View Full Version : What is your favourite type of level location (that you'd like to see more of in TRU?
What types of levels of levels do you like most in TR games, and hope there will be more of in TRU?
-Sandy deserts
-Snowy, icy mountains
-Lush jungles
-Underwater
-Urban settings
-Weird, alternate dimension/otherwordly locations (floating islands, Atlantis)
-Other? (explain)
Personally, I like jungle levels like Thailand, Ghana, India, and Cambodia. They seemed so alive and it was like being on a tropical vacation.

Aside from lush jungles, I am a fan of snowy and icy levels. And if its as realistic as CD says it would be, then snow would make grabbing onto ledges alot harder.
Lush Jungles are always the best. (TR3 India and South Pacific)
After that, Snowy/Icy Levels, and Underwater.
I love all the levels. :jmp:
Any tbh! I love Jungles though. :D
City levels... Otherwise tombs and jungles, of course! :)

D all of the above :D
Lush jungles and urban (but only if they are well done)
i'd love to see Austrailia and real Scotland.
I always enjoy it most when Lara ends up underground somewhere, be it in a simple cave system or somewhere hidden like Arthur's tomb in Legend. It's just that feeling of being really disconnected with the everyday world. It's made especially great when you emerge into daylight at the end.
jungles jungles jungles :jmp:
also i would like to see more snowy levels :)
snow levels I like.
i'd like to see Lara go to Flagstaff, Arizona next (yes, it snows there). and she can go through the woods and eventually go to the Grand Canyon(and eventually go in it). the could have her snowmobile for the snow parts, and have to hike through the trees and hills and stuff.
and when she gets to the bottom of the GC, she could go whitewater rafting, and you have to avoid her raft hitting rocks, fallen trees, and other obsticles. i think that it would be cool. and you get to rappel, or climb down the GC. and actually get to see her fall the 4000 or so feet, if she falls. :)

More underwater levels and locations please. They provide a true sense of exploration that is unmatched. :D

Ah, I like these kinds of levels aswell.. Atmospheric! :tmb: I've often thought that Tomb Raider should be more about.. well, raiding tombs(with the occasional guardians trying to prevent.. :mis:)!
I kind of find jungle levels a bit.. boring, to be honest. I mean, lush is nice and all but.. I'd simply prefer something different instead, dunno. o.ô Anything really, I don't mind urban levels either as long as they're.. hiding something worth interest. Variety is good when it comes to environments, but then again I'm not sure as I just love TRIV and well.. how many locations did it have again? :p
I have to agree and say jungles. Creatively, so much can be done with them to make them beyond realistic.
I'm not so fond of underwater and icy/snowy levels. As for the rest of your list, I like them all.
Snow! Snow! Snow!
I just know it's gonna rock, xP

-Lush jungles (That is why TR3 is my favorite.)
-Underwater comes close second though

Snowy/icy levels.
I don't know, I just like the atmosphere it gives if it's pulled off right.

Bring on the ICE!
Also....Jungles. :D
Jungles and Icy levels :tmb:
Edit: Oh and I almost forgot the Egypt levels :-0 I love them all :)
-Lush jungles
-Urban settings
-Other? (explain)
Other:
Medieval/Victorian buildings (castles etc.)
Laboratories (Bio Research Facility, Aquatic Research Facality, Kazakhstan)Underground Tombs (although we have enough of those in TRU)
Specific locations I'd like to see in Underworld (that haven't been officially confirmed yet):
-Vatican
-Mesopotamia
-Egypt(ian Underworld)
-South Africa (The wildlife there is simply STUNNING!)
i really love something like streets of rome and gallows tree tr5
I'd love to see a desert level done properly,
i.e. We're given a map and plopped in the middle of a huge desert,
we have to use the map to find a tomb hidden underneath the surface or something,
it would be awesome
:D

I wan't a Castle Level, also. And a level where you're roaming the streets.

most of my favorites (jungle/icy) are already confirmed.
I want levels like Atlantis, floating islands, and the kingdom that are mystical and mythical locations with objects and areas you would never see in real life (floating platforms, vortexes, etc)

That would help mix things up properly. CD could show off some amazing sand effects.
I think that the type of location this game needs is an urban location. Something like Japan in TRL, but more explorable, and less linear.
It would have been better if we had the chance to use that bike more. :cln:
Anyway, basically what i want is something that looks as good as it, but more complex, more difficult.

Agree with you there!
Jungles are lovely, but I want a bit of variety
Artic will be AMAZING
hopefully we'll have one urban-esque level (more than one is quite bad, but none at all is just rediculous!)
You forgot one of the most importants. Tombs, that's what I like the most in TR after that jungle levels and snowy levels oh and underwater levels
I like it when it's somewhere unusual like a sunken ship (Maria Dora) or Opera House. I also like it when they do places like the Louvre, or the Underground, which are based on real places. I find it can increase the immersion. And I really like places where in real life we'd like to go snooping around if we could - like secret airforce bases (Area 51).
And I like variety - jungles, snow, rivers, secret valleys, old ruins and ancient, strange technology...
I like most things. :)

Weird, alternate dimension/otherwordly locations, because it gives a sense of mystery to the game :wve:
I love jungles too, anyway, like the one in thailand we've seen in the vids.

Lush jungles, all the way. Underwater is cool too. I'd love to see some sandy deserts as well but don't know how that could fit in

I like to see a varied combination of levelsets, so as long as it doesn't get repetitive, I'm good.
I'd like to see some lush jungles:D.
