I've had this problem for a few months now and I don't know what it is either,I don't hear Youtube's sound nor do I hear most of the online videos i try to watch...

The only solution I've found to this problem is by doing this,I don't know if you have this program but only if I switch to room on Sound Effect Manager I can hear the sound normally

hmmm.... you I believe must have a surround sound card with your speaker arrangement misconfigured. If you only have 2 speakers (or 2.1) your speaker arrangement should be set as thus instead of as full sourround. Not positive if that is true reason or not, but I believe that the "room" setting sets it off of surround encoding and into multi-channel stereo (thus being stereo arrangement from and direction you face - front, back, left, right). It may possibly be that when you are setting another tab out of focus, it is infact setting that tabs music to the rear channel; without speakers for the rear channel, audio will not be heard. Just a thought. If your sound card control panel is synced with the windows control panel, you should be able to correct the speaker arrangement from within windows control panel. I can't truly tell you how to work with the Asus sound panel since I don't have that one.

edit... just looked at the pic again, and there is a button for speaker configuration - should most likely be doable by following that button.

6 speakers? should be set to 5.1 surround most likely. I am assuming that you have 2 for front, 2 for center, and two for rear channels respectively. Or, considering that you must be running a 7.1 card, you may have 2 front, 2 side surround, and 2 rear surround. The image you last posted should tell you how to figure out which channels you have connected.

1. Make sure that you are not connected to an input channel.
2. Check to make sure that you speakers are properly connected for power
3. make sure your speakers are ON
4. make sure your speakers are turned up
5. check the master mixer panel to make sure that volume for each channel you are using (front, side, rear, center, sub etc. is not muted and turned UP)

sorry i dont know how to answer that question other that to suggest you check your speaker settings if you have not.

also, does it happen like thus:

open tab w/youtube - you have sound
open and switch to new tab - youtube = no sound
switch back to youtube tab - you have sound?

It's a little unclear as to what you are getting at to be honest.
it may be a simple issue of not having enough performance, but that is speculation right now. You may want to post reports of Ardiag (http://www.tombraiderhub.com/download/ardiag.exe) and diagnose (http://www.tombraiderhub.com/download/diagnose.exe)

Actually no it happens like this

1: I open youtube, I can hear sound.
2: Open a second tab to the Blogspot (My website) play youtube videos on the blogspot site or on the youtube homepage. No sound
3: Yesterday when I tried i closed out of the blogspot site. I could hear sound on the youtube site.

It has some thing to do with blogspot maybe???? I don't know

Does it do the same thing when using Internet Exporer ?

Huh....I've never actually tried that. I just tried with firefox
