I'm using my dad's laptop at the moment, so naturally if it catches any viruses my dad won't be pleased. He's already deleted MSN as he believes it carries viruses () so I've been using eBuddy as an alternative. However, when I used it on the family computer, a THREAT DETECTED window appeared. Using it on this laptop only minutes ago, the antivirus program had to close down Adobe Reader for protection because I was on eBuddy. Any safe MSN alternatives?

What anti-virus program do you use by the way? It sounds awful.

And MSN Messenger doesn't carry viruses, the only way you will get a virus is if someone sends on to you or you click a suspicious link and download one.

Anyway, if you want a replacement, you could try http://www.trillian.cc/

I'm not quite sure. There's all kinds of different anti-virus programs being used on the family comp and laptop. Honestly, I don't even feel safe using the internet at all. :p

Thanks. ;)

Try SpyBot for anti spyware and AntiVir for anti virus protection. Both free and legal. That way you won't catch any virus's from msn, which can only really be sent (sometimes by accident) by other people. :p
