It looks like a lizard doesn't it? I don't quite get why they are referred to as lizard men though.. am I missing something here ? (ps. outfit is custom designed, I am a sucker for red hair:))

They appear after the second cutscene when you turn left. And you can fight them when you go down to the Shiva statue using this little trick.

Check out the Shiva statue as you're climbing around the left block (the one where you use the zip to pull the ring). As you try and traverse the rocks on that block move the camera toward the Shiva. You'll see two of the lizards crawl across the chest. Freaked me out the first time I saw it. I posted a pic in the TRU screenie topic.

yeh I like them, but I was hoping for something more..... well, mythical for the Naga. Oh well :(

I've tried to shoot this lizard many times but nothing worked.

About the one that skitters up the wall quickly, I got a grenade on him once, but he was off and I heard it explode but not a sound of him dying.

They are extremely cool though. I love it when you get to the bottom of the area and about 10 of them ambush you. Absolutely awesome. :jmp:

There's a glitch that allows you to traverse the lower level of the temple. The shadow thing is wierd, but they are real pics.

This image is excellent:tmb::cool:. His elusive behavior in the presence of Lara at the level beginning, giving a surplus of intensity and fear very interesting.
They also can be seen at the statue of Shiva hiding themselves with the Lara's presence.

They are the Naga, there are two types. The green ones who attack you close up, and red ones who spit stuff at you. Lovely!

Exactly what I think.
Lara even says in the cut scene when she sees the Shiva Statue that they
inhabit the lowest level (aka the underworld, can't recall the Thailand level
name'') So there is a possibility we might see them there.

Well unfortunately l cannot play the demo with full effects on my PC, it is below the minimum requirements so shadows is just one of many things l had to sacrifice in order to play the courtyard area of the game on the PC. The naga screenshots were just my parting contribution to the screenshot thread. l will not be posting in the screenshot threads since mine show the game in less than the superb graphics the game has. How ever as to the subject of Lizard Men/Naga, perhaps once they were more like men and have devolved over the centuries. Or perhaps it is just a name they got because that is what people thought they looked like, and they were never any more like men than they are now.

I noticed the green ones spit poison at you while the red ones jump towards you.

l never really noticed any different abilities they all jump and all seem to spit poison, perhaps the red are the males and the green are the females.

These guys are fast, BTW...I used the "Glitch" in the demo to get further and fought one...yeah...fast. Not looking forward to fighting a bunch of these at once.

some people turned off effects like teh shadows so that underworld could run smoother on their pc. And it is actual gameplay of the demo. I got there myself. When the nagas, pop out , i started screaming. I did even more when i was doing the shiva statue puzzle where i get to a pole making the arm go down. A naga appeared, i scream 'GET THE HELL AWAY FROM ME!!!!" and shoot it to death. little did i know that another one popped out and i shrieked and did the same thing to it. Enemies ambushing you in Underworld is scary in a fun way. I would always scream when the i put the tifers to sleep and when i get on the ledge, when i pull up a tiger attacks and i barely dodge the tiger and it made me jump.

Some magazines were calling it "lizardmen" but Crystal always called them Nagas, which has many definitions including lizards.
I wouldn't like any lizardmen, too mytical and fantasy for TR in my opinion.

They are awesome, I love how they sneak around on the Shiva Statue and on the temple :D plus they are hard to fight, can't wait for the final game
