Jenson Button could replace Michael Schumacher at Ferrari, according to team technical director Ross Brawn. Button has enjoyed a stunning start to the season for BAR, culminating in pole position and second place at the San Marino Grand Prix at the weekend. And Brawn told BBC Radio Five Live: "One day Michael's going to stop and you've got to look around and see who's the best at that stage. I think Jenson will be on that list for sure."

Button is now third place in the world championship standings with 23 points, 17 behind Schumacher, the runaway leader. Prior to the season, the English driver had not managed a podium finish but, in his last three races, has boasted two third places and a runners-up spot. And Brawn added: "I think he's doing a fantastic job. He knows the circuits now and he's learning how to work with the teams. I think he'll be a hot property in the next couple of years. I think he showed signs in the early days, but if you get in the right environment and the right people behind you believe in you it raises your game. You see all the signs of that."
