What famous artifacts/treasures would you like Lara to hunt for next (such as Excalibur or the Philosopher's Stone in previous installments) and in which locations would they be found?

one small object with apparently unsignificant power, yet Lara would give it valour because she searches it because it's linked to a culture and the world in the past.... much like the Amulet of Horus
I'd prefer something novel - something created by CD that doesn't have to fit with pre-existing mythology. Whilst Legend/TRU were fun, storywise, the whole mjolnir/excalibur bits felt shoehorned into the stories, they would have worked just as well without those artifacts.
I want it to be something religious Nuh's Ark for example

I don't really care what it is as long as it fits in with the story and is believable. E.g. I don't want to look for Thor's belt in mexico :wve:

Same here. Something they invented this time. :tmb:

I wanna see that neat rejected artifact in action. It was in the artbook with Eddington and Jessica, though I forget what it's called...

@_ush2_: well if such book exists, then what's the purpose of searching for mythological artefacts? We know it's TR and that the object that Lara searches will be there, but that wouldn't fit in the TR story imo :)
and could you use small size plz? it hurts a little reading your post

yes ok i will make it smaller and to ur post:
Lara will probably detroy the book later and keep the artefacts. Maybe she would say: Wheres the mystery in these artefacts if i have this book and she will destroy it!

nah, tbh I think Lara should search for an artefact that was a symbol of a culture, and not a powerful/ knowledge database kind object.
ahhh well and no prob on changing it.
OOO i just have a new idea!
Lara goes to Arabia searching for a diamond only after taking the dimond, the diamon pulls itself to Lara's waist and sticking there and becoming a belt that makes Lara a little stronger but Lara needs the rest of the armory because she then becomes possesed by this entity and she is hypnotized by the entity so that she will get the rest of the armory and only after finding all of the parts the entity is released and Lara has to fight it! OOOLALA!! WHAT A WONDERFUL STORY!!! OOHHHLAAALAA!!!:D:p

I want to see some of Natla's other remnants of Atlantis.
Holy Grail maybe.
Oh, heres an idea, merge Tomb Raider and Assassin's Creed (story-wise), could be fun hunting for more "Golden Apples", maybe Lara could be against the Templar.

I was wondering about this thread and I would like to see what you about having Lara searching for an object that can only be found by those that DON'T want to find it but knows of its existence. like if you search for it because of the purpose of having or using it, the object couldn't be found, yet if you know about the object's existence and you don't want it, it would be found...

I think we had enough of Natla or stuff associated tbh :)

Wow, that's a tough read. Let me see if I understand it. You know the object exists, but if you actively search for it you can never find it. But you may stumble upon it if you don't look? Is that it?

Thought in that way would make the artifact appear in front of Lara even if she didn't know about it, so no. It would be more like: Lara knows it exists, but she quits searching it because there's no way she finds it, but she's having some troubles like how to get out of some ruins, and in her way out she'll find it, not that it appeared magically in front of her, but in a room with a pedestal where it would stand...
i think i get u! ooooooooohhhhhh!!! thats what you mean!
Umm... no, Lara never gives up if she wants something! But i like the idea!:cln:

I read in a Doctor Who fanfic of the Doctor and the Master in a maze. The more they tried to get out, the harder it became - eventually the Doctor just stood still, and the maze dissolved around them, and they were at the exit!
Not exactly the same thing, but same in principle - the more you want it, the harder it becomes to find it.

I believe that I actually came up with something that has merit. I am certain that all of you know of Ötzi the Iceman.
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/1/1d/OetzitheIceman02.jpg/300px-OetzitheIceman02.jpgHow about a Tomb Raider story based on him? *After reading the Wiki article about him here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%96tzi_the_Iceman), please read on*
Ötzi, along with several of his compatriots was on a journey to recover a powerful tribal symbol that was stolen from his village. As they neared their destination, they were ambushed by the aforementioned thieves. Ötzi was killed outright in the scuffle, and the others dragged away for ritual sacrifice. Centuries later, his body is discovered with all that is mentioned in the Wiki piece, except one thing that was never exposed to the public...or anyone beyond its discoveror. An animal skin map that seemed to indicate the location of something interesting...an unknown, ancient temple based on a heretofore unknown religion. Pictographs on the map show a strange god that appears to be using some kind of strange, flying device. The paleo-archaeologist who pilfered the skin, contacts Lara to find out what all of this means...discreetly of course.

Hmm I've noticed a lot of people are a bit sick of Natla (I never will!:D) but she doesn't have to be involved in the game in any way. The remnants of Atlantis wouldn't even have to be the centre of the story, Lara could just stumble across them in the course of looking for whatever shes looking for.
Besides, logically Natla is dead this time. Now in my mind she escaped again but if the hammer can kill immortal gods, then she's pretty dead. Or at least a Thrall!

I would like to see her find the garden of eden and the artifact could be the flaming sword that apparently protects its entrance.

She searched for weapons in TRL and TRU...so I don't want that again.

Please, absolutely NO MORE connections to Avalon or whatever.
Something related to African folklore would be nice. For an adventurer, Lara is curiously absent from [non-egyptian] african adventures! And seeing as it's a beautiful continent with so much to explore... Same applies to Australia and Aboriginal mythology.
Of course, I have no idea what artifacts could relate to that but I'm sure they can come up with something. :p

^ I agree Africa, I loved Ghana in TRL.
To be honest location doesn't bother me as long as they don't go back to Ireland, god those accents were horrible! At least they got the weather right.

Dont worry about foreign accents. Crystal Dynamics tend to use american voice actors for most of the characters :)
