Sony has said that it will be making PlayStation 2 games for another decade.

Speaking at the Game Developers Conference, Andrew House, a VP at Sony America, said the upcoming tenth anniversary of the first PlayStation had convinced Sony that its successor would last at least as long.

He said perhaps two-thirds of all the PlayStation 2s sold could be bought during the next decade.

A successor to the PlayStation 2 is rumoured to be due in 2005/6.

Well, we're just a year away from 2005 and the shops still have shelves full of PS1 games...

The PS2 will still be around in 2014?!?!? No way! I can see the PS3 coming out sometime in early 2006, then the PS2 slowly fading away around about 2008/09.
