It doesn't work with the VLC. This is what comes up when I try to play it:

File reading failed:
VLC could not open the file "D:"".
Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'D:"'. Check the log for details.

EmeraldFields... just a question ( and no, I am not being "nasty" :) )

Do you have a DVD Rom drive, or is it a CD ROM drive. You cannot play a DVD in a CD drive.

Window XP Media player will play DVDs.

Yeah, I have a DVD drive! Whenever I try to play it in Windows Media Player it says something about a wrong file extension. That's why I wanted to know if there was another program that would work.:)

^ Download and install K-Lite Mega Codec pack (http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/KLite-Mega-Codec-Pack-Download-15909.html) as it was recommended earlier. Then you'll be able to play DVDs in WMP or MP Classics (included in K-Lite pack).
