Hey guys,
I just got a PS2 for my birthday (a bit late i no, LOL) but i am really having alot of fun with it. I only have 5 games for it so far but am looking to get some more. The games i have are FFXII, FFX, Ratchet and Clank 3, Kingdom Hearts and a racing game. The problem i have is all these games (minus the racing) seem so similar and i no thats probobly because they are, i love RPG games with good story lines. Even though these are all great games i am getting a bit bored of the RPG genre, i keep having the same kinda pattern in all games, search, fight, ect. I need somthing different and desparatly. Somthing really fun and possibly a bit lighter (my brain is hurting from all the puzzles and seriousness/hardess of alot of these games). Somthing that offers not to much of a challange but is lots of fun anyway. Maybe somthing different or original, a new idea.
Any suggestions??
Good games u guys have played??
Somthing out of the norm, or lots of fun??
Your help would be much appreciated, LOL.
Thanks :)

You should buy PS2 TRU when it comes out.

Resident Evil Code Veronica X by CAPCOM
DEMENTO/Haunting Ground, also by CAPCOM
Jak 3
Tekken Dark Resurrection for PS2 (There is PSP and PS3 versions)
And even more I cannot point at the moment...

Pretty much all of the games I have involve puzzles and searching of some sort. I can recommend some non-RPG games, though :)

Primal is kind of similar to Tomb Raider in some ways and it's a very good game.

Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy is also very good and has some similarities to TR.

The original Jak and Daxter is very light-hearted and might be along the lines of what you are looking for :)

Ico is an adventure game which isn't too complicated (at least compared to some of the TR games).

Shadow of the Colossus is a rather unique game which consists of 16 boss battles, each of which is like a puzzle.

God of War is very violent and gory. It has some pretty good puzzles, too. The second GoW game has much less focus on puzzles, though.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is a nice game. It is relatively simple (at least compared to the sequels) and the tone is rather light and whimsical.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance and Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence should give you some fun aswell. :)

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2 and Legacy of Kain: Defiance is fun too. :)

Be sure to play Rez if you haven't played it on Dreamcast. It's a very simple game but all kinds of fun.

ICO and SotC's recommendations seconded. I'll add Virtua Fighter 4 : Evolution if you haven't played VF5 yet, Resident Evil 4 you haven't played any other version etc

There are some great games on the PS2 but ultimately, my must have recommendations are the first 3 games I mentioned, and in this case in particular Rez.

Devil May Cry 3

alot of ppl say this game is VERY hard.. but its not..

at the begining you will be very bad at it cuz u r not used to the controls but after a few missions you will find out its not that hard ..

its a great game, i recommend you to play on easy mode, easy is the normal mode, and normal is hard ;)

For a really easy game without thinking and all hints ON SCREEN what to do next you should give TR Legend a try :cln:

For the really amazing stuff, check the Silent Hill series, but these games are very unsettling, beware.

God of War I & II blow you away, they are that great.

Primal is a beauty

The Jak & Daxter/Ratchet & Clank series are ways cool.

ICO & The Shadow of the Collossus are very beautiful games, you won't find games like these on other systems.

And still you should give FF XII a try, it's one of the most beautiful games you'll ever play.

And of course there are 1500+ other games to check out.

Your new PS2 will give you lots of fun for many years to come.
