Nice. Unfortunately, the problem is that your PC is never secure enough. The best solution, along with security softwares, is keeping your eyes open to the websites you visit, files you download and applications you instal.

Woot! My PC beats all! On the first scan without any fixes needed. :)
The stats shown for number of people running seriously outdated versions etc is really scary
98 % here :) it says my anti-virus program is a problem.. Irony :D

Secunia PSI System Score: 100% :yah:
On the first run i got 94% with 3 security threats all on Adobe products: Macromedia Flash (?), Adobe Flash and Adobe Reader.
On the simple interface i have a System socre of 100%, but on the Advanced only 98% due to Adobe Flash. But for much that i use the Adobe Flash Player Unistaller to remore any previous version and update to de latest, the problem doesn't seem to go
Edit: Unistalled Flash Player 9 and updated to version 10. Everything okay now :tmb:

EDIT: ^ Haha :D
I got about 85% or something, because of some old programs such as Adobe Reader and Flash. Some programs I don't necessarily want to update to the latest version anyway, and some I don't even use often.
But yeah, my computer is pretty save - I know what to look out for anyway, and I know how to keep protected. I need to get a small cheap PC for a Smoothwall/m0n0wall though...
It was 84% to begin with - a couple of hours of tinkering later and it's up to 100%. :)
God knows when the last time I updated iTunes was.

mine is the MOST secure right now because it is DEAD and not online. BTW... the computer is no longer a "personal computer" AKA "PC" once it is connected to the internet. I always laugh at that term. Has anyone here ever heard of "Avenue A"? You download it whenever you come here... its a tracking cookie used to find what sites you visit and then displays adds (up top here) based upon the content of those websites. So yeah... if you visit this site a lot and then go to another web site that uses the Avenue A tracking system... you'll end up getting adds for Tomb Raider, and vice versa. We get to thank google for spying on us like that.

100%, but I don't trust that Secunia program.

Hahahahaha!!! :D LOL LOL LOL!!!!! Ok, I'll stop here. I won't ruin the thread :p
92% I rather like this program, letting me know what is needed fixed and gives you the solution instead of having you go on a wild goose hunt is nice.

Well, I've just done everything the program suggested, and it's 100%...for now.

Apparently Yahoo Messenger, Adobe Reader, and WinRar are critical threats :D LOL. Got 95%
That's great and all, but part of my personal security policy is not installing anything I don't absolutely need, which includes so-called secutiry inspectors :p

they have an online scanner so dont have to install anything.
It was more a curiosity to see how outdated alot of peoples machines are. Seems like most people on here do take care of their machines..

Ah yes, I see!
Hmm my only problem was WinAMP 2.91, which I deliberately never updated because I don't like the newer versions... Didn't know this was a problem. Guess I'll have to look into other players...

It's a real virus net sometimes even if I have a very good anti virus
VLC Media Player
AIM Messenger
Windows Live Messenger
And Java?
This test doesn't make any sense.. what I've noticed is it only scans and picks things which connect to the internet, I dont trust it.
Uninstalled :p

well yeh, cos anything that connects to teh net will open u up for attack wont it if its an old out of date version. thats whole point of the tool..

Yeah but what if you already installed or received a bad file like a picture image or mp3? That would be more likely then having it in Windows Live or an AIM Messaging program, don't you think?

Yeah but what if you already installed or received a bad file like a picture image or mp3? I'd guess it would be more like to have those, how many people could have a virus in their Windows Live or Aim Messenger program?
its not just about virus's, its about exploits in the code, so if ya running an old version people can just send u a msg and use a reply as a connection to hack u.. (okay i sound like the daily mail there but u know wat i mean)
its a guide to show u if u are running old outdated software

Oh, I understand. I still don't understand how AIM and Windows live are outdated if I update them every time they tell me to, but every program has its faults. Thanks Jay Man. :D
Scanning mine... can't wait to see how bad my 7-8 yeas 7-8 year old pc is :D

I think that means you have an old version still installed even if you updated to the new version. You probably have to uninstall it completely and then download the latest version.
