Can't even get started.

This is frustrating... I've done TLR and Gold # 2, but can't even get past the initial Los Alamos/Calcutta cut scene. The program then offers up a game/sound/options/ & Lara's home stuff. But then it won't let me select anything. I can't even start the game. Can anyone help. I've searched several sites, no one seems to have this problem or a patch.
I've deleted the program a couple of times and tried to re-setup, but it doesn't do the set up anymore, goes to a small DOS screen and then to the cut scene. Help!!!

Hi SuzanneM, welcome to the forum. Do you have a joystick plugged in, or NUM LOCK selected on your keyboard ? Also, when you are presented with the configuration options, are you able to select anything there ? (i.e. does the game freeze)
Also, check you have selected the correct sound card, and you have updated drivers, as I have heard a NON-Soundblaster Comp. card has booted people out of the original Tomb Raider

OKay, I checked out the Num Lock, and it's always on, the Hubby's got a UltraRacer PC joystick plugged in, but doesn't use it much anymore. When I start up the program it doesn't even offer me the set up program like the others did to use joystick & stuff.

As for the soundcard, I had to check that out, I'm not the most computer savy person around. I know I've got 3Dfx Voodoo 3 video, and an Aureal Vortex2 PCI sound. Does that mean anything to you? Always worked well before. I can change the soundcard selection but it won't let me do a test, and I've noticed since you mentioned num lock, that when I go to game/sound/options/lara's home area, my keyboard almost seems to freeze up, can't even exit without control/alt/delete.

Hope you've got words of advice, or I think I'll have to abandon this and hope I get game 3 or chronicles for Christmas. Thanks!
