Not sure if there was one already but might as well make one thread to discuss all the older games like Nintendo 64, Segas, and other stuff.

My favorite old school game is Doom (which I still play, and like it evenly as much as the tomb raider series). I own the original, the second one, final doom, and I frequently download and play fan made levels and full games. Doomworld.com is a similar community like Tombraiderforums, and I comment and post on both sites evenly.

Does Chrono Trigger still count as old school?! I loved that game until Chrono Cross ruined it. :pi:

And you can't forget the lovable Yoshi's Island! :D

My favourite old school gaming moments are

When I finished Goldeneye on 00 Agent( completing the Cradle on 00 Agent)
Beating Ganon on Zelda, one of my proudest boss victories :D
Beating Giant Robotnik on Sonic 2, had no rings so had to avoid being hit once.
Getting past some of the difficult challenges on Perfect Dark.
Finishing Mortal Kombat trilogy.
Doing a brutality on above game, theyre hard to do.

These games aren't nearly old-skool enough, they're more mid-skool. Where's the talk of the Dizzy series or Head Over Heels or Attic Attack or jet Set Willy or Monty Mole? That's what I call old-skool :D

Compared to games today they are old school.

I guess the phrase (and what games fall into the category) is more determined by the individual's age. I started playing games in the early '80s and to me that's what old-skool is. Stuff from the '90s like everything on the 8-bit/16-bit consoles seems like yesterday to me.

I was born in 86 so things like Atari were around my time.

Atari? You mean the Atari ST?
I was born in '75 and grew up with machines like the Atari VCS/2600, the Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC 464 and the ZX Spectrum series.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past . I lovelovelovelooooooove it. Everytime I think about it I get a wierd feeling in my body. Like I'm excited.
I even bought it expensive in a game collector store thing just to be able to download and play it on a emulator. :p
