I checked on it for a reason. And if you look at this one (http://www.websiteoutlook.com/www.tombraiderchronicles.com), it has even more value.

Not bad, not bad indeed.

One day I'll start janiceforums.com and we'll easily surpass tombraiderforums. Don't ask how.

Check out Facebook (www.facebook.com)'s traffic graph...

I wonder if/when it'll level off; there are only so many people in the world.

http://traffic.alexa.com/graph?c=1&u=facebook.com&r=6m&y=r&z=3&h=150&w=300

Street Fighter IV (www.capcom.co.jp/sf4) traffic graph...

See that peak in October? That's me that is.

http://traffic.alexa.com/graph?c=1&u=capcom.co.jp&r=6m&y=r&z=3&h=150&w=300&

How reliable do you think all this data is?

I know they're estimates, but what's the margin of error?

They are pretty spot on. On the three sites that I own they are startlingly accurate in fact, without really knowing any of the actual financial details.

Really? Excellent...

Why do I feel this website/information might be useful to me?

I have absolutely no idea. XD

Suppose it's interesting to see what you get back.

Only useful to the owner, or the person seeking to purchase or buy into a site. And of course it is interesting to the curious.

I was a bit taken aback as to the estimated worth of the forum, but considering the traffic I should not have been.

Jesus. And what is their money speciality? All they do is host peoples work.

Subscriptions, prints account, advertisement... They have tons of revenue sources. Hell, with the prints account, dA can make more money than the artist can.

Jeez, really?

I always thought the prints were a third party company doing them. And dA get the money and not the artist? Liek Woa.

Bleh, same old, same old with the recent searches in the box at the bottom left.

The thought had crossed my mind.

Justin could quite honestly make a lot more from this place than he is presently doing. And I respect him for the fact that he is not, for it would most likely make the experience in here a bit less fun.

Both dA and the artist get profit, but I think it benefits dA more. I don't know if they still do this, but I paid $30.00 just to get the prints account back in '05 and I haven't even made that much from print sales.

And then if you look here:

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y115/vixen21/Tomb%20Raider/dAprints.jpg

It shows you how much you will make from whatever price you set. If it's too low, dA could definitely make more money than you. And of course, if it's too high, no one will buy it.

Has Eidos seen this?

I expect they will buy it, then the forum will be restricted to "I heart Eidos" threads.

So it's like thieving money? And $68million can't all be server costs so I want to know what they do with it.

You say you paid $30, have you made that much from sales?

Actually, TRC and TRF cost more than the official Eidos and Tomb Raider sites and due to Eidos' current finance issues, I doubt that'd happen. :D

^ Nope. I said I still haven't made that money back in the post you quoted. ;)

Granted, I've only recently started to get back into the idea of selling prints. I'm certainly not popular enough or good enough to make a lot of money from my art or prints.

Some people do say that dA is stealing money and whatnot, but you sign an agreement. If you're not comfortable with their terms, don't do it. It's become a business now so naturally their goal is to make a profit.

People who may think they are good, or those who have a popular dA reputation may buy it from dA feeling they have a chance, they certainly would feel as they've been stolen from. They couldn't do anything about it though. It seems harsh or... cheeky... that dA take your art and claim it or whatever they may do with it for selling rights. Do they actually claim selling rights? Is that in the agreement, many people don't read the T&C :(

They don't take your art and claim it and make money from it without your persmission. There's really nothing cheeky about it. You are told in the T&C that dA will also make a profit from selling your prints because they are the ones providing that service. It's really not that much different from going to Kinkos and paying for a bunch of prints that you then turn around and sell.

It's all fine and well. But it just seems to be something wrong.

I also checked your dA, I love it. Fantastic! :tmb:

yahoo is CRAP!

everytime I try to login i see that I have mail and click and it'll say "sorry for the inconveinence temporary unavailable" and then yahoo msngr isn't much different. If you try to use a webcam it freezes ALL THE TIME.

are you sure the $4b isn't the cost to FIX it?

True. If you try searching for anything in the Yahoo! search engine it gives you loads of random crap.

I always found Yahoo! mail to be reliable but nobody uses Yahoo! messenger. Bleugh, why do I write Yahoo! It's just yahoo. Wait, wrong. Yahoo! :o
