Hi,

I copied a lot of pictures the other day from a CD and when I try and make changes to them using Windows Vista Photo Gallery, I get a message saying that an error is preventing it from saving the changes to the picture, I had a look on the internet but did not find a solution so I was wondering if anyone else has had this error before?

Any advice welcome.

Thanks,

Wizkid

Remove "Read only" attribute from all those files you've copied from CD: select them all in Windows Explrer, right click, select Properties, untick "Read only" and press OK button.

1. Do you have administrator rights on your PC?
2. In what folder did you copy all those pics?

3. Look for an option in your program to protect original files from change and disable it if any.

Hi,

I copied all pics to pics folder. I am an Admin for this computer. There is no protection either in the program so I dont know why its not working.

Thanks,

1. Don't BUMP!

2. Try to update Windows Photo Gallery from MS site.

3. Those native MS utilites (especially for Vista) appear to be crap very often. Why not use ACDSee or IrfanView (http://www.irfanview.com) (FREE) for simple photo editing?
