If i posted a news story here, do I for legality!!

A, just post a link to the news story,
B, just post the story,
c, post the story and a link to it's original source,

I am confused
I have been told it is breaking copyright if i just post the story and also the story and a link.
But it is ok just to post a link to the story
Can anyone clear this up for me as i would love to know http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

You can post the story AND the link. A copyright infrigement could be if you you just post the story without providing the link. This would show that the story was yours. Also, make SURE that the webmasters allow it.

What kind of story is it?

Well i was just thinking of general stories realy http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

I was informed thet if i posted a story in a forum the forum could be held responsible for the copyright infringement if the link itself was not posted.
I was also told you could not post the story but just the link to it
I just want to be clear on this subject thats all http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

How would i know if the webmaster allowed it?

You can contact the webmaster or read the copyright (privacy) statement. I usually do the latter.

Providing the link, you show where you got the story from. So, there is no problem, unless the webmaster does not want the stories to be posted somewhere else. It's not that you want to talk about the weather or post some news. It's someone else's property.
