Hi, I'm buying my daughter a laptop. The heaviest game she'll play on it is Sims. For the rest it's just office applications.
My budget is around 600 euros, I have selected the following 3:
1. Toshiba L300-1AY at 550 euro
Specs Core2Duo T5800,3 Gb Ram, 250Gb HD, Intel 4500 graphics, 15,4 screen, wifi g
2. Compaq CQ60-130 at 550 euro
Specs AMD X2 RM-70, 3 Gb Ram, 320 Gb HD, nVidia 8200M graphics, 15,6" wifi g
3. Acer 5735Z-324G25MN at 599 euro.
Specs Intel T3200, 4 Gb Ram, 250 Gb HD, Intel 4500 graphics, 15.6 " wifi n

Which would be best and do you have perhaps a better suggestion?

Thanks

I think toshiba is the best brand name there , but post the specs of each of the models that you are looking at

Toshiba and Acer are fine. Do not consider Compaq. Best choice would actually be Asus, but out of those I'd go with Toshiba.

Exactly, as we can surely search for, but still some specs can vary from vendor to vendor...

Cough... I'd say Toshiba as well :)

Umm... After reviewing the brief specs I tend to say - go for Compaq though... Intel GMA built-in graphics is crap. Better go for Compaq with NVidia and 320Gb HDD :tmb:

OK, thanks for the input. Now it's just up to my daughter, but I know what to suggest.
