yeah, i'd love to see the manor back...
maybe at the start oif the next game there could be an amazing cut scene with the manor being rebuilt to Lara's specifications with a few new 'addons' lol
a new intro level with Lara running about the new manor during construction would be really fun to see :D

and if a level takes place in a hmm,.....lets say city like paris or maybe prauge, she could have a apartment there where she logs on the net to talk to zip about her discovery in that level.

I think there was a poll in the TRU main section but it must be buried far back.
Of course we need a manor! It's integral to TR and adds longevity for the players. If they wanna they could add loads of features in the manor house which integrate it with the main story.

we've blown up the manor, we need a new one.. obviously lots of nods to original manor etc, but all new, all fancy, and another uk stately home to be based on :)
I can't wait to see it either!

I'd love a new manor, honestly, it's symbolic for the TR series. Though I think it should borrow some things from the Legend one and please the maze and backyard from the classics, only updated a little. Also I would like to play the manor section during both night and day, maybe like a continuous cycle between these moments of the day.

Yes bring back the Manor and have it have more rooms (ei the kitchen and the freezer). What I liked about TRA and TRL was that I was able to practice moves when I got stuck during the game. Also I thought it was fun to explore her home and have her change outfits in her closet.

Yeah, for me it always belonged to Tomb Raider somehow, messing around in the manor.
It would be interesting to see how CD would develop the original one from the first games, or just a manor that resembles it a bit.
I definitely want the old manor back.
But not the hollywood version (again.)
To me the manor is a HUGE part of TR as when I was a little girl and my Dad had first bought me the game I was too scared to play on the main game so I just played in the Manor instead. :p
I also adored the assault course in and outside the house and the maze and the quad bike track and locking Winston in the fridge and discovering new rooms like the aquarium.:jmp:
The thing with the Manor was that when you finished the game it was always something fun to go back to if you were bored that never gets old (I still go on the Manor in the TR2 and TR3 games lol :o)

A more modern, updated version of the classic manor would be cool. Just with more furniture and stuff... the old manor was so empty.

I guess it will be a new manor and that will be probably the same manor that also appears in the new movie. Like it used to be in TRL and TRU.

I think the Mansion is one of the key elements that make a good Tomb Raider game into a great Tomb Raider game. The reason I love the inclusion of the mansion is that it offers alot of replay value, if you get frustrated or stuck in the main game the mansion was always there to calm you down, offer up some breathing space and brush up on your skills.
I missed the Manor so much in Underworld, and although I enjoyed it immensely, I still wish it was was included as a bonus level. The manor HAS to be included in TR9, a new one, which is completely explorable, have all the essential elements such as the Pool, Gym and the maze, but also include rooms such as a dining room, Kitchen, Armoury, garage and other simple rooms and a much larger garden.

Having a lake in the garden would be an excellent addition. Imagine little underwater caves and secrets, and a speedboat course.

I want a new manor. A big one.... a totally different look. And no puzzles just fun games to play. Like a driving track and shooting things and having secret places to explore.... mystery fun and all that from the classics. And have Lara interact more with the environment. Like turn on music and cook some food :D

Its just a little side area to play with, and in TR2s case, it added a REALLY cool level to the end of the game.....
I remember how I felt when that level loaded up.... Bartoli was dead, I figured game over... then all the sudden... "your breakin into my house? Hell No!!" (LOL sorry)
I can understand why the manor wasnt in TRU, becasue a large part of the story was based upon its destruction.....
But this give the designers a chance to reimagine the mansion again.....

Absolutely! You can do almost anything with the manor. I was thinking, would'nt it be excellent if they included the special features unlockables in the manor itself:
Cinematics= Tech Room or television area
Artwork gallery= Artifact Room and gallery
Unlockable weapons= Armoury
New Vehicles= Race track
Music Tracks= Music room
Information about the civilisations Lara visits= Library
There is so much to do with manor, that it has to be included!
of course we want the manor back! Crystal was fool to not bring the manor back. but I want it to be a huge house to explore. like an actual house not the 3-4 rooms like in the previous games... and also exterior manor with the frond and back yard and the maze and the back yard exersise thingy (don;t know how it is in English)

Nothing makes Tomb Raider unique anymore, certinately not the Manor. Other games have also bonus levels and hubs/houses.

Little side level? It's a big level and you all want it to be even bigger. You do realize that working on the Manor takes away the time that could be spend on the actual game?

Simply, there wasn't one in TR 4-6 and it didn't bother me a bit, nor did it took away "ohh the magic" or "ohh the uniqueness" from the franchise. As a true TR fan I want to raid tombs, not bathrooms. If I want the latter, I just play The Sims. The Manor's been done to death and for the actual game it's useless if it isn't part of the storyline (and before you say something, making it fit the storyline and having an assault on the Manor in every game would be utterly stupid). Time for some fresh ideas. If you didn't notice, this franchise is on the verge of fading into oblivion.
The Manor is still something that makes (for me) a Tomb Raider game really great. I can understand your point of view, but for me personally, the manor is something I always get excited about.

Exactly! That is what makes the Manor so fun to play. It's a break from the game, a little rest before jumping straight back into the action.
I liked the mansion because it was it's own level connected to the main game yet still something different

I love comparing the Manors in Anniversary and Legends - love how they changed the Pool room at least.
I'd bring back the Manor. Perhaps have her staying at one of the other family Estates.

Since she is scripted to have so many other mansions and homes i'd like to see them! And make them huge this time! No more matchbox manor! lol Would be quite interesting to see a home or something based in another country, where she has to rest before going on her mission! :)

theyl use it as an excuse to not build one, unless the manor is there when we start the game....and can save and leave the strory at any point to play the manor..a lot of people would like that but....its crystal dynamics and their craap.

When you say a manor at the start of game, do you mean it like in Underworld when we began with it? I was thinking more of the manor we can always come back to, to chill out a bit. A mini level of it's own, just like in the old games. It has nothing to do with Lara being on an island so I don't see why it won't happen.

I would also like a treasure room/vault area like in TR3 but with all her artifacts she's collected eg excalibur, metorite pieces etc. Ino it would not fit right since its a young lara so she would not have discovered them yet but it would still be awesome to see them all in one room.:D:D

Seriously, the Manor should be a place for training purposes, where Lara instructs you vocally in a gym. Since the assault course was built after TR1 (as per Lara in TR2 Mansion) I don;t think they should build one for TR9.

I don't think they're connecting this to any other TR game. It's completely separated, something I'm very pleased with as it leaves room for more imagination, less haveing to be stuck to the past and less annoying more fans.

What biography paradoxes? Look they ****ed up everything when doing Legend, if it has paradoxes already then now I see absolutely no problems in starting from 0 knowing what to do know.

I really don't see why that would have to happen, it's just an adventure when she was younger, and by the looks of it she already had some past to make her very close to the Lara Croft we're used to see, otherwise she wouldn't have a vessel of her own near Japan. The Hymalias story can still be there ;)
