I'm getting paid wednesday so Im going to update my computer a bit. It's an old gateway and Im running windows98. I need a better graphics card and anything to make my computer run faster. Im also going to get more memory. Any suggestions on what I should get. Im a bit of a novice at some of this. The most Ive done was get a burner and install it. I need to update it because I want to play Halo which I recently bought. It said my processor was too slow to run the game. :( Help

If you ask me your RAM is VERY SMALL to run and open any new-age game !!

For my 256RAM that I upgraded, AoD took half of it,damn,so when I finished it I had to UNINSTALLED ti so that it get get my damn mamo and all that RAM back,or most of it anyway.

You shouldnt have to uninstall a program to free up ram, unless you mean your hard drive (C:)

Infact you could do it all for less than $500...

Are you keeping the hard drive? You could keep the case too, might check the power supply unit to make sure it isn't less than 380watts...

Your biggest problem is that nearly everything needs updating. By the time you have finished changing all the parts you will have a new PC in an old box.

I'd go with Draco. You need to think about starting fresh. In the long run it will be cheaper.

There are a few places you can go to, to get help with building your own computer. It's not as hard as everyone thinks it is.

Let me know and I'll post a link.

It's another (computer) forum actually.

Register, go to tech support, and post your budget, computer experience and what you do mostly with your computer everyday, and they can most likely give you some ideas on what to buy.

If you search through the forum there you can find threads with people who needed help building their computer, got help, and now build like crazy. You could also post a thread about needing help putting your computer together and most likely someone will help out, no guarantees on this though...sometimes they are crabby...you know how computer people are http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif
