I never saw a thread on this series, I just got into it recently. Love it so why not add a thread here?

Well as you'll probably already know it's based around Greek mythology. But let me tell you, the visuals are stunning, especially for a PS2 game. The combat is very fluid and it has a good strong story amoungs great voice acting. The only flaw however is that some versions of the game don't work on PS2's so you'll need a PS3 to play it on if that's the case (I'm a victim of this).

Man, I wish my PS2 would play this game. I bought God of War, but every time I place it in my PS2, I get a "disc read error". Apparently, the game doesn't work on "older" PS2s. A shame, really, because it looks like a great game. Anybody else hear of this problem, or know what I can do about it?

It doesn't matter what model it is. I have the old PS2 Phat and it works with me. You do know PS2 disc drives eventually wear out, producing errors, right?

Legend of Lara, I don't think my PS2 has worn out - every other game I have plays fine, only God of War won't play.

clw, no, I don't have a PS3 - yet. But I will, soon... very soon. Mark my words.

A lot of people have the problem:

Anyway clw, if you're just gonna head right into God Of War III, you can just read up the events of the first few games on wikipedia here:

This game is one of the best on PS2. The only bad thing was the big and ugly sister of faith that you need to fight near the end of God of war 2.

Both my GoW 1 & 2 games work perfectly on one of my older PS2 models (30004R, this one is 6 years old)

Maybe your PS2's laserlens is dirty, or slightly out of position.
Always keep your laserlens operated equipment away from dust and smoke.

I've played CoO demo, and meh. It's just another button masher. You pwn everyone by randomly mashing buttons, lol.:p
But I guess it's enjoyable.I'll definitely get it when I buy a PS2(or when Sony make the 40gb play PS2 games:p)and then I'll get CoO.:)
