For me it is a yes, Tomb Raider is brilliant I could list one million reasons why it is my favourite but I'm not going to.;)

Not at all. It was one of my favourites, then stopped being my favourite gaming series after AoD, lost all my hopes when i played Legend. Now with TRU i am hoping that it is such a great game, that it might become my favourite again.

This being said, give me an RPG and i will prefer to play it instead of playing TR.

Tomb Raider is the reason i'm into games!!

I always had game consoles and PC's in my house when i was growing up but when TR came out it changed my mind about digital entertainment and i haven't looked back.

I really do like the Crystal Dynamics ones better, controls were perfect IMHO

Nope. It used to be my favourite for a while, But after TRIV (which still is one of my favourite games ever) I started to loose interest. TRC was crap IMO, but I did love AoD and was hoping to see something similar for Legend, but alas.. it was completely different. It was a good and entertaining game for sure, but it wasn't TR. My favourite game series in order:

Tomb Raider

Tomb Raider came into my life on a dreary, dismal day back in 1999. Looking for something to brighten my somber mood, I decided to take a trip to my local Blockbuster to see what game selections were available to rent. After about ten minutes or so of browsing the selections, one game in particulair struck my eye. It was different and unique to any video game I had ever seen previously. Its title read, Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation and the cover art showed the game's main character in what appeared to be an ancient Egyptian tomb with flashlight in hand. The back cover's game description read like something from an Indiana Jones movie, giving a brief but intriguing description of Lara's epic journey of exploration throughout Egypt. It conveyed a sense of mystery which captivated my imagination, and I just knew that this was the game for me.

Playing it for almost 10 hours straight from the onset all but confirmed what I had already suspected. Tomb Raider is more than just your typical video game. It is truly a deep and rewarding experience that pulls you in and refuses to let you go, and no other video game series will ever come close to matching it in intensity or enjoyment.

So the short answer to your question, "Is Tomb Raider your favorite video game series?":

Always has been since it came out. I still remember when my cousin's husband was at a family dinner and told me he'd gotten this game where a woman went to Egypt in search of artifacts and the like. That alone got me hooked.

I snagged every magazine that mentioned the series, and went crazy waiting for each one to come out. XD Anything TR related I have to get.

Before that, it was Bubble Bobble. I ended up getting the lil dragons tattooed on my back.

Close seconds would have to be the Legacy of Kain series, and Silent Hill.

Tomb Raider is definetly my favourite series, then comes POP and resident evil (haven´t played RE4). But I don´t think any of the games have that much replayvalue, it most fun the first time through. I just started play Super Mario Galaxy, which is great but I haven´t been much of a Mario fan in the past but maybe it will change now. My top ten list would go something like this;

It's one of my favourite game series, at least the one I'm most passionate about. But I have to say that my flame is slowly dying, my passion is burning up.. with each new Tomb Raider I find myself getting less and less excited.

Other than Tomb Raider I've always been a huge fan of Tekken and Zelda. These are the first games (TR and Tekken) I got for my PS1 back in the day and both have become very important for me. These are the only games I actually own all games of. Tekken 1 - 5 and Tomb Raider 1 - 7/8. Don't even get me started on Zelda again, how many crazy things I've done to obtain games from that series.. and how much money I've spent on consoles and handhelds just for Zelda.. it's a crime.
