrifice...I think it's more powerful, both visually and story-wise. :D
