Israel still hasn't responded

So what are the conditions of the cease fire? Israel has already said they would only accept a cease fire if it required Hamas to stop firing rockets into Israel.

Thanks.

Hamas has rejected an open-ended truce, seeking instead a more limited six-month agreement that could be renewed, according to Arab diplomats.

Mark Regev, spokesman for Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, said: "Israel will not accept a situation where Hamas gets a temporary period of quiet just to rearm and regroup and that ends with further rocket barrages on Israel.

Oh well, it sounds like Hamas wants precisely what Israel said they won't accept -- a chance to rearm :(

No it isn't. Gaza has seen too many wounded and too many dead for it to be a PR stunt. Honestly that's quite disrespectful to even suggest such a thing

there should be peace and justice, not some invisible treaties

Nothing here is suggested, it's just the way it is.

Do you watch the same news I watch? Because it sure looks contrived to me.

Israel holds elections in just a few weeks. The ruling party has been accused of being too soft on Hamas in the past.

No actually I don't think we watch the same news. Nor read the same news.

Me:
BBC
Le Monde
Sydney Morning Herald

You: ?

PR stunt for Israel or PR stunt for Hamas? The way that I took Draco's post was that it was a PR stunt for Hamas.

CNN mostly. And considering the stuff I've seen, it is difficult for me to take Palestinian claims seriously.

I've also heard that Al-Jazheera left the neutral journalist route, so news might be confusing for a while.
