That is the question.
Whatever it hits, whatever Thor does to the hammer, even if he wants to get rid of it, even with 1000 obstacles, Mjolnir always flies back to Thor, like a curse.

So do you think that will apply to Lara ?:)
Is that something to be kept for Lara's Shadow ?

Yes, hopefully when she least expects it so that it smacks her in the head and she goes to sleep for the next couple of years. Until someone can come up with a decent game for her.

It's just the story, let me search on google, maybe I can find evidence of that. *searches*

.. would be able to strike as firmly as he wanted, whatever his aim, and the hammer would never fail, and if he threw it at something, it would never miss and never fly so far from his hand that it would not find its way back, and when he wanted, it would be so small that it could be carried inside his tunichttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mjolnir

That's true, its from Norse mythology ;)

I think it does make TRU feel unrealistic since after the hammer hit Natla and went into the Eitr with her, it should have flown back to Lara. But a lot of people don't know much about Norse mythology so it doesn't matter to them.

that or maybe they're keeping something for Lara's Shadow.

Please, let the Hammer return. It was the coolest artifact/weapon ever in a TR! :)

Obviously not since the only time Lara threw it it refused to return, perhaps it returned to the real Thor or perhaps once it touches the eitr it becomes inert, waiting for Thor to claim it. Eric's take on it was just because Thor never lost it does not mean it will always return, and yet most stories say it always returned to Thor. l doubt the hammer will be in Lara's Shadow, since only Lara can use it, and the main character of Lara's Shadow is probably not going to be Lara. Even Lara only had it for a short time, so the hammer might not be in any of the dlc episodes.

Aye, because mythology in TR is never a direct match for reality. Just because mythology says Thor's hammer always returned to him doesn't mean it ever returned to him, even once. That's just what the myth says. It may not be what the reality is or ever was.

Excalibur was a sword in myth, after all, and in TR, it isn't a sword at all. It's an artifact used as a key for the Dais Network that happens to be shaped like one, and thus was thought of as one by the people who discovered it after the Ancient World had fallen or moved on. At least according to Eric.

I think it's better if it doesn't. She has two Excalibur's, the gauntlets, and belt, not to mention a number of other powerful artifacts.

Like all mythologies from across time, there are inconsistencies. Despite the myth that Mjolnir always comes back to Thor, there was a story that he threw the hammer at the Midgard serpent trying to kill it on a fishing trip [in an attempt to avoid his fate of fighting it to his death at ragnarock], but he lost the hammer in the depths of the ocean.

yes but some of its powers are based on myth, from tru point of view it seems more human apart frm the lightning bolts

Well, if you want to go with the theory that Natla is still alive, a Thrall version of Natla has it now and is planning her third attempt to destroy the world :tea:

I honestly don't know... mythology in the real world and mythology in the gaming world don't have to be the same, it just really depends on whether the writers want it to happen or not.
