Perhaps this isn't allowed here but since it's more related to Tomb Raider than fan-art, I've put it here.
I'm Cosplaying Lara Croft on Saturday, and I am bricking it.
My costume isn't perfect but it's fine for now (if this goes well I'll put more money into it...maybe even if it doesn't go well).
Anyway, the judges judge you on costume, and how YOU are as the character IN the costume...something I'm not 100% about.
I'm looking for posture reference pictures and advice.
Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou.

Lara is an upper-class Brit, so I expect her posture to be erect with shoulders back (partly to balance and flaunt her womanly endowments).
But what are your intentions here? To win the judging, or to satisfy your own sense of the character? I imply no judgments, I only suggest you be clear in your own mind. I recall threads comparing various models & actresses as Lara; I preferred AJ's relaxed self-confidence to the posturing and face-making of some of the others, but know your audience and your own intentions. If you could cultivate an air of enjoying the attentions of others but not needing it and being slightly amused by it, I would find that appealing.
I would guess the winner will be someone who really enjoys whatever role she's playing.
If you can, how about posting some pics so we can appreciate, too? :)

Once you have practiced firing two pistols while balencing five heavy books on your head, then you will be ready for anything :D

Lookin' good!
Very good! You got the tank top exactly right matching Anniversary.
It depends which Lara personality you're trying to imitate. TR1 Lara is very laid back and down to earth, TR2-3 Lara is stern and sensible, TR4-6 Lara is intimidating and fierce, and Legend/Anniversary Lara is like a mix between TR1, 2 and 3. Casual and friendly, but still very dignified at the same time. :)
EDIT: Whoops, too late. Maybe I should try, you know, reading the topic first. :P

Nice one.:tmb:
Croft.
You were good.
I think next time, you need to picture yourself as Lara... think "What would Lara do here?" and just go with it. You aren;'t yourself - you're Lara. You're in costume. It's not as if those people know you, so don't be nervous! :)
You were really good there, but the nervousness kinda showed. Try holding the guns further from your chest because it seemed pretty close there and speed up your movements a little more. That's my only advice, sorry if it sounds harsh, I don't mean to be!
Looks like you had alot of fun so I'm glad! :D

Thanks guys.
Next time my costume will be much improved and I think that in itself will make me feel a lot more confident.
New boots on Tuesday for example :P!
I also know what to expect next time around so expect more videos in December.

Looking good, but when you are posing for the camera, let each pose last that little bit longer, you look more confident and a little less rushed. Overall you looked fabulous, congrats!

Wasn't that woman?!
What event was this, it's not often you hear about such events in the UK, especially outside of London.
