View Full Version : they should hire an professional writer
for tr9 they really need to hire an professional writer. not because the story of underworld was bad or i have anything against eric lindstrom, but there where a lot of holes in the story that whit a little bit more attention to the story problaby would'nt even been there.
so what do you guys think?
ya think?
ugh, there were so many just...little things in Underworld (and TRL and TRA) that were just annoyingly written. and yeah, the holes are frustrating since now their the dominating topic of the forums, and i just don't want to care about the story anymore. i've got the mythology aspect of it down fine - the really annoying holes deal with the main characters, and that's just silly.

I liked the storylines of TRL (Amanda portion), TRA, and TRU for the most part, although, I agree. The series does need a professional writer. ;)
If they could get those who wrote Batman: The Dark Knight, I'd be over the moon.

I agree with getting a writer. The one thing I really wish they would do is just NOT ANSWER anymore questions from the mommy saga and instead let it go. No more Natla, mumy, dady, Amanda, Tihocan, or any of them. If CD can get a new fresh storyline then we can have continuations from TR9 and have a new fresh start to the series. If they keep putting elements of previous games it's like the series is gonna get so old. Thats my opinion
Agreed. When Core hired Murti I was thrilled and the story is still considered one of the best (if not THE best) TR storyline to date.
A professional writer would be fantastic. If Ubisoft, Warner Bros., or whoever buys in they should have enough cash to hire one. Hopefully not EA, their games are terrible, imo.
I find it funny...
People are complaining about unanswered questions in TRU... But they did say plenty of time that TRU would answer most of the questions, but not all of them. I don't see how it is such a surprise for most of you...
Hiring a professional writer is no guarantee of quality at all; many games said to have had a "professional" write the story have utterly terrible writing (or, alternatively, writing that does not work for a game at all). Rather than just throwing a writer some money and expecting a good story the best game stories tend to come from some sort of balance, with the writer having an interest in the game (and gaming as a whole) and also having some knowledge of how to write well, even if they aren't an outright professional (that or putting a tight leash on a professional writer so they don't compromise how the game plays).
Not that that gives much of a solution to the current TR plot.
