The new Nvidia drivers are here, and they seem really good - now including PhysX support and many performance improvements.




WHQL-certified driver for GeForce 6-series, 7-series, 8-series, 9-series, and 200-series GPUs, including the newly released GeForce 9800 GTX+ (http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_geforce_9800_gtx_plus_us.html), 9800 GT (http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_9800gt.html), 9500 GT (http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_9500gt.html), and 9400 GT (http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_geforce_9400gt_us.html) GPUs.
Adds support for NVIDIA PhysX (http://www.nvidia.com/forcewithin) acceleration on all GeForce 8-series, 9-series and 200-series GPUs with a minimum of 256MB dedicated graphics memory (this driver package installs NVIDIA PhysX System Software v8.09.04).
Experience GPU PhysX acceleration in several full games and demos today by downloading the GeForce Power Pack (http://www.nvidia.com/content/forcewithin/us/download.asp).
Adds support for 2-way NVIDIA SLI technology with GeForce GTX 200-series GPUs on Intel® D5400XS motherboards.
Supports single GPU and NVIDIA SLI™ technology (http://www.slizone.com/page/home.html)* on DirectX 9 and OpenGL.
Supports CUDA™ (http://www.nvidia.com/object/cuda_home.html).
Supports Folding@home (http://folding.stanford.edu/) distributing computing application. Download the high performance client for NVIDIA GPUs here (http://folding.stanford.edu/English/DownloadWinOther) and join the NVIDIA team: #131015.
Supports GPU overclocking and temperature monitoring by installing NVIDIA System Tools software (http://www.nvidia.com/object/nvidia_system_tools).
Includes several 3D application performance improvements. The following are examples of improvements measured with v178.13 WHQL versus v175.19 WHQL driver:

Single GPU increases up to 11% in 3DMark Vantage (performance preset)
Single GPU increases up to 11% in Assassin's Creed DX10
Single GPU increases up to 15% in Bioshock DX10
Single GPU increases up to 15% in Call of Duty 4
Single GPU increases up to 8% in Enemy Territory: Quake Wars
2-way SLI increases up to 7% in Bioshock DX10
2-way SLI increases up to 10% in Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts DX10
2-way SLI increases up to 12% in Enemy Territory: Quake Wars
2-way SLI increases up to 10% in World in Conflict DX10

So, bit of a brain fart moment here but with the new drivers installed, how will I know if the Physx improvements have been added on?

Start > Programs > NVIDIA Corporation > NVIDIA PhysX Properties.

Awe weak :( I was going to get a shiny new one of those for my next gen gaming needs. All is lost!

They have to stop supporting old products soon enough. There is only so much you can do with new drivers for an old and under-powered graphics card.

Ta for the drivers. ;) Still using a 7900 GTX here, I'm waiting for something that will will play Crysis flat out without the need for shelling out for two top of the range cards running in SLI.
