The Duke joked he would not want the portrait on his wall
A rather unusual portrait of a bare chested Duke of Edinburgh with a fly on his shoulder and cress on his fingertip has been unveiled.

http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/40098000/jpg/_40098917_duke_203_300.jpg

The bluebottle is designed to represent the 82-year-old Duke's mortality and the cress his four children, said artist Stuart Pearson Wright.

Asked whether he felt the portrait looked like him, the Duke allegedly said: "I bloody well hope not."

The portrait is on sale in a London gallery for 25,000.

I have to admit I like our royal family. I'd hate to lose our heritage. Sir Francis Walsingham said it best in Shekhar Kapur's utterly outstanding Elizabeth: "People need to look up to the devine." when he spoke to Elizabeth I during her troubled reign.

That would be right before she lady-shaved (http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=1751&productId=85206) her head and became a virgin. Again.

By that I mean it took Millicent Fawcett and The Suffragettes an era of demonstrations in order to lobby for equality back in 1897.
