View Full Version : PROFESSOR PETER EDDINGTON and JESSICA
Reading the game guide, I stated that two new characters Peter Eddington and his niece Jessica were originally going to be in TRU!!
Having been cut out they could perhaps be incl;uded in TR9, what do you think???
Professor Eddington is on TRU(he is mentioned),I think...and Jessica,well,I have no idea.
I think they should have been included into TRU, I feel the game needed more story.
Could you Post the Screens about them please, i think there are 2.

Going around trying to save a little possessed girl from an artifact isn't my idea of 'gripping'.
The Eye of Odin looks damn cool though - I'd like to see that in future! :tmb:

No, I don't think they cut it out because they wanted to use it later. It was cut out because it was bad.

Yeah, I feel the same. It would have been a nice addition.
:tmb: Definitely should have included them, they seem like very interesting characters! Damn it Crystal, people complained about the story, perhaps this would've made it more layered!!
I think the game needed more story but this was not it. Saving a little girl from a possessing artifact doesn't work for me. I'm glad they cut them. Little kids in TR? No thanks.

Alistair 2 and Mini-Croft don't look like very interesting characters. = /
The artifact on the other hand seems pretty interesting. :tmb:

I think some of that could have and should have been used to make the story bigger, it felt to short.

I would've loved to see this in TRU. It seems refreshing and different. Having a little girl in TR wouldve been very cool. :)
Im very happy it wasent in the Game, it would've had More Questions then Answers and Eddington is supposed to be like 80 and not some Love interest to Lara because he looks so Young.
The Niece who gets Posessed would've been completly side tracked from the TRU Storyline and woud've been another Thorn in Lara's side.
Make TR 10 with that Girl as Lara's Daughter and change that Man to make him Younger and then we would've seen Lara and Kurtis Children :p
hope I never see them. Rather see Amanda once again :)
My name is Peter, it would've been embarrasing to have Eddington in the game in that case. :vlol:

I wouldve liked those two characters in the game.
Im not too sure about the story they played though.

I am quite happy there was no professor eddington, and I am happy there wasn't a Lara Croft jr.

Professor eddington's sleeves rolled up like that remind me of Larson in Anniversary.
I think TRU's was fine as it was, no need to make it too complicated. The eye of Odin looks awesome, so I hope we see it in the future. It's a good idea for an artifact.

They should have included Peter, but not Jessica. That brat could get in between Peter and Lara. :D
I think they should be included in Tomb Raid IX... The Prof taking Alister's place and Jessica could be Lara's biggest fan and have a huge crush on Zip (which annoys the heck outta him).

I sure hope not, anyway I thought they didn't put Peter in the game because they couldn't avoid people having the idea that he was Lara's love interest.
I don't like the idea of having a kid in the game for some reason
Annoying enough having 'kid' Lara in games, never mind a random one.
I was just joking about the crush on Zip thing. The Professor could be someone she could use as an occasional resource now that Alister is out of the picture. Jessica could show up at the "NEW" manor helping Lara and crew move in... Just a thought. It still might be cool if Jess wanted to follow in Lara's footsteps, much to the Professor's dismay. While Lara is exploring the new manor she could randomly encounter Jessica who's trying to see what Lara's up to.
Obviously these are just random thoughts here. No way would I want to see a kid tagging along with Lara in the field. I do think it would be nice to work in a couple of new "friends" to add a little diversity to the manor training level.

Unlikely since TR9 will be a new adventure, probably no need for Professor Eddington to be mentioned, and the same reluctance to have cute little girls other than Lara in the game is liable to still be there. I doubt Jessica is ever going to appear in any future game, the Professor might some day, and there is probably a good chance the Eye of Odin will appear in the TRU dlc.

Lara already has a tech expert, she does not need a scientist to do research, she is not as far as we know planning any interstellar voyages, or having a go at time travel. Professor Eddington like the real one that once worked at the Cavendish Laboratory is likely to be an astrophysicist.
Well, I believe they had their shot in Underworld, but sadly they didn't get put in. I think they could be put in DLC and I would enjoy that.:)

Tomb Raider 2 had a lot of ideas that could not be put into TR1, TR4 and TR6 both recycled unused story elements from early versions of TR1. For all we know all the Core games were just recycled ideas from the original game, it never stopped us enjoying the games. Nothing wrong with recycling what you cannot use or cannot get to work at the time.
Professor Eddington has already been mentioned in 2 games, so there is every chance as a family friend he is going to eventually appear.
