5 minutes ago I was kicking Natla's ass.
All these years growing up with lara and I never thought I would complete a classic tomb raider (I've completed AOD, legend and anniversary)
I was 4 years old when my dad bought Tomb Raider Gold and only my dad and my sister played it (coz i was terrified of playing it) but I absolutely loved watching it being played.
Now I'm ten years older, and I got Tomb raider to work on our XP and was ecstatic about playing it.
It was quite surreal, because of how difficult and scary the game looked when I was young and now I've completed it.
:jmp:
What was it like when for you, when you finished the first Tomb Raider?
And which game do you think is harder Tomb raider I or Tomb Raider II
Congratulations :D
I think TR II is a little harder.
Congrats on completing a ture classic you've joined so many of us. I can remember the first time i completed TR1 like it was yesterday. When you say it's a very scary game you're so right. The whole feeling of being alone in the game just adds to the tension. As to which i prefer i can't really answer as both TR1 and TR2 have so much to offer both adventures are so different imo.
Again congrats :tmb:
Congrats its a big game, are u giong to tomb raider 2 next?
Tomb raider 2 is the harder 1.

Well done to you:tmb:
Congrats you are Certainly Mega :tmb:
When I completed it, it certainly felt like a small achievement
TR2 seemed harder for me, the enemies made it feel like that anyway

Well done.
Congrats. I beat it last year for the first time. When my brother first got it I was terrified because of the scary music and all the animals jumping out at you. But after about 7 or 8 yrs, I decided I want to beat it. It's close bu Tomb Raider II is harder.
congrats on completing the game. i'm new to the forum by the way, but not to the tomb raider series of games. been playing the first tomb raider since it first came out and i still have the original version, complete case and all. i completed the game without any help from any guide and i will say it's a great feeling when you accomplish beating the whole thing. i never managed to play the gold version just the original version on the ps1. just yesterday i finished playing TR2 for like the 100th time, probably more. it's been a while since i played it. i wasn't very fond of TR3. but 4 and on i've loved. well except for angel of darkness, forget that one. but once again congrats. it's amazing that back when i first started playing TR1 i thought those graphics were amazing. but now i look at TR legend and anniversary and they look a lot better. lara sure has come a long way.

Good for you :D
Congrats :D
When you play the game when you're younger it feels great to finally complete it when you're older, even when you thought it was near impossible back in the day.
Umm...I'd say TRII was the harder one in terms of gameplay, level design etc. but that's counter-balanced by the improved game engine and the amount of supplies enemies drop.
Not to mention the very generous save-game system :D
So, move onto TRII now ;)

Awwwww well done?:jmp:
Personally i think TR2 is harder but its not that much harder =]

TR3 is definitely the hardest. I have not even completed some of the levels to this day. :o
Congratulations. I remember the first time I completed it. I was really sad! But then TR 2 arrived. :)
Tomb raider 3 no doubt the hardest.
Nice :D
I fnished it exactly 1 week ago, Monday. I was happy that I finished it because I didnt really like it very much and I knew that I liked TR 2 more, which was the next game I was going to play (planning on playing the entire serie).
For me TR 1 was much harder because I played it on the PS and TR 2 on the PC, so with TR 1 I couldnt save wherever I wanted, which made me freak out sometimes because I had to redo entire areas. So I often forgot to save in TR 2 because I was used to the save crystals :p
Congrats:tmb::hug:
I never had the chance to complete the game, my PS1 Memory card died on me:(
Anyways congrats:hug:
Congratulations! :tmb:
Play it again some time. It's almost as much fun the second time, and you get the added enjoyment of reliving the memories.

Wow thats so weird cus i did the same thing! when i was little i would beg my dad to play right when he got ome from work and when he would turn it off i would throw a temper tantrum cus he shut it off :p but now i love playing the classics!

Congratulations! :tmb: From memory, I found Tomb Raider 2 to be more difficult than the original, due to its increased focus on combat. They're both pretty tricky though! :)
I never had the chance to complete the game, my PS1 Memory card died on me:(
Anyways congrats:hug:
I per accidentally deleted the blocks from Tomb Raider on my memory card, but used the level skip cheat to get there again :D

Well Done :tmb:
The furthest i got was to the great pyramid and then lost my memory card. :(
Now I have it on the PC and i am playing it again. Im on the folly.
Well done! :tmb: TR1 is one of the best games ever, glad that you finished it and experienced all of its awesomeness. ;) You have from TR2 to TR5 to complete and be welcomed in the "TR oldies" group (I'm in). :D
Good luck with TR2! It's harder than TR1, the enemies can be pretty rough. :p

The first time I was introduced to Tomb Raider was when my father played Tomb Raider II, I was 8 if I remember correctly.
At that time Tomb Raider was known to me as "That game with the girl climbing on rocks."
I was terrified too, and didn't dare playing it.
On my 9th birthday Tomb Raider one was given to me, for the playstation, and two years ago (When I was 15) I finally completed it!!
It was like the impossible had happened!
Couldn't believe it when till I saw the credits roll.
Good times good times...
Come on CD! Make a Tomb Raider game wherein you feel glad that you finished it when it ends.
A game that gives you a feel of satisfaction, every time you finish a level!:)

Congrats! I completed my first tomb raider game when I was 8 and I completed Tomb Raider III first. I too, was intimitated by the difficulty at first and had to try over and over again, but now 13, and playing anniversary, things are easy for me on Hard =]. Tomb Raider 1 was harder for me btw.

Congratulations and Well done!!!!
When I finished the game i said something like this: "OMG!!! I can't belive!!! I finished it!!! Just a problem..... what I will play now???"
This was about 1 year ago.... I know the game is old but since last year I didn't had it (I'm a new TR player) .....
Whatever.... TR 2 is a little harder especiality the floating islands, the temple of xian and the submarine levels.....
I per accidentally deleted the blocks from Tomb Raider on my memory card, but used the level skip cheat to get there again :D
I did the same thing. Ruined my day.
This threads made me want to play TR2 again, only because people mentioned it a bit on here :D
I loved TR1 so cool, I completed the PSX version last May, just because of TRA! And for the first time, without cheats!
Haven't done the PC version yet!
we all have experience like that. Several years ago I simply can't complete a classic tomb raider game because they look so immense, so hard and so terrifying. But now after I completed those super easy new TR games. I realised that I need more challenge and see what real TR is about and I started playing the classics. I finished TR2 and found it 10 times better than the new games (screw the graphics, they matter nothing to me). I keep on playing classics and deleted the new TR games in my PC since then.
Honestly the new games aren't bad. And I am greatful to them for giving me courage to play the series again. So for all fans that haven't played classics or dared not to attempt the classic TRs, just play the new games a few more times and build up your confidence and march on to finish the classis. You shall enter a new realm of much greater delight.
Congratulations, i will start playing tomb raider 1 now and try and complete it with all the secrets.

I am still stuck at Midas place:hea:! So big level! Much harder then TRA!!!!
Congratulations! TR1 is definately the hallmark of the series. I applaud your effort and completion!
You are only 14! :yik: Geez...I beat TR1 my sophomore year in college! :D
It's good to hear, though, the you hgave the classic games a try. You'd really be missing out if you hadn't! My 6 y.o. daughter likes playing the new ones. I'll let her play the older ones when her hands can fit all the way around the PS2 controller!
TR2 was a bit harder, but still an equally great game. Nothing, no nothing, compares to the original, though.
Congrats, again, and welcome (32 posts ago) to the forum!

In my opinion, Tomb Raider 2 is harder than the first one. I really wish that they kept the 'save crystal' system in the second one (PS version). The save crystals in the first game - on the PS - added a lot of tension to the game.

I strongly recommend you play Tomb Raider 2 (can order from internet or download cracked version).
I played it when I was about 10 also (now I am 17) and Tomb Raider 2 is still my favourite.
PS: Much more advanced than TR 1...the first one is really really old ^^

When I first completed the game, I went straight to playing TRII. But when I reached the Operas House in TRII, I thought to myself: "I really went to complete Tomb Raider 1 again", so I did. I've completed it 7 times since.

You may say it's "old", but it has lasted the test of time, in my opinion. I personally thought that there were too many "humans" to kill in TRII. Yes, it is a good game - and i've completed it a few times, but it doesn't seem to have the same magic as the first one.
Well done, 2 is definitely a lot harder than the original but not as good IMO.
3 is the hardest of the lot.

I used to play it with my sister when I was young then one day we got to the torso beast and assumed it was over after that so we never bothered killing it. Years later I went to have a crack at it and realised that there was more after the monster :tea:
