I've recently heard about a remake of "Child's Play" with a planned release for 2009 or 2010. Personally, I am really excited. The writer of the original 1988 "Child's Play" is returning to write this script and the original voice of Chucky, will return. Altho the creators are leaning toward staying animatronic, it's not sure wether or not Chucky will be CGI.

Has anyone else heard about this?

Yea, I was reading something about it on imdb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1134807/). There isn't a whole lot of information on there - there isn't much of a cast listed and there is a lot of speculation on the boards about who should be cast and who should do the voice of Chucky. People also don't really like the idea of remakes!

Chucky better not be cgi that would be so lame and make it like 10x less scary. Sound interesting and might be good since they got the original writer and such.

They never ruin the original for me. I usually like them as movies, but as a remake I agree they usually suck.

Chucky movies were never that good to me, i mean i really am scared of dolls, but in chuckies case, it was so painfully obviouse he was evil just by looking at him, that it defeated the object in some ways. But im sure ill watch it when it comes out.

Nooooooooooo!! Why do they always have to remake great classic horror movies? :hea:

The first two were fun, the third (Bride of Chucky ) was ridiculous.............:vlol:

Honestly I would rather see a remake than another ****ty sequel. Especially if Don Maniciīs going to write and direct -> that has been confirmed already.

I don't know, I just don't get why they never just kicked him or stomped on him. I mean, COME ON! :)

I really hope they won't go through with it, but if they do, I won't be seeing it. MAYBE when it comes out to DVD, perhaps I'll rent it... who knows.

Well the fourth is Bride of Chucky and the fifth is Seed of Chucky. And yes I'll plan on seeing the remake but i wonder when the sixth movie after the remake will be out (which happens to be the sixth)?

I can't wait tbh. I loved the first - and I can see in my head how it can be improved with a remake. It'll be awesome :).

If they let Don to stick to his original screenplay then the remake could be even better.
