If you have time, please look through the list and post what glitches you have encountered during the game (and what platform you are on).

About crashes, freezing, black screen etc.: this may be a hardware issue. Bad ventilation and overheating is what causes it on consoles most of the time. Reasons for PC crashes tend to be more complex. However, both console and PC hardware related questions should go to TRU Tech Support forum (http://www.tombraiderforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=43)

Most glitches occur randomly, and none of them seem to be platform specific so far (unless there is something wrong with XBOX autosaves). If you are a PC/PS3 player, make sure to create manual saves at least once per level.

Use the following form to report your bugs:
Platform: PC, PS3 or X360.
Type: General, location specific (which location?) or an oddity, that does not interfere with gameplay.
Bug: Short summary of what happens.
Solution: If any.

General

G1.(PC-Yes;PS3-?;360-?)
Bug: Loading a saved game in treasure hunt causes the game to think you're playing story mode - 'Field Assistance' is enabled, 'Revisit Location', on the other hand, is not.
Solution: Kill Lara.
UP: should be fixed in v1.1 (PC)

G2. (PC-Yes;PS3-Yes;360-Yes)
Bug: Lara gets stuck in an animation loop (is "stuck in a texture" in some cases).
Solution: Release any directional keys, bringing Lara to a "full stop", then move/jump away from the glitchy spot. Alternatively, shoot your guns. Some seriously freaky loops (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmrOLF6IVr0) may require a restart.

G3. (PC-Yes;PS3-?;360-?)
Bug: During the Headshot move, instead of reticule, the player suddenly takes control of the camera.
Solution: N/A. Seems to randomly go away after reloading the level/checkpoint.

G4. (PC-Yes;PS3-Yes;360-Yes)
Bug: Flashlight disappears - "On/Off" key has no effect and the PLS itself is no longer listed in your inventory. Has something to do with Treasure hunt and Lara's bike most of the time (could be that its light interferes with Lara's flahslight, as the PLS automatically turns off when you get on the bike), but there are reports of this happening in other levels (namely, Manor).
Solution: N/A. Restart the level.

G4a. (PC-?;PS3-?;360-?)
Mostly a problem in Mexico, but may happen in other levels too.
Bug: Quest items disappear from the inventory, meaning you can't use them.
Solution: N/A. Reload.

G5. (PC-Yes;PS3-Yes;360-Yes)
Bug: Unresponsive controls due to animation quirks. For example, if you nearly push Lara off the edge and she does her "flail" motion, you may not be able to move into the direction you want afterwards. Or: while standing on a beam/pole she refuses to walk.
Solution: Generally, moving/jumping/turning in different directions solves this. On poles, you can also drop down ('crouch' key) and climb it once again.

G5a. (PC-Yes;PS3-Yes;360-?)
Bug: Lara won't make the 90º degree turn in "inside corner ledges" if you drop to the ledge near the corner
Solution: Move Lara in the oposite direction, and then again in direction of the corner you want to turn.

G5b/G6a. (PC-Yes;PS3-Yes;360-Yes)
Bug: Attempts to pick up an object (usually a medkit) causes an "animation loop", where Lara awkwardly circles around the object until she picks it up. The loop may also continue even without the eventual pick up, in which case Lara may fall through the ground. (A more disturbing example of this bug. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQ9xh8RyRUM))
Solution: See G6.

G6. (PC-Yes;PS3-?;360-Yes)
Bug: Lara has trouble detecting objects she can interact with, and the 'Interact' key causes melee attack in most cases.
Solutiuon: Make sure Lara is close to the object, is facing it and, preferably, stands still.

G7. (PC-Yes;PS3-?;360-?)
Bug: Something causes Lara to get stuck in some kind of ragdoll state, yet she is 'alive' and can fire her guns, open the PDA etc. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgKcpvY2JS8)
Solution: N/A. Reloading your last checkpoint fixes it, most likely.

G8. (PC-Yes;PS3-Yes;360-Yes)
Bug: Lara dies upon bumping into some specific object in the level (for example, wooden ramps in Xibalba corridor or ACME Smash Blocks in one of the Xibalba trial rooms).
Solution: Well...avoid bumping into such objects (note: this bug is particularly random).

G9. (PC-Yes;PS3-Yes;360-Yes)
Bug: Lara falls through the ground/seabed or, occasionally, even through walls (during walljumps). The latter may be location specific.
Solution: N/A. Restart the level/last checkpoint.

G10. (PC-Yes;PS3-?;360-?)
Bug: When a savegame is loaded Lara appears at an older checkpoint. Nothing else is affected (id est in Mexico bike appears where it should - at the real last checkpoint). Sometimes it's the other way around - Lara spawns where the last checkpoint was, yet other objects (like movable blocks) are reset to their previous/default positions.
Solution: N/A.

G10a. (PC-?;PS3-?;360-Yes)
Bug: A weirder version of the above - loaded checkpoint not only precedes the one actually saved, but is also on a previous level. The previous level itself is glitched and cannot be completed. Reports state it also corrupts savegames.
Solution: N/A.

G11. (PC-?;PS3-?;360-?)
Possibly location specific.
Bug: Occasionally some cutscenes may not start at all (like the one triggering transition from Med.Sea ruins to the ship), and thus the level cannot be finished.
Solution: N/A. Restart the level/checkpoint (latter may not help).

G12. (PC-Yes;PS3-?;360-?)
Bug: Poles you pick up from the ground may disappear once you drop them.
Solution: If it disappears, reload. Otherwise avoid dropping them in the open.

G12a. (PC-Yes;PS3-?;360-?)
Bug: Poles you drop are still there where you left them, but cannot be picked up again.
Solution: N/A. Reload.

G13. (PC-Yes;PS3-?;360-Yes)
Bug: Lara becomes invisible for no apparent reason.
Solution: Kill Lara/Reload your last checkpoint/Restart.

G14. (PC-?;PS3-Yes;360-?)
Possibly location specific (reported @ Arctic, bossbattle).
Bug: The screen goes blank, yet the game is running. If there was an autosave during that time, loading it won't fix the problem.
Solution: N/A. Restart the level or load a normal manual save.

G15. (PC-Yes;PS3-Yes;360-?)
Bug: Quick shimmy round the corner causes animation glitches.
Solution: Go back to normal speed before hitting the corner.

G16. (PC-Yes;PS3-?;360-?)
Bug: Attempting to save the game manually results in Crash-to-Desktop.
Solution: N/A. Probably hardware/OS-related.

G17. (PC-Yes;PS3-?;360-?)
Bug: Due to the fact that most, if not all, important physics based events are non-scripted real-time events, random collison glitches may severely hinder or even prohibit the game progress.
Solution: See specific cases of this bug (S14, for example).

G18. (PC-Yes;PS3-Yes;360-?)
Bug: Manual Treasure Hunt savegames are overwritten/deleted for no apparent reason. Seems to be caused by saving at one level, and then loading some other save from the level before it.
Solution: N/A.

G19. (PC-Yes;PS3-Yes;360-?)
Bug: Because of real-time nature of all the in-game cutscenes, skipping them may lead to various oddities.
Solution: Don't skip the cutsenes. Or don't do it too fast, at least.

G20. (PC-?;PS3-Yes;360-?)
Bug: Gauntlet/belt magicks disappear for reasons unknown (possibly a "no-flashlight" type glitch?).
Solution: Reload an earlier checkpoint.

Location specific

S1. (PC-?;PS3-?;360-?)
Location: Thailand (Treasure Hunt)
Bug: When replaying the level and entering Thor's Hall from the pit room, the bridge is facing the exit and there's no way to bring it back.
Solution: N/A. Restart the level (you may have to do this more than once). By default, the bridge should automatically return to its original position when you get close. Alternatively, use a trainer to bypass the gap (PC only).

S1a. (PC-Yes;PS3-?;360-?)
Location: Thailand (Treasure Hunt)
Bug: While the bridge resets its position when you re-enter the hall, attepts to move it cause the whole structure to swing around violently to the statue, where the relic is/was. It is then stuck in that position and cannot be moved.
Solution: Unless you have made a savegame before trying to move the bridge, it seems like a permanent glitch.

S1b. (PC-?;PS3-Yes;360-?)
Location: Thailand
Bug: Dying after acquiring the gauntlet may cause Thor's power to vanish.
Solution:N/A. Reload.

S2. (PC-Yes;PS3-?;360-Yes)
Location: Mexico
Bug: In the Xibalba corridor, first wooden ramp/bridge is lowered.
Solution: N/A. Restart the level (you may have to do this more than once). Alternatively, use a trainer to bypass the gap (PC only). Eidos' take on the problem (http://www.eidosinteractive.co.uk/support/faqinfo.html?fqid=426&gmid=215)
UP: should be fixed in v1.1 (PC)

S3. (PC-Yes;PS3-?;360-?)
Location: Mexico
Bug: In Thor's chamber, hanging on lower snake's pole does not close its mouth and therefore its eitr flow won't stop.
Solution: N/A. Try restarting from the last checkpoint or reloading the level itself (unconfirmed).

S4. (PC-Yes;PS3-?;360-?)
Incarnation of G10 most likely.
Location: Bike levels (usually in Treasure Hunt)
Bug: The bike disappears after loading a savegame.
Solution: Kill Lara. If it does not help, restart the level.

S5. (PC-Yes;PS3-Yes;360-Yes)
Location: Mexico
Bug: No rain in the very beginning of the level (isn't limited to this area though). Usually happens in Treasure Hunt.
Solution: Drive to the next section of the map (via the underground tunnel). Rain will reappear in all parts of the map.

S6. (PC-?;PS3-?;360-?)
Location: Thailand (though looks like it's of a general kind).
Bug: Violating the programmed gameflow (for example, bypassing some important object; in this case - the 'falling platform' sequence) causes extreme graphical glitches.
Solution: Since it's an abnormal bug (as attempts to skip game triggers usually end in Lara's death, otherwise it's an exploit), only option is to restart the level.

S7. (PC-?;PS3-Yes;360-?)
Location: Mexico
Bug: After failing to enter Xibalba for the first time, calendar plates get stuck and none of them can be operated.
Solution: N/A. Restarting the level may help. As a precaution, don't save the game right after solving the second calendar puzzle and before the motorcycle run to the exit.

S7b. (PC-Yes;PS3-Yes;360-?)
Location: Mexico
Bug: Another Xibalba entrance problem - when trying to exit, Lara may refuse to place the missing jaguar head, but will pull the switch afterwards - doors won't open, but the lever will become inoperable.
Solution: N/A. Restart/Reload.

S8. (PC-Yes;PS3-?;360-Yes)
Location: Mediterranean Sea
Bug: If you pull the lever too soon after dropping the right-hand statue's head for a weight, the door to Niflheim may not open, although the cutscene plays.
Soluion: N/A. Since the cutscene triggers a checkpoint, there's no other way than to a load a previous save or restart the level.
UP: Seems like it's fixed in v1.1 (PC), or, at least, that's what "fixed issue with door lever at Kraken room entrance" implies.

S9. (PC-?;PS3-?;360-?)
This one may be a variation of G6.
Location: Thailand
Bug: Occasionally, after collecting the two gemstones for Shiva's arm puzzle, no icon apears for you to insert them (id est Lara refuses to insert them).
Solution: N/A. Reload a save where you are yet to collect the stones.

S10. (PC-Yes;PS3-?;360-?)
An incarnation of the G11 glitch.
Location: Arctic
Bug: Amelia cutscene doesn't play - the player can explore the area with Amelia just standing there.
Solution: N/A. Restart/Reload.

S11. (PC-?;PS3-Yes;360-?)
Location: Thailand
Bug: If Lara is bitten by a spider while grappling the wall ring above the pool after the Thor's hall, she may fall into the water with her body 'frozen' - one arm held up awkwardly at an angle. She won't dive or move to get out of the water, but still can move across the surface.
Solution: N/A. Reload.

S12. (PC-?;PS3-?;360-?)
Location: Croft Manor
Bug: Activating the lever to end the crypt part of the level and then sprinting into the corridor may bypass the section loading trigger, resulting in no actual level and, as a result, nothing for Lara to stand on. Does not happen if Lara walks/runs into the corridor. (May have something to do with hardware-related with loading times, but who knows.)
Solution: N/A. Reload.

S13. (PC-?;PS3-Yes;360-?)
Location: Croft Manor
Bug: Using grenades against tiger thralls freezes the system. May be related to nagas' "no-grenade-death-animation" oddity.
Solution: Reload. Don't use grenades.

S14. (PC-Yes;PS3-?;360-?)
Location: Croft Manor
Bug: If a part of the now dead tiger thrall ends up in the way of the column the player has to push, a collision glitch may cause the column to jump and land in a position when one can no longer move it.
Solution: Try to blast the piece of junk away with your grenades or simply reload.

S14a. (PC-Yes;PS3-?;360-?)
Location: Croft Manor (Prologue)
Bug: Grappling the door and then pulling it sometimes produces a collision glitch when doors ends up blocking the way.
Solution: N/A. Reload.

S15. (PC-Yes;PS3-?;360-?)
Perhaps intended.
Location: South Mexico.
Bug: In Thor's chamber failing to navigate the set of crumbling ledges (either due to 'wrong-checkpoit-reload' bug, Lara's refusal to navigate the ledges, or simply escaping the situation and returning to the highest level) may close the only obvious way down.
Solution: Reload an earlier save or try searching hte threads for a 'glitched' way down.

S16. (PC-Yes;PS3-?;360-?)
Location: Croft Manor
Bug: Skipping the gauntlet/thralls cutscene too fast will cause the thralls to activate incorrectly, and they will not come after Lara.
Solution: Commit suicide to reset the thralls, or simply ignore the glitch.

S17. (PC-Yes;PS3-Yes;360-?)
Example of G19.
Location: Croft Manor
Bug: Dying after killing the thralls but before reaching the next checkpoint will cause the game to load with the thralls alive, but the ammo and grenades you may have used for killing them previously will be gone.
Solution: Try not to die.

S18. (PC-Yes;PS3-?;360-?)
Another G10.
Location: Mexico
Bug: Flooding the room on your way up and killing Lara in the process messes up the savestate - upon loading Lara spawns at the checkpoint, yet the room is already filled with eitr, and this leads to instant death.
Solution: Reload an older manual save.

S18. (PC-Yes;PS3-Yes;360-?)
G17 collision glitch?
Location: Mexico
Bug: The runic column you have to push after acquiring Thor's hammer possess a will of its own, apparently - reports note its habit to return to its original position ore even fly away when attempting to move it.
Solution: Restarting/loading may help. See if there are any thrall remains in column's way - those may cause the glitch.

S19. (PC-?;PS3-Yes;360-?)
Likely to happen in other bike levels.
Location: Mexico
Bug: The Bike is stuck at the point where, on tiyr way back, you have to move the small obstacle after acquiring the belt.
Solution: Place the bike more carefully? Seems like another collision problem.

S20. (PC-Yes;PS3-Yes;360-?)
Location: Med Sea
Bug: Lara cannot dive and stays underwater on the same height as her yacht.
Solution: N/A. Restart the level

Oddities

- (PC-Yes;PS3-?;360-?) models of Thor's gauntlets and belt are floating underwater near the starting point in Arctic (seems to be fixed in v1.1);
- (PC-Yes;PS3-Yes;360-?) camera goes nuts when attempting to drop down safely (using the 'crouch' key) and grab a corner ledge;
- (PC-Yes;PS3-Yes;360-?) camera goes nuts when attempting to exit a crawlspace that ends with a ledge (in fact, any crawlspace will do);
- (PC-Yes;PS3-?;360-?) when a grenade kills naga, the latter has no ragdoll-animated death - its carcass simply floats in the air;
- (PC-Yes;PS3-?;360-?) attempts to bypass the underwater boundaries in the Arctic level seem to cause the game to eliminate the underwater environment altogether (http://www.tombraiderforums.com/showthread.php?t=139482);
- (PC-Yes;PS3-?;360-?) above also applies to Mediterranean, the 'God of Thunder' chapter (http://img3.imagebanana.com/view/kqbkk4dz/ocean.jpg) (note, this glitch is reported to freeze the Xbox version);
- (PC-Yes;PS3-Yes;360-?) some enemies can enter the state of 'utter stupidity' - they run in circles, ignoring Lara (and some cannot be killed);
- (PC-Yes;PS3-?;360-?) after dying, Lara is spawned with the grenade model stuck up her left gun holster (press 'throw grenade' + 'roll' to get rid of it);
- (PC-Yes;PS3-Yes;360-?) certain jumps towards ledges (especially corners) temporarily embeed Lara into the texture;
- (PC-Yes;PS3-?;360-?) falling into eitr in Arctic allows you to see the out-of-boundaries area;
- (PC-?;PS3-?;360-Yes) starting a new game while playing Prologue (or something else) may produce static shadows/lightning instead of dynamic;
- (PC-Yes;PS3-?;360-?) it is possible to bypass the trigger for the Puppet No Longer chapter in Thailand by not moving the bridge to its defined position - you can still finish the level though;
- (PC-Yes;PS3-?;360-?) upon death corpses of those slain by Lara demonstrate various unusual behaviours, like getting stuck halfway through the floor or bouncing up and down (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1UVh-YRxxo);
- (PC) 1280*1024 (5:4) resolution stretches the picture (http://img3.imagebanana.com/view/873ma6am/underworld.jpg);
- (PC-Yes;PS3-?;360-?) Lara's 'physics-powered' strands of hair go f.u.b.a.r. in some situations (when stanfing on a pole, for example);
- (PC-Yes;PS3-Yes;360-?) Lara's hand is painfully bent during the cinematics;
- (PC-Yes;PS3-?;360-?) skipping early the first Med Sea cutscene causes the "one weel earlier" line to stay on-screen indefinitely (kill Lara to fix this) (this is a G19 glitch);
- (PC) Anisotropic Filtering doesn't work (maybe hardware-related, as i've seen reports of everything working as it should - can't spot the difference myself);
- Bathing Suit has heavy boot footstep sounds.
- (PC-?;PS3-Yes;360-?) at one point in the last portion of the game you can witness Natla freezing in mid air[/b] - she stays that way until you trigger her next move.
- (PC-?;PS3-Yes;360-?) shoot the assault rifle until the magazine is empty, then stop aiming - reload animation is cancelled, but a floating magazine will insert itself into the rifle anyway.
- (PC-Yes;PS3-likely;360-likely) schools of fish may bump innto the rock and stay there, swim around them to "frighten their AI";
- (PC-Yes;PS3-likely;360-likely) Lara has funky collisions with sloped or otherwise uneven surfaces, can be observered while standing on the yacht - Lara floats when yacht comes down and bends her legs when it goes up with the waves;

Platform specific

X360
Bug: The "Master Speed Demon/Master Swan Dive" achievement may not register even though all requirements have been met
Solution: Word is, you have to get them in one adventure, otherwise the big achievement won't register (ie don't leave them for Treasure Hunt).
[b]Also[/n]: If you plan to take a break and not do these all in one go, make sure that you get a checkpoint after completing each of these achievement tasks or else it won't unlock. So you can't just save, exit gameplay, and load the game later on. But you may get the checkpoint first, then save and load. Of course, you need to have passed them successful otherwise you need to reload a save file right before the failed task. These achievements are glued to your save file and autosave - load those only and not the ones for any other different "New Game" adventure (Ring_of_Fire).

Location: Thailand Level
Bug: After completing the gauntlet chamber, a lever is missing which is required to open the exit.

When I played Thailand on the PS3 version. My game froze when I got Lara to grapple, that big rock. The one that leads to the big room, with the door whom you open with Thor's gauntlet ;) So I reloaded and second time round was fine. Bloody hell, I've never seen a PS game with bugs upon first play!

Could be the memory usage? In the PS3 proccessor?

I've encountered a bug that does away with the flashlight, its happened in several instances once I got off of the bike, and one time in the manor after a long fall landing with a roll to avoid dying, the light then would not work and it was no longer listed as gear in the inventory. The only solution I've come across is reloading the level, which is mostly just more of a problem.

In some parts of Thailand, a few of the textures randomly turned blue. It's probably a graphics card issue.

There was another glitch where I dove on flat ground while she was doing the "push bushes aside" animation, and she somehow landed on her head and died. I tried to repeat it, but I couldn't get it to happen again.

Quite a few, like others have listed.

On my first play through, during the game the screen would go blank but the game was still running, I got round this by killiing lara even though I couldn't see her.:D Once the game reloaded it was fine.

Sadly the second time it happened, of all places in the last level that soulution didn't work. Worst of all the bug had been auto saved so when the level was reloaded, all would look fine for the first few seconds then a blank screen again, audio could still be heard. I could access the PDA but not the main menu. I tried reloading many times but with no luck.

Because the PS3 doesn't save levels like the 360 does I couldn't just restart that level again. In the end I was forced to start again from a manual save I had made earlier, sadly two level back but I;m just happy that I had made one. I wasn't very happy & I was also surprised, made me wonder if I had a faulty copy, but I don't think I do as it happned earlier in the game but I resolved it that time. Has anybody else had any similar issues.?:confused:

sometimes a grenade floats where laras guns are supposed to, but to solve this bug all you have to do is throw a grenade. i dont see why they cant just appear on her belt tho........

I think jumping in any direction can also solve these.

Another one, I know is on the PS3 version, at least:

I don't know if this counts as a bug or not, but I had trouble getting Lara to interact with things. She would often do a melee attack instead, so I would have to nudge her around and keep hitting "interact" until she did what she was supposed to do.

What if restarting the game won't help? I've been restarting the Mexico level 3 times now and every single time the PLS stops working after I get to the "Underworld" area (where you raise the entrance) without evening entering the courtyard...as soon as she's off her bike the PLS no longer works.

Hmm, yeah, appears to be a bike-related issue then.
Perhaps it has something to do with bike's own light - maybe it affects Lara's PLS and whether it had been turned on or off. Can't say, really.

I also noticed that the PLS key seem to be turning the bike light off once the PLS is disabled. Might be the reason for not working when she's off the bike.

Hope Crystal fix this with the patch.

When i climbed on the boat nothing happend so i just reloaded the last save i had and tried again. It worked that time so if you get stuck like this just load your last game save. Remember to save frequently to aviod long replays.

Tried that but no use. I think the Treasure Hunt mode is partially what causes these bugs. Didn't encounter any of them during the story mode.

Not sure if it's a glitch - one of the calendars' outer ring automatically misaligns once the entrance closes. You have to realign it.

I have had several cases of Lara randomly flying off and dying. Once in Thailand when I stood on Shiva and Kalis scales, and another time when I went up a bike ramp. Its kinda funny, I'm just glad the game doesn't take a while to reload otherwise this would be annoying. I also have a glitch where I try and climb up onto a pole, however lara is off axis when on top of the pole and I can't walk along it. I have to press O to get her to drop off.

When you do, the platforms are lowered, and the only way to raise them, is to pull down a ledge. But...that ledge is located on the other side... The gap is un-crossable, so your motorbike is useless in this situation.

The only way you can remove this bug is to download a save game. Be warned...it might not contain the same amount of secrets you had originally

Thor's Hall, dead end, impossible to return to the bridge after collecting the golden relic.

Crashes, dead ends, constantly stuck, etc...etc....

Solution : Concentrate on polishing your games instead of getting them out before Christmas shopping period.

Bug: Well I got one of those pole things and I somehow managed to drop it all the way down on the ground where the smaller statues that need to reflect light into kali's eyes are. And all of a sudden a cutscene loaded and the whole level went green and i could see a few pots in the green horizon :S And I tried walking around and lara dissapeared

Of course it's a bug, what else did you expect in such a rushed game ?

There's tons of them, for example also in the mansion, when the lights shine correctly showing the 2 angels, the doorhandles should open, but they don't, you have to pull one of the handles another 2 times before the game-engine finally "realizes" that an action should take place. Consider yourself happy that the engine sometimes, at last "sees" these kind of things, mostly it doesn't and you can't do anything except loading some save game and hope it will catch up when you're there again....

oopss.. realised it wasnt a bug.. it was that there was levers behind the statues.. neverming

also, int he mansion, the reason why you need to pull the lever twice is not becuse the engine 'realises', its because the cuttings on each side of those flaps you need to turn are totally differnt, so you need to get the right side to form the shape of the angels

Bug: If you pull the lever too soon after dropping the right-hand statue's head for a weight and/or skip the camera and cutscene too fast, the door to Niflheim may not open.
Solution: You triggered a checkpoint, so suicide won't help. Pulling the lever again won't open the door. Even if you remove the smaller weights, place them again and pull the lever again, the door won't open. Load an earlier save or have fun restarting the game.

Bug: Lara won't make the 90º degree turn in "inside corner ledges" if you drop to the ledge near the corner
Solution: Move Lara in the oposite direction, and then again in direction of the corner you want to turn.

I hope it is self-explained, but in case I'm not expressing myself very well, I'll try to give an example.

In thailand, before the second tiger fight, you are in a platform from witch you have to drop to a ledge, make a turn to the left in what I'm calling an inside corner ledge, and them climb, up to the place where you fight the tigers. If you drop from the platform to the ledge near the corner (near the wall), Lara will refuse to make the 90º degree turn to the left, unless you go right, and the left again.

It happens to me everytime I drop to an inside corner ledge near the corner :rolleyes:

If you are updating the initial post, feel free to edit my description to something more understandable, if you feel so.

BTW, I hope a patch is on the way. It's already to much bugs :(

I dunno if this is just me but i figured i'd sign up and post this cause it's quite a serious bug imo.

I'm in the Arctic Sea and I've just got to the big room where the scene plays that shows natla starting the ritual.

Now all that is well and good but when i start running around afterward, a minuite or so later my screen goes blank and the game crashes completely. What makes it worse is that when i turn off my ps3 and restart it and the game, it says i have no auto save so i have to create a new one and load the game from where i saved it previously. It's happened to me twice now and when i use the ps3's saved data utility there are a couple of saves that say 'corrupted data'.

Bit of a pain! Anyone else suffered this problem or are you all gonna tell my ps3 is nearing death! xD

There is another skull on a pillar with handles on the back, and the mini statue with the pole (the one I'm supposed to put the other skull on) is not letting me place the skull on it!

I'm playing on 360, is there something wrong?? Has this happened to anyone else??

happened to me, too...
I was a bit afraid that TRU is going to smash my PS3 :vlol: happened two or three times and just at that certain point but I never had problems reloading my save game.

IN the Mident serpent level (something like that apologies for the spelling) when you are in the central room with the 4 mayan overlords the room (and anything in it) vanishes. from certain angles.

Also earlier in this level there is a required wall kick to reach a pole above you. The left hand wall had no collision to it twice and lara fell threw it.

In "Xibalba" when you kept turning the calender (near the cage+lowering pole scenario) the game just froze. It froze my XBOX 360.

No, the statue with a pole requires a jaguar head.
Skull is for the other calendar.

Solution: Drive to the next section of the map (via the underground tunnel). Rain will reappear in all parts of the map.


I am on México now, just on the start of the level. The first time rain dissapeared I did what you explained and it worked :tmb:, but every time I die the rain is gone again, but I don't want to go to the tunnel every single time it happens :o

Well...if you had an earlier manual savegame (before aligning the calendars) - load that one. Or anything closest to it.

There's a bug when calendars get permanently stuck if you fail to get to Xibalba and cannot be rotated at all.

Hi, I can't open the corridor, the puzzle is already solved but I didn't get in time, ( I died, I am a bad bike raider :p ) and now I can't move the mayan calendar to open the door again. How do I restart the level? I play on PS3 .

I dont know which calendar is which, but I think that if you fail the time trial on the bike, you have to go to NOT the last calendar you completed, but the one before which will be unset and the trial starts again when you set it.
(If you go to the wrong one it will be set and you cant move anything) .. I think!?

I think I had a bug with swing poles discarded on the ground. Once I had picked up the pole, and later dropped it somewhere else, it seemed to have disappeared from where I last left it.

This happened a lot - especially in Mexico. Towards the end of the game, I found out that if you drop the pole on a surface which is not completely flat, it kind of "sinks" underneath the ground, so it is no longer visible.

Solution: Reload or never put pole directly on ground, but always in a pole slot.

Thanks, finally I did it . I had to replay from the place where you find the first skull . It took me like 12 attemps to reach the other side , but this time I had saved just before solving the puzzle . Gosh ... I hate the motorbike :hea: :p

There's a bug when calendars get permanently stuck if you fail to get to Xibalba and cannot be rotated at all.

Hi again. Since I forgot to save at the beginning of each level the first time I've played the game, I had to start all over again -- not a biggie in my case. ;) I've just finished Xibalba and I think I have found the source of the abovementioned problem: don't save the game right after solving the second calendar puzzle and before the motorcycle run to the exit. This is what is causing the bug of both calendar stuck if you don't make in time and have to reset one of them again. This time I hadn't such problem -- I didn't make it in time again -- actually, it took me 4-5 times to beat it :o , but I didn't have any problems with the calendar aligment -- you only have to reset the outer rings.

Hope this will help the people who had this problem. :)

EDIT: Hmmm, racing into Xibalba was pretty easy - an shouldn't I get an achievement for doing it within the time limit? It hasn't popped up :S

It was the most difficult thing of TRU for me so far :o I hate the bike :D

Sometimes Lara dies unexpectedly. I was on Thailand getting off from the weighing scale you use to bring Shivas arm down/up . I crashed with the scale that is just beside the other and Lara died :vlol: Another time I was performing the swan dive to go downstairs and she died too :p

On the PC version, I had added Po Yu's 100% savegame to my saves folder. When I started TRU and chose to start a new game, the enemies are there, the puzzle are unsolved, but all the relics and treasures are gone(recorded as found in her PDA) and the health meter is in the blue. Odd.

That's normal. Autosave records all your progress including what relics and treasures were found. It's a single profile similar to how it was done in Legend.

I had 2 major bugs.

1. Thailand - near the Shiva statue.

I picked up a pole that I needed to insert into a hole and then swing on, but put it down and decided to try something else first. Then I died. After that, the pole was laying in it's proper place on the ground but I could not pick it up at all.

Solution - because I had done no manual saves at this point (PS3) = restart the game.

2. Mexico - collecting the 4 stones from the trap rooms

I collected 3 and seen them in my inventory. A bit later on I checked my inventory again and they had completely disappeared, just vanished. I checked if they had somehow returned to their puzzle rooms but they hadn't, they were nowhere.

Solution - go back to last manual save.

I had other things too, which I'll mention but I don't consider to be a big issue. The game froze a couple of times (this happens on other games (Oblivion) too) and I had a couple of black screens. I just switched the PS3 off and came back to the last autosave. It wasn't a problem, just an inconvenience, as I didn't have replay half the game like I did with the bugs above. :rolleyes:

The technical glitches like Lara's legs sinking into buildings and the ground happened all the time, but stuff like that I consider to be trivial. Same with Lara getting stuck in animation loops. It happened lots, but was easily overcome and not worth bothering about.

bug in yggdrasil;

i ran into the hall after leaving the last level i was in, turned left at the end, ran down some stairs, and then turned right. CTD. every time i tried to pass that spot (see screenshot below, the ledge is the spot) took me some playing around, but i decided to look around. oh, a thrall that hasn't been activated.

if you look a bit to the left and far back in the corner, you see the thrall.

lure it out with a grenade thrown as far as possible into the almost exact center of the hall

when he gets in range of the hammer (quite a distance, but close enough the targeting crosshair thing turns into the grey 'i see you but i can't kill you with my guns' version), kill it with the hammer blast.

when it dies, it should be safe to continue.

no more crash.

I encountered the following bug in Southern Mexico: The Midgard Serpent, though I can imagine it happening in other places too.

When you climb up to the ledge using the grapple there is an artifact and a medipack I think.
I didn't stand directly in front of the artifact and pressed E to pick it up, which triggered a "Sims" like animation when they can't go to a certain place. She would walk to it, turn around, walk away, walk in circles, go back to the artifact, turn around, then bow down and fall through the map, which killed her.

Solution: stand exactly in front of the artifact when picking it up.

What I do know now is after playing TRU again is that the bug that forced me to restart because the screen would suddenly go blank even though the game was still running was in fact the end in-game cutscene failing to activate. So I had actually finished the game but I didn't know it was the end at first being my first play through.:) So there is a new one for the list as can see it wasn't added in the first place.

SOLUTION:
The solution is simple, just make frequent manual saves, which I did with my 2nd play through so if this happens just reload you last save.;)

If the end cut scene not activating isn't a a big glitch then I don't know what is!:vlol:

I can assure you it was a game issue & not a hardware issue. For a starter the game didn't crash it was still running & you could still call up the PDA the screen was blank because it was meant to be the end of the game. I also know it was a game issue because the glitch was also auto saved, if it were a hardware issue surely it would have been resolved once I quite the game & reloaded resume game?;) Which I tried many times.

This happened to me in the demo. The pole was lying a metre or two from the short crawlspace nearby, but couldn't be picked up. I turned on hint icons to make sure. Well, if I then entered the crawlspace, the hand icon appeared. But Lara couldn't pick it up while crouching.

There are shortcut options to work around this glitch. But they could be hard to perform. Check these videos.

For the first video's shortcut, it's pretty easy to slip off, and you'll have to move fast.

For the walljump shortcut, you need to take a standing jump first, which means press jump first, then add a directional, just like the classics' standing jump. And the last walljump you have to make a swan dive, so add Crouch after jumping off the wall.

i wonder if this has been reported already...

whenever lara does a fast shimmey around corners (both with her legs on the wall or not), it goes extremely buggy, it happens everywhere and very often. the only way is to stop pressing interact before she reaches a corner. sometimes she goes to the opposite side of a shimmey in a split second, and saving quite some time however! not sure it's what i desire though...

I forgot to save manually and now I have to replay from the serpent hall :yik::cen: . I am giving up today. I don't wanna have to repeat the same again. Maybe another day.

It is my fault, I forget saving manually at single step I take cause you never know where the bugs are gonna rise , you'd better don't forget saving often manually :hea:.

Yeah... that would actually make more sense. It was just a little odd because I never saw him at all; as far as I could tell, he just spawned down there. After I killed the 2 tigers, it dawned on me there should have been a third, and--lo and behold--there he was :p.

Bug: Lara won't make the 90º degree turn in "inside corner ledges" if you drop to the ledge near the corner
Solution: Move Lara in the oposite direction, and then again in direction of the corner you want to turn.

I hope it is self-explained, but in case I'm not expressing myself very well, I'll try to give an example.

In thailand, before the second tiger fight, you are in a platform from witch you have to drop to a ledge, make a turn to the left in what I'm calling an inside corner ledge, and them climb, up to the place where you fight the tigers. If you drop from the platform to the ledge near the corner (near the wall), Lara will refuse to make the 90º degree turn to the left, unless you go right, and the left again.

It happens to me everytime I drop to an inside corner ledge near the corner :rolleyes:

If you are updating the initial post, feel free to edit my description to something more understandable, if you feel so.

BTW, I hope a patch is on the way. It's already to much bugs :(

Edit: Sorry, I didn't read it properly. But that too happens to me. I remember one case in Remnants, above the pit with bats in the last tunnel. She sometimes refuses to make the 90 degree turns around the red pillars on each wall, facing each other. I don't think it's happened to me personally anywhere else.

Lara disappeared once in the Artic level. I was at the top of the huge pillar with turning parts and I couldn't kill her. So I did all the way down with her invisible. It was a very weird experience, hehe. Unfortunately, most of these bugs kill the game for non TR fans.

when you fall into the eitr, you get to see the end of the world, aka, outside the level boundries.

it doesn't really affect gameplay at all, if you don't count defeating the realism of the game, and the solution... well you don't need a solution, you get reloaded automatically.

i found this most irritating when i was trying to get that gold relic in the artic sea level, she just seems to have a suicide wish and keep missing those ledges and poles.

talking of which, i had one experience where the eitr surface texture stopped animating.

I came across this as well.;) It is annoying as you can't reset the puzzle. This game requires you to make frequent manual saves sadly.:(

I reloaded Arctic Sea (The outside part with the swords, I had just raised the first one.) through the Resume Game option in the menu and to my surprise it reloaded Andaman Sea and Lara wore the Drysuit (Light). I'm in the Natla capsule area, and Natla's gone. I run forwards and fall into an endless black. Then my Xbox 360 crashes.
I restart my Xbox and reload Arctic Sea through the Resume Game option again, and now I run backwards, away from the area. I can go as far as the doors will allow me, and then I run back, and when I return to the capsule room, I trigger a cutscene (The screen fades.) but nothing happens. The Xbox 360 doesn't crash, either. I'm just stuck. :confused:

There isn't a savegame for the level, either! The game seems to have overwritten the Helheim save with the Rituals Old save, because there are two Rituals Old saves after each other. I think my whole savegame collection is bugged, anyway, because everything isn't in order. Or is that normal?

I don't honestly know if this is a bug or not, but in Treasure Hunt mode, after I get through the crypt part in Croft Manor, I can't get to the corridor where the Manor blows. The switch has been thrown but the door is not moved. It's sorta irritating. But I guess there aren't any treasures in the Manor itself.

We really, really need a replay level function.

Hm i had a weird happening the other day on the Artic level just before the part with Natla. I was killing some thralls then all of a sudden the screen went black :confused: I thought it might of been the tv but the PS3 was still on and loading the game...I had to turn my PS3 off from the back :cen: when i put the game back in it worked fine so im not sure if it was the PS3 or the game...Iv never had this with any other games. O yeah i also had a minor bug on the Med when i came out of the water Lara still had her mask on but after re entering the water it fixed it.

I think this hasn't been mentioned;
Play the first level (croft manor), pause then start a new game, and there is a graphics glitch, where the shadows and lighting is static. If you pause then unpause it will be reset. It's very noticeable at the windows in croft manor.

The ones that sway from all the flames? Strange, couldn't reproduce it, but added to oddities nevertheless (i've seen reports of the same thing happening on X360).

I don't know if this exactly belongs here, but it's an oddity to me.

When you play the Prologue, there is a breakable vase on a table next to the pushable crate. However, when playing the full manor level, it's not there. :p

Another one. I was replaying the game and accidentally bypassed the trigger for the Thor No Longer cutscene by not moving the bridge far enough to match it with the exit platform, then jumping past the small gap on the right, just before the doorway. The level Puppet No Longer was never initiated, but I could still finish Thailand as a location.

Huh? o_o I had to push the box again, and I never broke the vase on my first visit. I didn't even realise it was breakable on my first play through (Hint icons off).

Well NOW it got weird! xD


Edit for Chris: I'm playing on PC and have ran across the following glitches from the first post's list.

G2 (In particular stuck at the bottom of a slope, continuously swinging one of her feet), G3, G5, G5a, G5b, G8 (on the first bridge in Xibalba), G12a (with lower level pole at start of Bhogavati), G15, S5, S8

By the way, a solution for G5b: Press crouch and Lara will cancel her attempt at picking up an item, throwing a lever etc...

Just replaying the game and have come across another funny bug.

After you collect the first gauntlet in Thailand, you exit the room with the large bridge and there is grapple ring on the wall above a pool of water.

I did a wall run on this wall and a bunch of spiders attacked Lara whilst she was attached to the grapple. I fell into the water but Lara's body position was just frozen - one arm held up awkwardly at an angle. She wouldn't dive or move to get out of the water, although I could move her across the surface.

Solution - exit game and come back at last autosave.
Platform - PS3.

Bug: Lara gets stuck in an animation loop (is "stuck in a texture" in some cases).

Bug: Unresponsive controls due to animation quirks. For example, if you nearly push Lara off the edge and she does her "flail" motion, you may not be able to move into the direction you want afterwards. Or: while standing on a beam/pole she refuses to walk.

G5a.
Bug: Lara won't make the 90º degree turn in "inside corner ledges" if you drop to the ledge near the corner


G5b/G6a.
Bug: Attempts to pick up an object (usually a medkit) causes an "animation loop", where Lara awkwardly circles around the object until she picks it up. The loop may also continue even without the eventual pick up, in which case Lara may fall through the ground.

Bug: Lara dies upon bumping into some specific object in the level (for example, wooden ramps in Xibalba corridor).

Bug: Quick shimmy round the corner causes animation glitches.

Bug: No rain in the very beginning of the level (usually in Treasure Hunt).
This happened to me in first gameplay .

Bug: After failing to enter Xibalba for the first time, calendar plates get stuck and none of them can be operated.

I had the same problem when I was trying to leave Xibalba, again, I failed to get out because I died . When I tried to place the jaguar head on the puzzle Lara had an extrange animation and after a while she just pulled the lever without putting the jaguar head so the door didn't open . i had to load a manual savegame .

Oddities

- camera goes nuts when attempting to drop down safely (using the 'crouch' key) and grab a corner ledge;

- (camera goes nuts when attempting to exit a crawlspace that ends with a ledge (in fact, any crawlspace will do);

- some enemies can enter the state of 'utter stupidity' - they run in circles, ignoring Lara (and some cannot be killed)

- certain jumps towards ledges (especially corners) temporarily embeed Lara into the texture;


On the artic level I jumped from a ledge to land on safe floor, but Lara went trough the floor like a ghost and apeared underwater .


EDIT

Artic level, again I wanted to land on safe floor, she went trough it again but this time she died because I was on the room when you first meet Natla, with that blue liquid, so she fall in the liquid and died

Bug: After completing the gauntlet chamber, a lever is missing which is required to open the exit
Solution: Either restart the game and do not save before getting past that room, or download a gamesave from Eidos. There are various ways to perform the drop down safe glitch, and it should work on all platforms. But it's useful and doesn't require fixing. :tea:

oh besides, this is not exactly a bug, but i much prefer the keyboard controls on TRA to TRL's, where pressing left on the keyboard would make lara shimmey left on ledges regardless of the camera (except in some rare occasions where the camera is at some weird angles). in TRU this seems to be a mix between TRL and TRA, which makes it extremely confusing and keyboard players have to adjust their mouse to non-45 degree angles to jump to the correct direction, i only died a few times because of that, as i don't jump until she was looking at it...

On the PC

I can confirm that the G10 bug occurs here too (happened to me in the Med level). Also, the S5 bug (i.e. rain in Mexico) does not only occur at the very beginning of the level. I have seen the rain stop (even though you can hear it) during other outside areas in Mexico, and frequently. This wasn't during "Treasure Hunt" mode, either.

This is probably just either a oddity or a rant :p but I was a little disappointed when I was playing on the Jan Mayen Island. When Lara talked in the cutscene in front of the big door there, you could see her breath because of how cold it was there with the snow and all. After the cutscene ended...No breath!! Arggg....Details CD..Details!! I pay a lot of attention to details. The way the character looks, the way the hair moves, facial expressions, etc. I noticed you could see her breath in the Anniversary game and that's on the PS2! A little disappointed in that. I know it's very small but I was just like "Well that sucks." It kind of takes me out of the feel of the game instead of making me feel like I'm actually there.

talking of hair... when lara's looking in a direction that's not part of her animation, her hair strands go all wonky. :S most noticible when she's balancing on a beam, but it's easily found. try killing an enemy and stand next to it. or something.

Well, I wouldn't say this an important glitch, but it was fun to do...
In the Arctic Sea level, (at the start), when there's this massive statue, go to the right and face the two nodes and go as far forwards as possible, then turn right and fight against the almost non-existent current while swimming as far right as possible. Lara will soon land on ground, free to run. :D

I discovered this while looking for the relic.
She also disturbs dust when she runs, which is pink and green...

I'm at the Lara's father room. After the fight against the slaves (wich I defeated with a stick that was on the floor), I go in front of a box with some jars and I break all. After this, Lara freezes, Xbox freezes and I must restart the console with the on/off button.

Bug: In the room where you find the grey "stone" (from the 4 stones in that room with the spiders), after you colect the stone, while trying to get back, if you go against the "closing stones" near you when they are closed, right in the midle, Lara will die.
Solution: Well, just don't do it :D

Again, I hope someone can find a better way to explain this. I play in the PC version. If anything needs clarification, feel free to ask.

l am lazy today or blind, does anyone happen to have a solution to the save game crash problem on PC, it is really starting to annoy me. l thought it was only triggered by saving the game actually on the checkpoint which would give a black screen and error report rather than going back to the game. But why would there be a checkpoint on the last blade in the spear room in Mexico, and yet l have again lost the game after saving. PC works as well as can be expected playing the game, but it is getting very annoying manually saving. Auto save is fine, so starting the game up will put me back near the stone key, the save game is fine it is just some weird bug actually getting back to the game once you have saved. l played the game 3 times and never had it, but then l never saved anywhere near the checkpoints. Now l need to l discover yet another problem. :(

If you mean the general "it occasionally crashes when you manually save, usually after a checkpoint" bug, then... :( no. Both myself and one other person on the forums here (can't remember his name right now) have posted about this in our TRU Tech Support forum, and none of us have been able to resolve it yet. It's pretty frustrating.

Was replaying the Arctic sea level and just started the cinematic where Natla performs the ritual to open Avalon. And in the middle of it the screen went black and i had to restart! No sounds, nothing.

Hi i have one thats really upsetting me :( Playing PC Version

In mexico after solving the Jaguar Heads puzzle i made it down to the middle to late.

I exited the game and when i came back i loaded at the entrance to the middle but I have no bike so i cant get back past over the first bridge to get back to the first jaguar head :(

if anyone know how to get back to a specfic one of your save point it would be greatly appreciated really dont want to have to start the game again

You can only go back if you manually saved it, there is only one autosave for the game which is overwritten each time you go through a checkpoint. Did you look for your bike further back near the last temple you came from? I can provide a save game for either the race to the temple (from the left side temple) or inside the gates of Xibalba.

The Dead Tigers and Dead People fall right Into the Ground and dissappear.

There are Invisible Walls everywhere, i cant even go to the front of Lara's Boat, its blocked by an Invisible Wall.

The Shadow on Lara looks fake and wobbly

The Camera is Horrible aswell and Lara moves like a Jack Rabbit.

There are missing textures on the Walls or the Camera goes into the wall.

When i kill a Thrall, its body parts would be stuck in mid air.

When i throw a Grenade, it would freeze in mid air right in front of me.

When Lara slide down a slope or run, she would like be in mid air a few inches always.

I would say that most, if not all, of the things he's mentioned really are issues with the game itself. (And yes, the shadows are still just as glitchy on Lara now as they were in the demo, usually only obvious in certain places.)

Still, even with the bugs/glitches, I thoroughly enjoyed the game ;).

I've mangaged to get the achievement to unlock. I went to the Jan Mayen Island level on Treasure Mode and did the race down the spiral tower again and the achievement unlocked.

So all those who were stuck should try out treasure mode.

Thailand: The bridge room.

Finished it in normal play. Came back through the level in treasure hunt mode the front way. I could hear the bridge move as I entered the area. The bridge was reset to its initial state.

When I tried to move it at the base, it suddenly swung around violently to the "relic" orientation next to the norse statue. Now I cannot move it from the base. When I reenter the level it's still there stuck next to the norse statue and it is constantly jittering up and down as if it's in the process of moving. I've entered the area from both the normal way and the exit path way.

If I try to grapple the ring on the bridge, I grapple, swing over to the block, and then my grapple disconnects automatically and I die falling.

Not sure how to solve this since I've already finished the story, and I've reentered the level several times and the bridge remains broken.

Edit: and I'm on the PC.

I was playing tru on my xbox360, got it in xibalba xD
While fitghing against 3 spiders (after you solve xibalba's lords puzzle), one of them got stuck in that corner, bouncing all the time xD
after he stops and remained firm in order to be killed lol xD
after i kill him, he started to bounce again xD but he does not lost his collision, so even if lara doesn't aim him i can't still shoot and attack in his direction... it's a bit cruel hearing him kinda crying, but still lollish xD
i know it's hard to notice because of the quality, but from 1:52 you can see lara looking at him and moving her head weirdly"

Bug: When I entered this room for the first time in Treasure Hunt mode, everything was fine but... when I got down onto a ledge below to move the bridge (so that I could eventually cross the room again), I noticed the bridge was on the very edge of the ledge.

I figured it would be okay to Interact with it as long as I didn't push it further off the edge, since my plan was to pull it towards me instead. Well... as soon as I interacted with it (just pressed E, didn't even move in a direction), the bridge--and Lara--got instantly teleported all the way across the gap ahead, to the next ledge. This wasn't a problem since I was still able to finish the moving it to the exit, but it appears to be a glitch that occurs when the bridge ends up on the edge of a ledge, so... it could cause problems for some.

Also...

Platform: PC
Location: Jan Mayen Island, one of the Hammer Hall rooms (but probably not location specific)
Bug: I encountered a bug similar to what's been posted above, where one of the giant white spiders ends up in some kind of animation loop, bouncing up and down over and over and making noises.
Solution: May fix itself if you leave the area and come back.

What seemed to trigger it was the fact that he had been jumping from one ledge down to the ground, and I managed to kill him while he was in mid-air, so he died but... got caught in the bouncing loop. I noticed that when I left the room and returned later on, he was just lying on the ground dead.

Note: I realize something very similar has been posted about this already, but I wanted to confirm it anyway.

Starting a new game: I want to restart the game, complete with all the treasures back in place. But when I start a new game it still remembers what treasures I'd found in the previous game. Has anyone found a way, short of moving my save games out of their folder, to start a clean new game?

Bug: If for some reason the gauntlet is still active when Puppet No Longer begins (can happen even when you do go through the cutscene) do NOT go back to the bridge room and close the gate. The gauntlet can suddenly lose it's power, and if you then trigger a checkpoint, you will have another case of permanently stuck!

Solution: Reload earlier save, restart game... And all that.

I used Jungle Heavy and didn't experience the bug. I've only played up to that point once so far, though. Haven't tried reversing the order I do the calendars, which was suggested as a potential cause.

Looks like I've experience a new glitch on the PS3. Though I collected all pieces, one must of felll out of my backpack when I died...

Basically because I died after collecting a piece and likely didn't insert beforehand, this key/piece vanished and has decided to not reappear.

Edit: Redone the stage and completed it now by doing the white key first and then placing the keys into the slots as soon as I got them. Could've been because I didn't collect more than 1 and try to place at once. Perhaps when you get 3, 1 disappears.

There was this MASSIVE bug in Mexico. Just after you enter the gates of Xibalba, you pass the corridors until you get to the gap. When you do, the platforms are lowered, and the only way to raise them, is to pull down a ledge. But...that ledge is located on the other side... The gap is un-crossable, so your motorbike is useless in this situation.

The only way you can remove this bug is to download a save game. Be warned...it might not contain the same amount of secrets you had originally
So do you know how to get round this if playing on the xbox 360? Have tried restarting from the beginning of xibalba, and many times after the cutscene when she drives into the xibalba corridor. Can't get any further in the game and have had to stop playing pending a solution.

Not sure it anyone had this problem. After opening the hidden passage in manor ("protected by dead" level) which leads into the corridor where the explosion cut scene starts and Lara saying "My God", Lara and her house disappeared and I could see only orange background and hear her screaming. Couldn't move, shoot, and couldn't exit game. Had to do it manually - ctrl+alt+del. That happened to me twice. I think because I sprinted into the corridor to fast. Regular running animation triggers the cut scene and the game continues normally.

Hi guys!

Just wondering if it occurs on all platforms. Well... being in Thailand just a few steps before cut-scene with tigers-first-attack I saw something strange... just look at my screenshots. At first I thought it was a "rope" or something like that, but no... imo it looks like someone cut by knife my screen ;) when you look at it from other sides it disappears! (3rd link) and restart doesn't help! I know we can experienced more frustrating bugs but for esthetic person like me it kills this place. Ah and my platform is ps3 and sorry for terrible quality ;) btw it's only one "bug" which I've seen / experienced so far...

I had a bug in Thailand... After the cutscene in Thor's room, we are supposed to pull/push the bridge with Thor's gauntlet... The problem is that I died... and then the walls weren't glowing, and I couldn't move them... I commited suicide over and over and it didn't work... I had to restart the level (I play on the PS3).

I've a suggestion... I've had weird data saved incorrectly in save games. Can you clean out your save games on an XBox? I suspect the autosave is corrupt, and it's causing other save games to load the incorrect state of the bike ramps.

Oh, and don't save manually while you're in Xibalba either.

Starting a new game: I want to restart the game, complete with all the treasures back in place. But when I start a new game it still remembers what treasures I'd found in the previous game. Has anyone found a way, short of moving my save games out of their folder, to start a clean new game?

Edit: on the PC.

FYI moving/deleting the save games does allow you to start a new game with all the treasures in place. But starting a new game with previous save games existing causes the new game to react as if you'd found the treasures in your previous game.

Without wishing to derail this thread, I really do think these bugs are unacceptable - the glitches that make it impossible to complete the game are absurd, as are some of the more consistent ones like the PLS not working after a while in Treasure Hunt mode or the rain not falling at the start of Mexico. Electrified ramps and falling through the scenery shouldn't be happening in a game that's brimming with so much quality in all areas of its execution. I would be very upset if they didn't create a PC/console patch to fix a lot of this...

It has been confirmed on the first page of this (http://www.tombraiderforums.com/showthread.php?t=140078) thread that they are working on a patch :tmb:. Hopefully it'll take care of at least the majority of the bugs/glitches...

I noticed a few bugs that I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned yet.

1 - During the Med. Sea level, Lara's right arm was always stretched right out during the cutscene where you make it back to her boat. Her elbow was slightly twisted and her wrist wasn't connected to her arm anymore. As a result, Lara's Field Camera was floating when she should have been holding it. Her arm stayed in this poisition for the entire scene. I have started a new game and replayed this level, and the bug failed to occur the 2nd time.

2 - In the Croft Manor level, when the Tiger Thralls attack Lara after the tape recorder message from her father, I used sticky grenades to kill the thralls. Upon detonation, my PS3 system froze. I rebooted the system, and resumed the game and the same thing happened again. I managed to get around this problem by not using Grenades, but it was still highly irritating.

Just been playing Southern Mexico and had placed 4 coloured tablets in a stone table, raised the platform, driven the bike down the tunnel and over a slope... but then the game crashed at the second cut scene (I think due to windows popping up a reboot reminder in the background), so I had to kill and reload the game... but when I start playing again, I am on the pedestal/spider side, and the bike is on the water side (I can just see it through a crack), so I cant get to the water side as you need the bike to get there.
This is on PC.

I'm making my way through Thailand, and I've just gotten to the Shiva temple area. If you go left, and around, you'll see a naga lizard on the wall. However, the one I encountered circles and circles and circles clockwise on the wall, never to end. Lara can shoot him and it has no effect. Even brought out the reticles, and they see him. Something triggered him, but it never finished. This is before triggering the platform to tumble to the ground far below.

Also, I've noticed the corpses of the naga all die in very strange poses.

Just thought it was weird. I haven't tried to reload the level and play again.

Right before you can receive thor's belt, you have to kill 2 undead wikings or something. one of that dead corpes tumbled into that hollow where you have to move the pillar to.
I you now move the pillar to its destination position (where the dead winking corpse tumbled in) there seams to be a collision problem. The big and heavy pillar will jump into the air (and may not land upstanding) if you load from a checkpoint later. This will perhaps prevent you from receiving the relic.
Only solution I know is to load a saved position before you kill that undead wikings at the ground and make sure that no corpses remain in that hollow.
Hmm .. maybe there is a way to bomb the corpse out of that hollow with a grenade, too.

Don't know if anyone has noticed this one or had it as it only happened to me once. One the second day of playing i was in Xibalba and when the camera zooms on the jaguar head you pick up to complete the end of the mexico level. Well, did the level got to the end and it had vanished, it wasn't in her backpack anymore - I went back down the steps to see if it was there or not and nope nothing. Can you imagin the anger i felt having spent ages working out the mexico level :mad:

Also on that level, when you come to the room where Thor's belt is, she wouldn't go round the crumbling corner, so i had to jump up to save her life so she didn't fall in the poison grr... And had to use a bug in the game and thank no invisible walls to jump down and complete the game :mad:

Two bugs in the same level in one day, just wasn't my day that one.


Oh i'm on ps3 version by the way.

I've just had a rather annoying bug.

I just re-completed the Coastal Thailand level on Master Survivalist (to unlock some stuff) and created a save file for the Croft Manor level. I then quit the game and reloaded my Treasure Hunt save file, to see if I could just swim down the tunnel to the guantlet room in Coastal Thailand.

When I went and picked up all the relics, I couldn't find the entrance to the tunnel, so now knowing where it was, I went through. After this, I wanted to continue my Master Survivalist playthrough. I went to reload my Croft Manor save, and it wasn't there. Apart from my Treasure Hunt save, the other other save file was at the start of Coastal Thailand.

EDIT: I just beat the Coastal Thailand level again and started the Croft Manor level. The game still freezes if I try to use sticky grenades on the Tiger Thralls. Stuff like this needs to be fixed by Eidos, and fast.

Bug: Skipping the gauntlet/thralls cutscene too fast will cause the thralls to activate incorrectly, and they will not come after Lara.
Solution: Well if you're that desperate to fight them, suicide and they will magically start functioning.

Location: Croft Manor
Bug: Dying after killing the thralls but before reaching the next checkpoint will cause the game to load with the thralls alive, but the ammo and grenades you may have used for killing them previously will be gone.
Solution: Try not to die lol

The bug is when Lara tries to jump onto a ledge or up a block she 'sticks' to the wall. When I try to get her off the wall often times she will jump backwards. I dubbed this Lara's Spiderman powers. From reading this thread I think that the problem has already been addressed in before in the Oddities section (it's the 8th one on the list), but I was wondering if there was a way around this because it seemed to be happening on 98% of the ledges that I needed to jump on. Is there a way to make her jump so she sticks to the wall less frequently?

I have this problem alot too. It's not so much a bug as more the game failing to be able to follow the commands you give it. The problem usually occurs when jumping while moving forward. If you're directly under a ledge, jumping straight up usually gets you where you need to be without hassle. However, if you have to jump from one ledge to another, it's really up to the game if Lara grabs it or not.

It gets particularly annoying during one of the frequent combinations of ledges, poles, etc and you get right to the end, and the Lara does what she likes and not what you told her to do and you have to do that part again. It should be fixed easily enough with a patch.

I'm stuck in Mexico. As mentioned above, I don't get to Xibalba the first time. Now neither calendar will move so I'm totally stuck. It is suggested that restarting the level is an option. Ok - how do I do this? I notice in the PDA there is an option to revisit location but this is "greyed out" in my options. Can someone Pleeese help as I don't want to have to totally restart the game!!!!

INSANE amounts of clipping. Lara will get stuck in objects and bounce up and down until you stop trying to get her out.

Occasionally, the controls will freeze up.

Mexico - Treasure Hunt - Laras light will not work at all.

Thailand - Strange looking Black "Zip Line" near where the first set of tigers enter. It looks like a zipline but disappears when you rotate the camera. Probably a off texture.

Let's see how to start...

Freezing: Loading your saved game as soon as the screen fades and a cutscene is about to appear will freeze up your game. lol

Freezing: Certain checkpoints you pass will freeze your game if you go back to do it again. One is the second-to-last checkpoint in "Tomb Raider:Underworld/Prologue". Go near to where the Zip/Allister cutscene appears, and come back to the previous checkpoint and drop down near a ledge (where the broken floor was) - the game should freeze if you come back up and progress. The fire, sound, and graphic effects will just freeze.

Freezing: Opening up your PDA when climbing up a ledge (where there is limited space) and closing it also freezes up your game. I know this works on the very 1st Coastal Thailand ledge you climb up on near to some bushes and a rocky platform.

Bug: Game settings are not stored like Brightness, etc.

Bug: You cannot go back to main menu after you have loaded a game or start a new one, to perhaps check out Xbox Live content.

Bug: No music theme is played in the main menu like on the PC demo of TRU.

Bug: "Bad" camera when close to surrounding walls/objects.

Bug: Can't take pictures of the beautiful scenery in TRU!


All this sucks because it freezes not only the NXE, but the Xbox Guide button too! In Windows XP/Vista, only the game itself fixes and not the actual OS. It's pretty sucky for both the game and the Xbox Guide button to freeze. :o

I guess it is because it is expecting the game to respond to the Xbox Guide button. Xbox Guide button should be for the NXE only, and not the running game... :D

I thought too that's a bug, I always thought the game "crashed" when I chose to quit game from the in-game menu. I didn't realise it was supposed to close the whole thing. (This on PC by the way)

If you want to go back to the main menu, select to start a new game from the main menu, answer yes to the first question. The manor backdrop should appear, and you can now cancel the selection when asked for to choose a difficulty level. Tada! You're in the main menu.

Ok iv had my game freeze twice on me now which is pretty annoying as i have to switch the PS3 off from the back....Im pretty sure it is the game and not my PS3 as other games never freeze. The first time it froze was in the final level fighting some thralls with the hammer then it froze today on Croft Manor after killing the thralls...i kicked a jar and it froze :confused:

Also i don't know if you found this bug already but on my first play through in mexico in the thor room i got the relic and made my way back up to the top level but i tried to pull the block away from the last 2 secrets but she couldn't do it coz her belt was deactivated for unfortunate reason even after the part where she gets the belt i had to reload an earlier save game and start from there and eventually got past it. I played on PS3.

Well what do you know, l just had a kill Lara to get out of it glitch. :vlol:

Yes there had to be at least one problematic glitch in the 360 version, but nothing major. In the final Arctic Sea chapter Out of Time, l had pushed the 2 lower blocks in, given one the hammer and was just pushing the higher block in when zap blank screen! l sat and waited a bit, nothing, pressed the select button, yes everything there was working, resumed the game and it was back, but Lara was invisible. Fine l saved it, then went and killed her, sure enough everything was back to normal.

The 360 also is the same as the PC with the save glitch in Southern Mexico (Midgard Serpent), where if you save after you leave the bike but before the Ragnarok cutscene, and then load the save game, Lara will appear back just before the rune covered block, with no bike and no way to get over.

No l never lost the PLS on the Xbox 360, and l often got on the bike and had it on. If l had it on before a cutscene, it would be off during the cutscene and after, but still worked OK. There was only minor clipping in the xbox 360 version, she only got stuck a few times and l could reach a few areas l could not on the PC. The save gage bug where if you saved on the checkpoint the game would likely crash was also not present on the Xbox 360.

Not a game-breaking glitch by any means - but an odd one. The naga that runs up the wall (the unkillable one) at the beginning of the Shiva/Kali area twice now has not run up the wall, but just run around and around in a circle, never ending and non-killable. Crazy little thing :D

(PS3, btw).

Sounds like some serious map-patching, editing game levels, is needed.
(But how the heck do you patch maps, without the map-editor for TRU?)

You can do dynamic-additions to a built map with meshes, inventory, NPCs, etc. But flaws with missing inventory might require some serious TRU.exe surgery?

I don't think the bike has anything to do with it. The PLS disappeared for me in Croft Manor. I'm not sure exactly what happened, but I went to turn it on and suddenly realized it was missing. I think I quit and then reloaded my save to get it back.

It is either just the PC version, or PC and PS3 that have the vanishing PLS.

Weird. The disappearance in Croft Manor was during my first play-through. I guess this thing has no discernable pattern to it :confused: Anyhow, I hope Crystal's patch will fix this along with the rain in Mexico disappearing, not to mention all of the critical game-stopping bugs listed on the first post. I'm kind of holding off replaying the game until the patch comes out. I was lucky and didn't experience any really bad bugs my first time through, but now I'm afraid to tempt fate by replaying without the patch :p

You're pretty good with details and this will take a master detective, mate.

In other games, when inventory seems to disappear, I have found it in memory right after a new or a duplicate item pushed it, off. (It's still there, but you have to drop that new item.) So, what could this item be?

For those having problems with the Master Swan Dive achievement; here's the solution. Start a new game making sure that you have saved your previous one in a new file. And all three are so close together that it is really simple to do. Do the following in order as given:

1) Swan dive from the top of the Kraken room (this can be done just after killing it or after the Thor ghaunlet piece was stolen from you.)
2) Swan dive from the white bin on the starboard side of Amanada's boat, the one that sinks into the Mediterreanean (starboard side is the side that your boat is parked on.) If you mess this up, just climb back up and try again.
3) Swan dive from that last corner at the top of the Thailand Coast; the one before going down the jungle path into the ruins.

Don't skip any of these thinking that you'll come back to them later. Just like the Speed demon runs, they need to be done in ONE ADVERTURE...not treasure hunt mode (yes, you will get the speed demon achievements in treasure hunt mode, but not the master speed demon.)

I think I've found another cause for the flashlight to disappear, (in treasure hunt mode) if it is on and you enter or pass by a location where there would be a cutscene, the flashlight will disappear, because it is always turned off in cutscenes.

nope, i'm on 360 and thats where i found the vanishing pls during treasure hunt mode, didn't happen during main game.
