Lawyers for disgraced US lifestyle guru Martha Stewart are seeking a retrial claiming a juror that convicted her had lied about his criminal record.
Papers filed in a federal court state the juror violated his oath by failing to disclose he had been arrested for assault or that he had been sued.

Lawyers say they would have challenged his selection for jury had they known.

Stewart, 62, was convicted in March of lying about the sale of shares in the biotech company ImClone Systems Inc.

The jury found her guilty of one count of conspiracy, two counts of making false statements and one count of obstruction of agency proceedings.

Stewart - who has appealed against the verdict - is due to be sentenced in June, and could get up to 16 months in prison.

Martha Stewart is a household name in the United States for her lifestyle advice.

After the verdict, she resigned from the board of the firm she founded, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, but retains the role of founding editorial director.
