:wve:

I'm glad to say I'm not posting here because I have a problem.
I had this in my head for quite some time now, and I thought I'd post it here :)

http://img365.imageshack.us/img365/8397/settingszf2.jpg

As you can see I highlighted "Glow" and "Shadow Rooms".
I tried enabling Glow to see what exactly was that about, and, well... I didn't get a result to be honest. The only thing I could notice is the lagging it caused to the game with no difference apart from that (or at least not one I noticed).
What do you think/know about this "Glow" setting?

And, the second is "Shadow Rooms". But with that one I couldn't make any testing since I can't enable it (a.k.a I have a crappy system). So my question about this one is... what the heck "shadow rooms" does?

I know, I know, this thread is quite useless, but this has been bugging me since I installed the game.

i think glow makes things shiny(I personally give it a 5.5 out of 10):wve:

shadows are just better shading in game.

mau3genius, if you want better AOD settings, run Diagnose.exe (http://www.tombraiderhub.com/download/diagnose.exe) and post the report for us to be able to give you recommendations :)

By the way, I thought I would be able to play with antialiasing without having to disable anything on the process If I installed the patches but it turns out I can't?

1. Your PC is not crappy.
2. Your video board is not very powerful indeed, so it's better for you to stick to default Pixel Shaders 2.0 config: Run TRAOD Launcher, select Settings, go to NVIDIA GeForce 6100 tab and press PS2.0 button. Don't change anything manually then.
3. Go to Sound tab and disable Hardware acceleration and EAX. Use Basic Core 3D Audio panning mode only.
4. Press OK button below.

5. Run AOD and check the performance.

Your PC is not crappy.
I honestly thought it was :o Glad I was wrong!

Ok, so I tried using default PS 2.0 settings and it works as before (that means, really good)
Once again, I ticked on the "Glow" thing and checked in every possible level it may be used
I first thought it was the purple glow that comes from Eckhardt's glove when he "hypnotizes" Gunderson (that effect is in the PS2 version of the game) but nothing, I see only the heat haze.
I'll be checking out what else could it be. I'm clueless

i think glow makes things shiny(I personally give it a 5.5 out of 10):wve:

shadows are just better shading in game.

I might be wrong, but what makes things shiny is "Reflections and Refractions"
And what makes characters shiny is "Cubemaps Reflections"
The "PS 2.0 Shadows" is what makes shadows appear, and "Nvidia Shadows" are those odd looking shadows that project some objects (like for example, a tree in Parisian Ghetto)
