If I were choosing the next singles...
1. Born This Way
2. Judas
3. The Edge of Glory
4. Marry The Night - Just to get another radio friendly hit under her belt for this album.
5. Government Hooker - I would make it a radio edit that cuts out the intro and makes the song faster.
6. You and I or Scheiße - If GH flops, then You and I because it's a great anthem for radio. If GH is a hit, then Scheiße. I would also make a radio edit of this song that cuts out the beginning.
7. Bad Kids - Not my favorite song on the album, but it's pretty catchy and I think it could be a hit.
8. Electric Chapel - If she makes it to eight singles, then she should just release anything, because it wouldn't matter if it flopped or not. I just chose Electric Chapel because it's a personal favorite. :p

Yeah. Born This Way kinda had to be released. However, it should've been either the second single after MTN or the last single. Not because it's not radio friendly, but because it would end the era on a high note and she probably wouldn't have any Madonna comparisons because people wouldn't have been as fixated on it since it's the last single.

That's always the way - Normally Amazon/Play can be good and manage to get to you the day or the weekend it's supposed to be there (obviously not this time for the weekend thing) but fingers crossed though it arrives on the day :)

Americano could wrap up the Paparazzi/Telephone trilogy! Americano would be a great summer single, but so would Sheisse. Government Hooker is just a song I see doing well whenever and it could definitely go #1 because it is so catchy.

I'm so excited. The Monster Ball HBO special is being aired on Sky 1 right now. I'm recording in HD so I can watch it sometime next week after my next wave of examinations are over.
February 24th 2010 was the best evening of my entire life. Looking forward to watching the last ever monster ball, and hopefully attending the Born This Way ball at some point this/next year. :hug:

I'm agreeing however in place of Scheisse I'd like to see Bloody Mary. Mainly because I don't think they'd allow it as a single but also because the song is more radio friendly.

I'm generally not impressed with the album and I still maintain that The Fame > The Fame Monster > Born This Way, but some songs have grown on me. I remember being obsessed with The Fame and listening to it literally all summer.
From BTW -- I hated Born This Way, still do. Judas was better, still not good IMO. The Edge of Glory was the first song from BTW that I actually liked.

On the first listen I get the impression she is trying too hard to make 'good' music. It seems to me more like a satire of people who try to make more indie/aternative pop.
If there was a music equivalent of the term purple prose, I think this album would embody it. I miss good simple pop like Just Dance. I heard it on an episode of The Office yesterday and it seemed a million miles away from where she is now. In the wrong direction.
It's also much too long. Whats the point? A lot of these are a bit similar anyway, so she could have condensed ideas from two songs into one better one; and each individual song is too long in itself which is a pain.

Bloody Mary certainly has the potential to overtake DITD as my favorite Gaga track. :cln: It's so mellow and haunting, completely different from anything she's done before and anything on Top 40 radio right now. It and Heavy Metal Lovers need to be singles badly. Didn't she say she wanted 8-9 singles? Americano and Marry The Night would make very good singles, and I think Scheisse would do well on the club charts at least. This era's going to be amazing. :jmp:

The album is growing on me, I still don't like Bad Kids and Highway Unicorn, but I like them more after I've heard The Queen, which I couldn't put up with.
I hope after The Edge Of Glory we get Americano as the single and continuation of Telephone and after that Scheisse, Government Hooker and Bloody Mary.
Marry the Night is also amazing, but it's sounds so much like BTW and TEOG so I don't think it's necessary to have a single like that anymore.

I think I already rated the songs earlier, but Black Jesus is amazing. :ohn: Not to be "one of those people", but part of me thinks that the people that don't like it just don't fully grasp what she's saying in the song. It's not even all that offensive (to anybody with even a somewhat open mind), it's just saying that she studied her religion after becoming an adult and found some aspects to be different than how she was taught. The Queen is pretty damn good, FOHL is the only really "meh" song on the whole album for me.

On first listen, I was eating lunch, in a fit of happiness, posting on facebook, and trying to read the lyrics book simultanously, and the speakers I was blaring from weren't the best quality. Anyways, first listen, spectacular.
However, need to listen to it more to adore it. The first half is genius, but the four or five songs towards the end all seemed the same sort of "LOLOL I LOVE LEATHER AND ROCK ANDROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLL", so I need to listen to them more.

So I've listened to the whole album and I gotta say I love it, each song is Amazing yet shares a common theme with the others. The only songs I would say are a bit 'meh' are Bad Kids and The Queen, although The Queen needs to be a Christmas single!
Loving Fashion of his Love but it really reminds me of I wanna dance with somebody by Whitney Huston. And one song, I don't remember which at the moment takes the beat of the chorus right out of Poker Face, you can literally sing the song to it, but it's still great. :D I'm getting a strong Kill Bill vibe from Americano too. What's the bet's if Tarantino gets GaGa for one of his movies this song will be on the OST.
Overall I'd give the album a 9.5 out of 10.

I think it's kind of a good idea. If people aren't fond of the singles (which imo are weak but very mainstream), they'll listen to the rest of the album to see if it's still worth buying. :p
I think it's kind of a good idea. If people aren't fond of the singles (which imo are weak but very mainstream), they'll listen to the rest of the album to see if it's still worth buying. :pYeah, that makes a sence but they could upload short previews of each tracks :p

So I've listened to the whole album and I gotta say I love it, each song is Amazing yet shares a common theme with the others. The only songs I would say are a bit 'meh' are Bad Kids and The Queen, although The Queen needs to be a Christmas single!
Loving Fashion of his Love but it really reminds me of I wanna dance with somebody by Whitney Huston. And one song, I don't remember which at the moment takes the beat of the chorus right out of Poker Face, you can literally sing the song to it, but it's still great. :D I'm getting a strong Kill Bill vibe from Americano too. What's the bet's if Tarantino gets GaGa for one of his movies this song will be on the OST.
Overall I'd give the album a 9.5 out of 10.
I was thinking the same thing. Chorus reminds me of Whitney, verses remind me of Express Yourself by Madonna xD
