Just curious, is it very difficult to upgrade RAM for laptops.....

Mind you, the only thing I've ever done that's remotely like this is upgrading my ps3 hdd....

If anyone could give me some pointers or links or any help at all it'd be very much appreciated

:D

k, I've checked all the specs and I'm able to have a max of 2GB RAm, and there's 1GB in there already..... so would I just buy another gig and slot it into the spare slot?

It's really no different to upgrading for a system, just as long as you have the correct RAM, its a case of turn it over, remove the cover, take out the old RAM and put in the new. Most laptops don't have a spare slot, so you have to replace the current chip.

I checked manufacterer's specs and it said there's 2x1gb slots?

Is it fairly obvious where it goes and everything?

do you need to do any formatting or backing-up or anything like that?

No, its fairly idiot proof. The RAM can only go in one way, there's a notch in the ram that lines up in the slot.

No formatting or backing up needed, this is just a memory upgrade.
