View Full Version : Wii wall run troubles...

Hi there, my first posting on here. :)
Am struggling with the wall run, then perpendicular jump to a platform - have 7 of the 8 artefacts in the Mansion and can't seem to get the last one (in the gym). I'm worried because i have seen that this technique is needed later on in the main game (i have just entered the Tomb of Qualopec) - therefore i'm gonna need to crack this
The write ups i have seen describe changing the camera angle at the peak of the wall run so that left becomes 'away from the wall', but given the way the camera is controlled on the Wii (i.e. freehand by pointing at the screen), i can't see how this is possible.
Any tips?

Also, i have 2 Relics and therefore can see the Legend and Classic outfits, but can't seem to wear them in the main game (have figured it out in the Mansion). they are viewable from the main menu screen, but i can't select them - do i need to get them all before i can use them in the main game?

Try leaving the camera alone and see if you can move the analogue stick away from the wall (whichever direction that may be) while you are jumping. This is easiest to do when Lara is at the end of the wallrun and is turning around to face the opposite direction.
If that doesn't work, then try positioning the camera so that you are looking either directly at Lara's back while she's running away from you (then move the stick left and jump), or else you are looking directly at the wall with Lara running left and right (then move the stick down and jump). You can move the camera by pressing one of the buttons (I believe it is the C button on the nunchuk) while pointing the Wiimote. It might be easiest to adjust the camera first and then start running along the wall :)

You cannot wear a different outfit on your first playthrough of the game. You can only wear different outfits in the manor or while replaying levels. The replay level feature is unlocked after completing an entire section of the game (for example, all of Peru) rather than after completing individual levels.

Will give this a go :)

This is the method i am trying currently, more often than not she just jumps off the end of the swing parallel with the wall, once in a blue moon she jumps away from the wall but in a random direction (normally towards the pool - eek! long drop!) I am wondering if i need to point the remote at the place i want to jump onto? Seems to me to be a Wii style thing to do

Ahhh! OK, i think i'm near the end of Peru so i should be able to access them fairly soon (just dodged the boulder at the beginning of the Tomb) :D

Good luck :) This is the method I always use. I only mentioned the other one because many people seem to like it better so I figured it was worth pointing out.

I don't think that has any effect unless you are actually moving the camera while you jump (in which case the movement controls get redefined since movement is from the camera's point of view).

Yes, after this level you will have completed Peru :)

Just want to say a big thanks - tried the technique suggested above and it worked brilliantly :D
Have the last elephant in the Manor and am now at the start of Greece. :)
Cheers people.

By way of an update, played for a couple of hours last night and have done Atlas, Heaphestus & Posiedon, saved the game in the door to Damocles.
Must've fallen to my death countless times in the Folly :)
